Anybody remember Javier De Pedro from Real Sociedad? He disappeared into nowhere not long after Real Sociedads fantastic season. Very strange.

Michael Johnson of Manchester City. Was supposed to be England's next great midfielder when he burst onto the scene a couple years ago. I can't even remember the last time he played. Is he even still at City?

Yeah, but his knee is basically in his ankle now, injuries have killed a potentially great career.

No, it was definitely his knee.
No it wasn't, there was picture after picture of him being very overweight, after his first injury, because of drinking, plus Mark Hughes's obvious dissatisfaction, maybe you can write a captivating blog about it.

There was a young striker at Spurs a few years ago, Kane I think it was. I think he had to retire before 20

Djordjic, he even won our young player of the year award. I don't even know if he is still playing football

What's that Merida doing now adays? I know he was highly rated at Arsenal

Quaresma

Antonio Núñez

Ilsinho. Brilliant young fullback-turned-winger, another Shakhtar gem. Scored a memorable 89th-minute winner for them two years ago to send them to the UEFA Cup final. Was sure he'd be in for a transfer to one of the major leauges, but he dropped off the radar and now, still just 25, he's back at Sao Paolo and I haven't heard anything about him at all.

Here's the goal...

MaYoMo – Shakhtar - Dynamo Kyiv 2:1 Ilsinho's Goal

Also, Petr Cech. Maybe a stretch, he is still #1 at one of the biggest clubs in the world, but he's half the player he was before Stephen Hunt brained him. Before that, he was impenetrable, the most feared keeper in the world. He's not been seriously in the discussion of "best keepers" since he's been wearing the bonnet.

After leaving Betis he went to france, Flamengo, Palmeiras, even the MLS, I think he's in China right now
No he isn't. IIRC he signed for a Vietnamese team in 2009 and turned into a joke. I think he joined some Greek club this year but was sacked soon after.

Merida is at Atletico Madrid, Quaresma is shining at Besiktas. Antonio Nunez is just crap.

Nuri Sahin. We were linked to him when he was 16 after he made his début for Dortmund at a ridiculously young age, around the time we missed out on Obi Mikel. He was meant to be the next big thing. Just gone completely off the radar now I think. He might still be at Dortmund but I haven't heard anything about him since about 2006. Still time though I guess if he's only 20 or so.

You not seen him this season? He's been excellent. Almost back to pre lobotomy form

One of the most impressive players in the Dortmund side that has brilliant this season, currently at the top of the table.

Sergio Asenjo was supposed to be an up-and-coming Keeper at Atletico but De Gea has the spotlight now, what happened there?!

igor biscan
anthony le tallec
alexi smertin
kleberson
Kleberson is doing very well at Flamengo. He was in the 23-man squad of Brazil in this World Cup.

Biscan is now the captain of Dinamo Zagreb. I watched him play in the Europa League last week.

Smertin became a politician after being released by Fulham. I think he is an MP of a Russian state now.

Le Tallec was loaned to five clubs by the dippers over 7 seasons. Not sure if that's kind of a record.
