Athletic Club Omonia Nicosia, commonly known as Omonia Nicosia or Omonia (Harmony) and nicknamed Η Βασίλισσα (The Queen), is a Cypriot professional multi-sport club, established on 4 June 1948 in Nicosia. On 23 May 1948, the governing board of APOEL football club sent a telegram to the Hellenic Association of Amateur Athletics (Σ.Ε.Γ.Α.Σ.), stating its wish for what it described as the "communist mutiny" to be ended. Club players considering this action as a specifically political comment on the Greek Civil War distanced themselves from the board and were duly expelled from APOEL. On 4 June 1948, Dr. Mattheos Papapetrou organized a meeting in Nicosia that led to the creation of Omonia. Many players expelled from APOEL were present at the meeting and joined the new club. Along with other left-wing teams such as Nea Salamina, Alki Larnaca and Orfeas Nicosia, Omonia helped create the Cyprus Amateur Football Federation in December 1948. Omonia took part in the CAFF league until 1953, having won four out of five played championships and five out of five played cups. Omonia was then accepted by the Cyprus Football Association to participate in the Cypriot First Division.

After joining the Cypriot First Division, Omonia only placed seventh out of nine teams in the 1953–54 season, barely avoiding relegation. During that decade, the club's best placing came during the 1956–57 season when the club finished in the third position. The team would make its closest push for the title during the 1959–60 season after finishing second. The following year, after seven seasons in the First Division, the club would win its first title in 1960–61 season. Omonia won seven league titles in the 1970s, six of them were consecutive (1974–1979). At the end of the decade, Omonia had a total of nine championship titles and three cups. The 1980s was also a successful decade for the club as it won an additional seven Cypriot League Championship titles including another five consecutive in 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, and in 1987 and in 1989. Altogether Omonia has won 21 National Championships, 15 cups, and a record of 17 super cups, and is one of three Cypriot clubs to never have been relegated to the second division. The club plays its homes games at Gymnastic Club "The Pancyprians" Stadium (GSP Stadium).

Just get the first XI out there and sort this shit out. Only decisions should be Shaw or Malacia and Sancho or Antony.

An opportunity to bounce back, but you never really know these days. No Varane could be trouble, however. Sancho and Rashford should be dropped. Good thing is both EL away games will be done with after this.

    2:1 win.

De Gea, Malacia, Martinez, Lindelof, Dalot, Casemiro, Fred, Bruno, Elanga, Martial, Antony.

Give Eriksen a rest, don’t want to see McTominay, Sancho and Rashford.

I'm seeing this as the start of a block of four fixtures (Omonia/Everton/Omonia/Newcastle) we need to use to get all our new players integrated and the team gelling before we face Spurs and Chelsea.

Given the break we had as well, should be our on-paper first choice eleven with the likes of Casemiro playing.

    AWB - Lindelöf - Martinez - Malacia

    Antony - Bruno - Elanga
    Ronaldo

Martial to come off the bench again. Think we should be cautious and manage his play time.

United's primary focus should be winning the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League. I will watch keenly every Europa League game this season :)

Hope to see Ronaldo, Fred, DVB etc getting some minutes. Expecting a big win and a reaction from the City game.

In the office Thursday. Will probably go straight the gym from work and miss most of this. I doubt I'll miss much.

why the feck are people naming Ronaldo. We need to win. Martial or at a push Rashford have to be up top.
We will need him, Martial is unreliable.

Better try and get to play him into some form.

There isn’t any form. He’s done. Forget about him.

Martial has done more in 75 minutes than Ronaldo has in around 500 this season. So who’s more reliable
They are both unreliable, there is no unreliable olympics.

We will need whatever quality there is left in the squad.

Martial scored 2 goals today in a short space of time.

Ronaldo has looked at best average. Maguire is also reliable fitness wise but we shouldn't have been relying on him.

No way sancho, Bruno or Mctominay should play.

    De Gea
    AWB Lindeloff Jones Shaw
    Casimiro
    Fred Zidane
    Antony Ronaldo Martial

We need to rotate and use the squad, see who is hungry enough to play big games.

I agree with you, but we also have to use the squad. Martial is coming back from an injury and I'd sooner see Ronaldo starting a match like this than one of the league games.

5% of people think we're winning 9-0, watch us get beat 1-0 now :p

Just want Ronaldo, Martial and Casemiro to get minutes ...I guess Lindelof and Shaw as well. Need to get some players into form and up and running. The team vs City pretty much picked itself not only because it had played well previously but because the challenge for places hasn't been great so far.

He would have anyway, but from ETH's post-match comments it's the end of the run in the team for some players. Casemiro has to start starting games - I think we'll see this now.
Didn't watch because I was raging since yesterday but will definitely watch now. Keen to know who he's referring to.

I expect Shaw to start and to deliver a good performance. He usually bounces back in the face of competition for his spot.

Would rotate here. Shouldn't be a difficult game.

    Dubravka
Wan Bissaka - Lindelof - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro - Fred
    Elanga - Bruno - Sancho
    Ronaldo

Bring Martial on later since he should start vs Everton.

This except not Elanga starting for me, I'd even give Garnacho a go as I think this season he has shown more

Agree mostly with this XI, except De Gea should start and Shaw should start.

Rashford and Martial off the bench
