Liverpool FC (nicknamed The Reds) are an English professional football club based in Liverpool, England. Liverpool were originally founded in 1892 as "Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd" (Everton Athletic for short), before finalizing on the name Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd after a dispute between the Everton FC board and John Houlding, the owner of Everton's former premise at Anfield Road. Liverpool's forays into competitive football started when they joined the Lancashire League. After winning the league title in their first season, Liverpool were accepted into the Football League for the 1893-94 season, following the resignations of Accrington and Bootle.

One of the most successful and storied clubs in the history of European football, Liverpool have won 18 English league titles, 6 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, and 8 League Cups, peaking in the 1970s and 1980s, first under the enigmatic Bill Shankly, and then his 'Boot Room' successors. Although Liverpool's fortunes as a domestic and European force have dwindled in the past 25 seasons, they still have a massive global support-base. Liverpool have two fierce historic rivals - crosstown club Everton FC (matches between them are termed The Merseyside Derby), and Manchester United.

Oh yay it's everybody's favorite fixture!

No Keita or Milner for us. Fabinho, Matip & Shaqiri should be available. Sounds like Lovren is a no as well.
We will get destroyed. Probably a record of some sort. 8:0.
It never goes like that. I think we're favorites but the best we'll manage is a 2-0 win. Still wary of your threat on the counter.

Our threat on the counter hobbled off today.

Would be funny if Utd takes points off Liverpool again. It'd be the first time they'll drop points since...the game at Old Trafford.

Let's just get this inevitable twatting out of the way and beat Burnley to bounce back.

With Rashford fit, I would have given us a 1% chance of getting something.

It's a difficult fixture, not because it's Liverpool, but more because Chelsea has an easier game at Newcastle. City receives Palace and Arsenal receives Sheffield United (that might be harder than expected). Spurs at Watford, I don't know what to expect as of now.

The players have to fight and be clinical, but Liverpool is also a counter attacking team so let's see what happens.

    We're gonna get spanked.

    Easy 3-0 to pool

You guys reckon you'll line up with the same formation as the game at Old Trafford? Seemed like that was pretty effective against us earlier in the season.

2 steps forward so I guess this is the step back for us.

Hopefully Rashford is fit to start.

    De Gea
    Defence
    Fred - Matic
    James - Andreas - Rashford
    Martial

I now trust any team chosen under OGS to give their all, especially in big games like this.

Am expecting a loss, maybe even a big one.

And if that happens, I wont lose my shit, nor think its a disgrace, nor think OGS deserves to be sacked for being beaten, as its against one of best sides ever assembled in PL history, SAF teams included.

We aren't good enough to do much here, especially as we're usually shit at Anfield anyway. Hope for a draw, probably something like a 3-1. Hope it's not a hammering.

We need to go three in middle. Fred, matic and Pereira. I reckon Mata starts with martial and if rashford isn't fit then mason or James.

Wth the form between the two and United likely without 3 of their best players this should be a comfortable win for Liverpool but I won't be surprised if Liverpool get another lucky win via a defensive error, VAR or a dodgy last minute penalty.

This is the sort of game where McT is a real miss for us.

Go with the normal back four, Matic Fred and Andreas with James Rashford and Martial up top.

Pray its not over after 20 minutes.

If, against the odds, we do happen to win this, we will probably then go and drop points at home to Burnley. That's the sort of season we're having right now and I expect anything can happen in this game.

I haven't wanted 3 points more than this in ages. It would be so, so sweet to win this.
