Brentford Football Club (nicknamed The Bees) is a professional football club based in Brentford, West London, England. The club was founded in October 1889, as the local sportsmen's latest attempt to form a permanent football or rugby club in the town. By 1896, Brentford had joined the London League, progressing to the Southern League in 1898 and entering the Football League in 1920. Upon the appointment of Harry Curtis as manager in 1926 came the beginning of Brentford's most successful period, with promotions in 1933 and 1935 taking the club into the top-flight of English football for the first time in its history. Three consecutive top-six finishes in the First Division established Brentford as one of the top clubs in England, but a decline began in 1938 which led to the club's relegation back to the Third Division South by 1954.

Recently, after two failed playoff campaigns in six Championship seasons, Brentford were promoted into the Premier League after victory in the 2021 Championship play-off Final (reaching the highest level of the English football pyramid for the first time since the 1946–47 season). Brentford's main rivals are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers. The club have a long standing rivalry with Fulham. In the past this fixture has been marred by crowd violence. Brentford's rivalry with Queens Park Rangers intensified in 1967, when Rangers failed in an attempted takeover of the Bees, a move which, had it succeeded, would have seen Rangers move into Griffin Park and Brentford quit the Football League. Brentford play their home games at the Brentford Community Stadium.

A draw at best. Not even sure if we're capable of that. We've won 3 games of football since mid February.

Looking at our fixtures, no idea where our first win is going to come. Southampton in week 4 if we can exploit their defensive issues? If not then surely Leeds in week 8?

Same as last season, the apathy in terms of looking forward to the next match continues.

How many players can we sign by the next fixture?
It could only be the absolute perfect player according to some on here. The thought of bringing in a good player and letting the manager elevate them to another level is a lost concept apparently.

I think we could grab a win here somehow. Good old fashion luck and a free kick from the Danish wizard might do it

No Rashford and no McFred, please! Start Ronaldo. Sancho on the right, Garnacho on the left. Eriksen in deep. Start VdB, too. Start Shaw and sub Malacia in earlier.

Do that, maybe we scrape by and get the 3 points.

Nothing will be easy this season.
I think we will be ok. I’m frustrated today too but its just one game against a team that seems to have our number + DDG made an error today. It is slightly worrying that we didnt play with urgency, but again we knew this wasn’t gonna change overnight.

We’re a better team than brentford, we will beat them.

Start the young guns. Garnacho for Rashford, Iqbal for McT. I would keep Bruno on the bench as well.

Bruno was up there with McFred as one of our worst players on the pitch.

I'd bring Lindelof or Varane back in for Martinez for this. Expecting another defeat.

Going to lose my fecking mind if McFred starts again.
Who do you reckon we can start instead of them? Pretty sure FDJ is not going to be signing within this week. At least one of them is going to start if not both. We are fecked with our midfield options.

Anyone else has to be better than the two of them. Anyone.

Garner, Iqbal, hell even Martinez would be better in there. I cannot stomach watching them again for another minute.

3-1 United. No Mct or Rashford will do the trick.

The Brentford fans will be licking their lips in anticipation….their cup final this early in the season. Very worried.

Arnie and De Schlong to make the squad?

Given today's game, what would be your starting line-up for Brentford, assuming the same players are available for selection?

    Here's my take:

    De Gea
    Dalot - Martinez - Varane - Malacia
    DvB - Garner - Eriksen
    Sancho - Ronaldo - Garnacho

And we need somebody on the bench to sub Ronaldo. Amad still around?

    De Gea
    Dalot Varane Martinez Malacia
    Fred
    Donny Eriksen
    Sancho Ronaldo Rashford

Would do something like this. Shaw, Maguire, McTominay... Why expect anything from them? Too many glaring weaknesses. Bruno also, he needs to rediscover himself. Play Eriksen and Donny as a pair in front of Fred, some hope for something to work there.

Let's play the players, who are actually able to receive and pass the ball, without either losing it or taking 68 touches to control the ball.
Get some movement in midfield, so the defenders actually have options. And hopefully Sancho & Rashford are ready to play some football again, instead of just being at the pitch for fun.

    I would go with
    De Gea
    Dalot - Maguire - Martinez - Malacia
    Donny - Eriksen
    Sancho - Bruno - Rashford
    Ronaldo

Why bench Sancho but not Rashford?

I think I'm near the point where if I see McFred starting I'll skip the match completely.
