Liverpool Football Club (nicknamed The Reds) are an English professional football club based in Liverpool, England. Liverpool were originally founded in 1892 as "Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd" (Everton Athletic for short), before finalizing on the name Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd. after a dispute between the Everton FC board and John Houlding, the owner of Everton's former premise at Anfield Road.

Liverpool's forays into competitive football started when they joined the Lancashire League. After winning the league title in their first season, Liverpool were accepted into the Football League for the 1893-94 season, following the resignations of Accrington and Bootle. Liverpool reached its first FA Cup Final in 1914, losing 1–0 to Burnley. It won consecutive League championships in 1922 and 1923, but did not win another trophy until the 1946–47 season, when the club won the First Division for a fifth time under the control of ex-West Ham Utd centre half George Kay.

One of the most successful and storied clubs in the history of European football, Liverpool have won 19 English league titles, 6 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, and 8 League Cups, peaking in the 1970s and 1980s, first under the enigmatic Bill Shankly, and then his Boot Room successors Bob Pailsey, Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish. Liverpool have two fierce historic rivals: crosstown club Everton FC (matches between them are termed The Merseyside Derby), and Manchester United (stemming from the success of both teams as well as the cities' competition in the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century).

I'd be delighted with a draw. I hate games at Anfield more than anything.

We have nothing to lose in the Premier League with our position. Players rested, good form, Fans behind the team. Lets go and get at them.

Same team that played the final.

All our strengths played into their weaknesses. Only way we lose this is if we don’t turn up

on our current form i see no reason why we cant get all 3 points. Liverpool are erratic this season, they won tonight but were badly embarrassed at hime by RM last week.

Pressure is more on them than it is on us. Hopefully we get a result just to really pile the pressure on.

We are a better team than them but it's Anfield and our run is bound to come to an end it feels like. We always suck at Anfield. Hope we smash them. But not the end of the world whatever happens.

Glad we've got Casemiro back for this.

Don't think we'll win though. Anfield is not easy

We can either lose and give them huge momentum for too 4 like we did a couple seasons back. Or beat them and keep them lurking around in no-mans land.

Or there’s the draw too I suppose.

We just need to show the same courage and effort as we do against any other team, not be afraid of them because its pool at Anfield. If we do that i'm confident we will get the 3 points.

More important game for them than us. Would be nice to dent their top four aspirations.

Madrid aside they seem to be finding their feet again and as much as I want a borderline scandalous decision to beat them 1-0 in 98th minute, I'd take a draw.

    1-1

Even in some seasons where we won the league relatively comfortably and our level was much higher than Liverpool's, Anfield was sometimes tricky. The 08/09 and 10/11 seasons come to mind. A point would be good, a win amazing.

As for starting line-up, I would go with.

    DDG
    AWB - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro - Fred
    Antony - Bruno - Rashford
    Weghorst

I'd take a draw at Anfield any season but we have a great chance for a win. Second half team vs Newcastle to start. We just have to keep our heads and weather the early storm. As time goes on, they'll be more desperate and we can get one on the counter. Once we get one they'll crumble.

Or we'll concede a dodgy penalty and lose 3-0. I hate Anfield.

Bring em on. First time in years I haven't been terrified of us going to Anfield. I have never enjoyed this game, but the last few years were rough. We may lose, but at least we go there on Sunday thinking we might win!

Antony & Garnacho off the bench against tired legs.

Best form we’ve been in going to Anfield in years. A draw would be a good result but we are very capable of winning there on Sunday in the current form.

They’ll raise their game to 70’s Brazil these cnuts.

I’d snatch your hand off if you offered me a draw right now. Which wouldn’t be a bad result - if City beat Newcastle and we get a point here then Top 4 is in the bag.

They'll be desperate for a significant scalp to kick-start their top 4 push. Would fecking love a jammy 1-0 97th minute Weghorst winner at the Kop end. Preferably with it being our first shot on target.

Unfortunately I'll have to make do with a comfortable 3-1 counter-attacking master class of a win

Would like this team. Think Antony gives us good balance on the right side. Varane, Shaw and Fred will be fresh, Martinez, Casemiro and Rashford to a large extent too. Brun o is the one that plays all the time so worried it could effect his performance in this game.

We have struggled at Anfield even in best of times unfortunately so this should be difficult one again.

Get the feeling we'll draw this one, probably shuts up all this talk of us potentially being in the title race which most of us know we aren't. Draw is an OK result though provided we lash Southampton at home.

Team almost picks itself as long as Shaw is back fit. Only question marks I'd say would be does Antony start or do we move Bruno to the right and go with Sabitzer, McTominay or even Garnacho? Think I'd rather we just went with Antony but I'd understand wanting an extra midfield player or letting Garnacho go at Trent.

Team picks itself for the most part, but I think I'd go with AWB instead of Dalot for this one.

    De Gea

    Shaw
    Martinez
    Varane
    AWB

    Casemiro
    Fred

    Rashford
    Bruno
    Antony

    Weghorst

2-0, Rashford and Garnacho with a dagger late

I'm sure the nerves will arrive by Sunday and the pre-match build up, but I'm currently a lot more relaxed about an upcoming league game after 3 must win cup matches on the trot.

We're 11 points behind Arsenal so, realistically, the big thing about the league this season is securing top 4 rather than pulling off an unlikely league title. So I'm much more nervous about the remaining cup games as winning another would make an already great season even more amazing.

But it's Liverpool, at Anfield, so I'm sure whatever my head says that, come Sunday, I'll be so nervous hoping we don't lose to the gits.
