Honestly, I rate Park and even his attacking attributes. He's got a very good footballing BRAIN and his chemistry with Rooney in particular is awesome, at least what I've noticed over his time here..

HOWEVER, his biggest biggest problem is, lacks pace and is too too light weight. And that's a major understatement. He cannot go passed his man for that very reason, he gets shrugged too easily or outpaced too easily..

His assists column season upon season would probably disagree somewhat.

Some people call em Average, I call them Fantastic squad players.

It's players like him and O'Shea that win you titles and put you in positions to be able to clean sweep all the titles going.

I totally agree with you there! It's player like him who is doing the running that compensates the lazier type in Berbatov, that we really need, to tire the opposite team, if not for other better reason. His willingness to run is fantastic, although he's not that quick in reacting near goal at times!

The OP is a bit too harsh on him!

He's superb with all round abilities, good pace, balance and of course amazing work rate. Rate him very highly, but however for some reason, he became a spastic when he gets anywhere within 10 metres of the opposition's goal....

That's very wrong,I've seen park beat a player for pace many a time and He is not slow I'd say quite pacy it's only His final ball sometimes and composure that sometimes let's Him down but as player He is what we need when others around Him have more attacking ability but not the workrate.

I rate him, I think he is more useful than people think he is or than people rate him.

I definitely rate him of course. Perfect squad player who comes on and does more than a decent job if he needs to fill in, and very disciplined too. Never hear him complain about lack of opportunities, works hard...Works hard is an understatement, the amount of running and closing down he does is another level!

great squad player, he has an absurd work rate and is quite good with combination play. the only thing he lacks is a final ball

thought he and evra did an amazing job with maicon and zanetti

He was poor today, and usually offers little while going forward but he's a good player to have in the squad. No winger of significantly better quality would settle for a back-up role at United, although he plays quite a lot so I'm not really sure he's a back-up.

Park holds up the piano for Rooney, Ron, and Berbatov to play. Invaluable team player, keeps the balance in the team. We hardly lose when he plays cause he allows the team to have a good balance between attack and defence. Cf Nani : A more talented player but far poorer team player.

He's having a bad day outmuscled today, nothing to see, let's move on.

Plus there's no Scholes/Anderson in the mid, Carrick and Fletch was meant to shield our back four, he got little option rather than going forward, and berba was not at his best as well.

Should he pass back to our defence, we'd be labelled shit on a stick

The Inter players were huge, he had a tough time against them. I felt that for every useful thing he did (harrow someone, win the ball), he followed it up with something negative like a poor pass or getting knocked off the ball. I can definitely understand starting him after being rested the last match, but Tevez should have come on somewhere around the 75th minute mark.

Will be interesting to see if he starts again at OT. I think he should play against Spurs, having both Nani and Ronaldo on the pitch exposes us a fair bit.

He has no composure, when he gets in those positions, he craps himself more often than not. But his other attributes makes him a great squad player.

some people are very harsh on Park and have absolutely no clue why SAF plays him

The fact that SAF played him in such a big game speaks volumes.Did well out there got a bit tired towards the end which is understandable.

No distinctly average player would be first choice to play nearly every big game for the English/European/World champions.

Type of player every teams needs. When things are not clicking it is the guys who run their asses off and work you into a game through grit and determination that keep you competitive.

Sometimes work ethic trumps technique.

I really like Park but didn't think last night was one of his best. Still, was decent. Always tidying up, always available, always covering. In hindsight, we probably didn't need to be as cautious in our line up and maybe we over estimated them in that we could've had more up top but not a bad result, nonetheless.

He had some good moves and runs here and there, but his passing was definitely poorer than it normally is. By his standards, relatively poor because he is usually pretty damn consistent.

Park was great at doing those things for which Fergie plays him. Don't expect from him to score or create, his functions are different, he gives us balance and makes it easier for the likes of Ronaldo and Berbatov to create and score.

People who undermine Park's ability and overall contribution to the team either haven't watched United for the last year and a half or you don't know anything about sports.

Next to Vidic and Evra, he has been our most consistent player this season.

Yea, his finishing is bad but anyone who thinks he isn't a good attacker is mad. He DOES beat his man quite often and has a great eye for a pass.

Not to mention his workrate and defensive abilities.

Now that Park's turning out to be our scapegoat is great, IMO.

Shows how strong our team is that two of our most consistent players this season are the scapegoats.

He can do much better than he did yesterday. But then again, will never be rated as a top winger, as he is not dangerous enough in the final third, he has other qualities though

Park is brilliant, love him to pieces.

He can be a bit frustrating at times in the final third but I still think he's a bloody good player for us.

Discuss???

Discuss what? the fact you're clearly talking out of your arse?

Park has become a key fixture in the team for the big games and this isn't down to him being distinctly average is it?

A consistent and productive player who in every single game he plays gives 100% - I have no worries at all when I see him in the starting 11.

That boy parks developed some nice little turns to wriggle himself away from defenders this season. Seems to have upped his game, but still lacks that final ball in the last third a lot of the time, this is where the frustration with a lot of people comes in. I really rate the lad and think he's been a vital player for us this season. His 3 lungs give him that supernatural ability to run for pretty much ever, and I think last night was the only time I've ever seen him tire on a football pitch.
