Done.Ill take that bet.
Done.Ill take that bet.
He wont leave now, if he were to go in the summer the entire United board Gill and Sir alex would look like desperate and lying muppets, gills comments live on Sky moments after Rooney signed that new deal about how we're not in the business of selling our best players would, well, be shown up as lies to be blunt, i doubt he'd have gone on SSN beaming at having got a new deal for Rooney if all it were was a stop gap agreement.....he'd keep well out the way and wouldn't even make such comments, there would not have been the euphoria around the hierarchy if this were all just a your going soon but stay for now agreement, and the glazers would lose an asset they simply cant afford to, if there were any truth in this being a mere keep him sweet for 6 months then flog him for big dosh i doubt wed have heard that sorta stuff from Gill or Sir alex, why make such comments if you know full well your going to go back on them in 6 months and look a complete buffoon? why go to the hassle of getting the owners involved if he's going in 6 months? If Rooney was leaving in the summer why would we give him a 5 year deal? Just give him a 2-3 year deal and get done with it.
And with rooney saying all this stuff that he "could never imagine leaving" which might be crap but he would not go about saying all that and then leave. And he already saw how the world reacted to his "move". I doubt he's going to leave now. It will take him ages to repair his reputation and he won't be able to live safely in Manchester or atleast without some fear.
I bet his gullible personal fanbois will fall for it.

Sir Alex even said convincing Rooney to stay proved how Manchester United are the biggest club in the world, does that sound like someone who's planned to flog said player in 6 months for a few extra quid?
Nah it wont happen, i was far from happy with Rooneys actions, he acted like a cnut, and he has a lot of work to do to win back the fans but i think those who've convinced themselves hes off in the summer are the ones who feel they can never forgive him and had convinced themselves he had basically already gone, its a comment of anger as much as anything, i can understand it but it wont happen.
And he didn't sell to Calderon and his cronies did he...."I wouldn't sell that mob a virus"

When are 'celebrities' gonna start living their own lives and stop making every decision based on the previous days tabloid headline?Daily Star: Simply The Best 7 Days A Week :: News :: WAYNE AND COLEEN WED AGAIN
COLEEN and Wayne Rooney will renew their wedding vows now their marriage is back on track.
Exactly. And he thought 'yeah, I'll do that. But I'm a greedy bastard I can make a shedload more moving to City on a free, but yeah feck it....I'll sign a 5 year contract, just because I'm an ungrateful bastard'.
Makes sense.
A lady in Asda felt that "spoilt brat" Rooney deserved a good slap on the backside....."Don’t you think me and Wayne deserved this break after everything?"
Well you probably did, Colleen...
What would it matter whether its written as 2-3 years or 5, if he was leaving in the summer? Seeing as he wouldnt be staying that long and wouldnt receive the wages, the only difference would be that we could ask for more money for him seeing as he's on a long contractIf Rooney was leaving in the summer why would we give him a 5 year deal? Just give him a 2-3 year deal and get done with it.

I think if he was really off in the summer Fergie and Gill would have not gone to the extent they have talking about how great this news is for United and how it shows they can compete etc. What would it matter whether its written as 2-3 years or 5, if he was leaving in the summer? SAF as come out and said that he will be out longer than the 3 weeksSo...he's not actually injured then?
I reckon she is just biding her time waiting for the right moment and then she will take him to the cleaners kinda like Ray Parlour's ex did with him. I doubt that these two will still be married when Ronney is 32Well at least Coleen seems to talk sense. Lets be fair about this, if she did leave Wayne, she'd have more than enough money to carry on her lifestyle so fair play to her for sticking with the great big nobhead.
Some generous words there from Cristiano. After expressing his desire to follow Ronaldo out of Old Trafford, Rooney, who is currently sidelined by injury, completed a volte face and agreed a new five-year deal worth in the region of £200,000-a-week.
Rooney has been plagued by poor form since March and has not scored a goal for United in open play for seven months.
In contrast Ronaldo is enjoying his richest vein of form since he moved for a world record fee to Real Madrid last year, scoring nine goals in his last four appearances for the Spanish club.
And the Portuguese believes now that his future is settled, Rooney too can quickly return to the devastating form that saw him named player of the year last season.
“Wayne has not started this season very well but he is still a fantastic player and I know that very soon he will be back to show that,” Ronaldo said.
“He has made his decision to stay with United and sign a new contract and we must all respect that. It’s not my position to give him advice on that. But I know that things can change very quickly indeed.
“[This season] didn’t start this season very well, either. But it is difficult to play at the highest level all the time. I just stayed calm, worked hard and did my job for the team and suddenly I scored a few goals and everything changed.
“Football is like that. Sometimes we play bad and then you score a goal and everyone thinks differently about you. That will happen for Wayne.”
After dominating English and European football in the period when Ronaldo was in Manchester, United have seen their place at the summit of the Premier League wrestled off them by Chelsea since the Portuguese left.
However, Ronaldo insists there is enough quality at Old Trafford to reverse that situation, especially as they still have Sir Alex Ferguson at the helm.
“When I was in England Manchester United won many titles, trophies and cups,” Ronaldo said. “Last year they didn’t win anything special and this time they don’t play so good, but this is just a moment.
“We have to give United time to find themselves again. Although their style is similar, they have bought some different players and they have not always been at 100 per cent.
“But I am sure that they will be good again very soon.
“For five years I enjoyed working with Sir Alex Ferguson. I always had a good relationship with him and now I think of him as my friend as well as a great manager.”

...deal already done with Madrid for the summer?"He has made his decision to stay with United and sign a new contract and we must all respect that. But I know that things can change very quickly indeed.
Indeedy.I think if he was really off in the summer Fergie and Gill would have not gone to the extent they have talking about how great this news is for United and how it shows they can compete etc.
They'll be made to look like real fools if Rooney ends up leaving now. I vry much doubt he'll leave.
It's that unlimited choice of willing employers that struck me, because what we're actually talking about is a very limited choice indeed.Yet the affair showed that United need Rooney more than he needs them. True, it would be hard for Rooney to move to another English club: uncomprehending fans would make his life a misery. And he seems poorly equipped to move to Spain. Rooney once scored zero per cent on a Spanish exam at school, and Spain is far from his clan. Still, he does have an unlimited choice of willing employers.
United, by contrast, are short of superstars. The club may never have been so dependent on one player. Previously Ferguson has always been happy to lose great players who had broken the father-son compact: Ronaldo, Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Roy Keane. Yet he cannot afford to lose Rooney. United have several ageing players who will need replacing soon: Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Rio Ferdinand and Edwin van der Sar. The talent in the club’s pipeline tends to disappoint: United has produced no great youth player since Beckham’s generation emerged 15 years ago. The club’s frugal owners, the Glazer family, limit spending on new players. Without Rooney, United look a little thin.
I agree.I think that extract is spot on. We were more desperate to keep him than he was to stay on. Rooney's our poster boy, losing him would've meant that we'd have needed to replace more than just a quality player.
Fair enough, relating to the commerce and image side of it, it made good sense. But it's a case of biding our time. It's only time before another pops up. Rooney's just one of many the clubs had. But this was peculiar moment for the club where I guess the player leaving would have hurt the image greatly.I agree.
Rooney is the only poster boy both United and England possess. United were far too desperate keep Rooney, and with good reason. Just imagine him moving to City and the likely consequences of losing the next generation of local kids/fans to City.
