I find cider very funny btw.

I really wish people would stop putting words in my mouth.
 That's quality !
It really is sad to what you people have reduced to. It's almost laughable.

I wouldn't bet on you not bumming each other given the chance.

-------------

I didn't see much G&G today at the cottage but there was loads at the Eight Bells before the game.

Just wonder where all those lads went. Probably ticketless. Touts must have had a field day leeching on tourists today I guess.

So the G&G campaign is now a campaign against United players defending badly and missing penalties?

Thank feck Chelsea won the league last year eh?

Get off your high horse it was meant to be a light hearted remark. Almost G/G supporters would do absolutely nothing to hurt the club and players, they have total support. So what have your American friends done for the Club/players? Got rid of a couple of the best ones to make the world think they aint broke
American friends? There you go again, Mr Top Red. The Glazers have no better friend than you. Instead of being about the debts you and your "light hearted remarks" about the G&G campaign being dependent on United doing badly on the pitch is great for the Glazers. They can write the whole thing off as being a bunch of nutjobs like you who are actually happy that United do badly on the pitch.

Your whole thing on this forum seems to be trying to turn United fan against United fan.

Lets get something straight once and for all, I would never want Manchester United to do badly result wise for any cause, nothing is that important. I hope that is crystal clear, any campaign that would affect the team I will no longer support, OK? The team performances last season and today were more affected by the devious actions of the owners than anything the G/G supporters did, that is my opinon like it or lump it

I'll take your word for it, but remarks about the G&G campaign like "with many performances like today they will soon be back out in force" are asking for trouble.

That's an honest view of it.

Many, who care just about the football side of things, will be concerned when results don't go right. Then they will find who is to blame. From players to manager to owners.

That does mean I would ever want that scenario to happen and I would never, anyway truce

Yep, cos pre glazers we regularly completed whole seasons without dropping a point.
No we did not, but we rarely went a few games without results.

What CL says is that should we have a few games like today then there will need to be someone to be blamed.

What does one posters opinion on a forum have to do with the whole of G&G campaign? Especially since my post had not relation to the G&G :houllier:

Probably shouldn't have been here then.

It really is sad when a couple of dropped points mean that the owners are to blame because it shows how out of touch some people are with the real world.

If people campaigned against the owners every time a game was drawn, we'd have new owners at every club in the world every couple of weeks!

Anyone who suggests that the Glazers were responsible for today's result seriously need to have their heads checked.

I can't believe I have even had to write something along these lines, it's pathetic.

To be fair, crerand legand's point is actually a sound one (if this is his point). Supporters are far more likely to get on with watching the football while the club is successful and there is football to focus on. That has little to do with being a glory hunter, whatever that even means, and far more to do with human nature.

When we are winning, the people who are concerned about the club will find it far easier to put those concerns to one side and concentrate on the football, which is what most or all of us would rather be doing anyway, despite some of the insinuations that have been made to the contrary.

But when we are not winning — and by that I mean over the long term, not just a few games — the roles almost reverse, and some supporters will focus more on the ownership issue in order to forget what is happening on the pitch.

This is all fairly uncontroversial. I do exactly the same sort of thing when we lose a big game by not exposing myself to the TV and radio for a few days after the game, in order to not have to feel depressed about it all.

I only repeated my views from yesterday so you cant apply this to me, but lack of investment in the team is beginning to have an affect, too much value sometimes is not a good thing

Most supporters just blame the players for having a bad day or blame the manager for picking the wrong team, formation or tactics.

Not many go all out attack on the owners and demand a change of ownership for one "bad" result.

Ffs... if we're going to have this every time we draw a game for the next ten years, it's going to get very, very tiresome.

You had to write something along those lines because you are too dumb to understand what is being said.

Here it is in a diagram for you.

What we were saying is that this 50% of supporters will start to question the manager, the team, the players, and most definitely the owners when we won't get results (notice the plural so you understand we're not talking just about todays game).

Whether it's your opinion or not, it's wrong.

I'll support Manchester United through thick and thin, but if a campaign to oust the Glazers start to affect the players on the pitch then so be it. Manchester United will move on.

Manchester United > trophies.

OK, and when we win four League titles in five years, will you shut the feck up?

Is that a response to my post? It's rather confusing when you quote me and then reply to something that I haven't said, and in fact, have explicitly refuted.

Why what? Why shut the feck up?

1) Because it will be clear that the team is perfectly good enough (if that was already in question).

2) Because it would show that the manager really does know what he is doing (as if that was already in question).

3) Because it would show that we will continue to win things under the current ownership (as if that was already in question).

Could the lack of Green and Gold be simply down to the warmer weather, or is that a bit too obvious

The Glazers fiscal policies are affecting the team far more than any campaign, fact

Probably doesn't help, but the general hype that was around last season has almost disappeared. There are various reasons for this including lack of bid from RK and vocal boycotters abandoning the cause.

Lack of tickets too.

The Eight Bells was full of G&G.

I saw a few lads with a massive G&G banner who had arrived there since about 11:30. They most probably weren't in the ground as I'd have spotted the banner.

There will be more at the home game.

Regardless of tickets or whatever, the momentum of the campaign has been lost for now.

A few times in this thread someone has said, "a few more results like today...." as an example of uniteds decline. What, a draw at fulham where we've lost two years in a row? You do know that we've failed to win our first two games in 9 of the last 11 title winning seasons?

to be fair, Rich, i was all in opposition the anti-Glazer brigade until yesterday. But that match has opened my eyes to the error of my ways.

If it weren't for the Glazers then we wouldn't need Park at the club, only here to sell shirts in Korea because of the debt.

If it weren't for the Glazers forcing Ronaldo out of the club because of the debt then he would have been on instead of Valencia and he'd have scored the penalty.

If it weren't for the Glazers skimping on staff wage cuts because of the debt then we'd have had a better doctor that would have cured Rooney's illness.

If it weren't for the Glazers and the debt we'd have just bought Bobby Zamora and Brede Hangerland before the game and they'd have been playing for us rather than against us.

If it weren't for the Glazers interfering with footballing matters because of the debt then Johnny Evans would have stayed on his post.

I see it clearly now; when we win it's because of SAF's genius and has absolutely nothing to do with the Glazers, but when we don't win it's all the fault of the Glazers and the debt and their raping of our once glorious club.

This makes me pleased about results like yesterday. Afterall, United > Trophies, so i can celebrate results that don't go our way because each one takes us one step closer to getting those yank cnuts out of our club once and for all.

I'm a real United supporter, not like you plastic 'so called' fans; I support United properly by wanting them to lose.

It is, exactly. I'm clued-up now; i've taken my head out of the sand and come so realise that every little problem at United is the fault of the Glazers. I find it odd that i've not noticed before now; i thought the fact that everything was so perfect pre-2005 and everything has been so utter shite ever since would have given it away; but no, i just hadn't put two and two together.

I think you should join myself, M13, fred and the gang in supporting any team but United; it's the only way to truly support United.

You have to remember that onfield success is no kind of success at all in football; the real success is in having owners that you don't think are yank cnuts; that's what the game was invented for and that's what being a United fan is all about - well, unless you're some kind of lowest of the low glory supporters of course. The real league table is the table listing rank of popularity amongst club owners, and unfortunately we're right down near the bottom. That's why we need to hope that the team lose and we drop down the insignificant 'Premier League table' (that's the one the glory-supporters follow) so we can rise up in the owner popularity table and truly be recognised as the greatest football team in the land.

Makes sense, huh?
