Then you should have no complaints when they poach them back after they become good enough. This Arsenal team really has the makings of a great one if you guys bought a defense and gk, but losing Fabregas will set you back badly, you dont lose your talisman and get better, which pleases me, that said I think it will be interesting to see how the league goes next year, Chelsea will be busy, Arsenal will most likely lose Cesc and spend some, City will go big, hopefully United finally pulls out the chequebook and splashes the cash because we could really use some help in midfield.
I will have no complaints when they poach him back. United fans seem to be more upset about the way barca has tapped up fabregas then Arsenal fans.

Arsenal have a great future if they build their team around him.. this fella is a cracking little player and seems to have quite a tough mentality as well, especially in the big games. He easily can go on to be one of the best midfielders in the world. Our midfield problems would be solved in a heartbeat if we had him :(

He was good tonight alright. Better than Fabregas anyway.

His similarity to Scholes is uncanny. I love his tenacity on the pitch.

We all knew of his quality on the ball but I thought he showed the traits of a leader out there tonight, plus he set up what should have been the winner if Bendtner wasn't such a cab horse.

Yeah, see this is what I meant when I made the thread.

Tonight he was very very average. I mean he's young, so you'd expect it, but he didn't do anything out of the ordinary. They had a video package of him after the match which included him giving the ball away FFS.

A bit reckless with his tackling, hopefully he matures in that regard as I'd hate someone so young and talented to be branded!

Cracking future. Big balls aswell, never stopped trying, even in injury time he set up big nicklas.

I really like him.

But he does at times get praised for just being himself.

Gave away the ball too cheaply far too often for my liking, but in a game like that you wouldn't expect any different from a 19 year old regardless of how talented they are. He shouldn't have been playing really.

That said, he showed great determination. Looks like a winner as well as a potentially superb footballer.

He is 19 and gave a good account of himself, he is going to become a good footballer - I wish Carrick had his self belief. Coped well under pressure at times.

Arsenal fans great! Sorry about the result, good luck to Barca, great team! Oh yeah and the ref was good aswell....

I noticed that too. I guess it was the ref that kept Arsenal from getting a single shot on/off target all match...:houllier:

He was very good tonight considering he might as well have been playing on his own in the middle for Arsenal.

We have many fans here who support Arsenal too from what I have noticed.

Arsenal's best player yesterday (maybe with the exception of the keeper), I'd love us to break the bank for him.

I think he will be Arsenal's captain within next two-three years. I used to think he is a little bit over-rated but his displays over the past month has been brilliant, probably Arsenal's best player in the last two months or so.

Was it me, but I felt like Wilshere was there leader, ran and gave absolutely everything he had...

They should cut out those stupid risky passes near their box though, it caused their own downfall and Barca's pressing was top notch.

I'm sure that's exactly what Wenger said at half time

I've got a pretty little mouth underneath all the
What surprised me most was his legs. He was everywhere, it was so difficult for Arsenal to pick passes so i can forgive him for the times he lost it but his desire and fight. His turn of pace, tackling and even running with the ball trying to relieve pressure were all very impressive for one so young.

hate to say it but this kids got it.

Massive cnut...but one with a steely determination, never say die attitude, and a whole lot of skill.

Players with a lot more experience than him gave up last night with 15 minutes still to go, despite the fact, if somehow Arsenal could fluke a goal, Barca would be screwed(hey, they fluked the 1st goal didn't they?) but he kept trying to win the ball back, trying to start something going forward...and the pass to the loser Bendtner could have been one for the ages, if he had converted.

Not to be...I'm thinking we're going to be seeing a lot of Wilshere in the future, and he'll cause us plenty of heartache in his time.

Technically he's very good. Was watching the game last night and I thought to myself, he'd be amazing in that barca midfield with xavi and iniesta. And as somebody else has mentioned, he doesnt take shit from anyone. Great player arsenal have!

How is he a massive cnut?

I would understand if he went in too hard on a United player but do tell.
He has little man syndrome.

Our very own Fletch has it too...gets in peoples faces at times for no reason.

As Wilshere gets older this will only increase...but as I said, who cares?

Great fight/drive/hunger, and best of all, loads of talent to go with it..almost the perfect combination.

With the potential of the Wilshere/Ramsey/Nasri triumvirate, Arsenal should drive Cesc to Barca themselves for the kind of fee being bandied about.
