I'm going to this at the cost of about £200. If it's 0-0 I'll cry.

    Mata - Rooney - Lingard

If Wayne Rooney absolutely must play then that has to be the team. The only good thing about this is that he seems to have a good understanding with Schweinsteiger, moving them closer together might help. I doubt it though. In an ideal world Depay would be fit and we could get rid of the fat scouse chancer and move Mata behind Martial but it won't happen.

Is what I hope to see. Or Memphis for Lingard and hope he pulls his head out of his ass a bit. Or Pereira in. Either way... We don't need to be so defensive as long as we have Schneiderlin in defensive mid. Herrera next to him is fine. Schweinsteiger is probably tired as he's played a lot since joining.

Memphis will probably start (if not still injured), generally been good in Europe.

The majority of supporters are turning against LVG now and the "attack" chants will be echoing around the ground if we don't score early. I just hope we reach double figures in terms of shots.

    In an apple vacuum...
Feck, another match... so soon? We need an international break.
What? Last season was a rarity where we only had one match a week because of no European football and getting knocked out of the League Cup in the 2nd round. The players should be able to cope, we only just had an international break and the next one after this isn't until March.

It was more to do with me (jokingly) dreading another bore of a football match.

0-0 or 1-1 with LvG team. 3-1 with mine.

Van Gaal will talk a great game in the presser then preside over a bore fest and then spout nonsense for why we didn't win and how it's a still a prochess. Hopefully Jones will be out of the red zone and I never thought I'd say this but I hope Valencia is back.
Rooney won't be dropped unless someone injures him in training...fingers crossed...joking, kind of.

    My wishful but unlikely team

    Valencia Jones Smalling Rojo
    ------Schneiderlin BFS

    I predict:

First ten minutes we looks shaky with spells of possession.
After those first 10 minutes we pass around aimlessly for another 10 minutes before they quickly catch us on the counter and we are saved by one of Smalling or De Gea.
During a corner one of the opposition gets a header in but De Gea bails us out again.
Another corner, this time we counter using the fantastic pace of Schweinsteiger and Mata.
The counter fails, so we pass it backwards and the sideways till we get a corner.
Corner is scored luckily by Smalling or Schneiderlin.
We pass them to death till the half ends.

Second half starts off well. We get into the box but of course Rooney misses.
We dominate possession till the 70th minute when Fellaini comes on for no obvious reason. We hoof up to him a while.
In the 79th minute Martial dribbles passed two players scores.
For the next few minutes they continually attack but fail, making us look very shaky.
We get the ball and pass sideways till the match ends.

Funny post that. However I don't think it will be that exciting myself.

Rooney needs to be dropped, enough is enough.

    -----------------De Gea---------------
    Valencia (If fit)-----Smalling----Blind----Rojo

    -----------Carrick----Schneiderlin---------

    Young----------Mata/Herrera--------Pereira
    ----------------Martial-----------------

Time to introduce some more width. How Pereira hasn't featured more is beyond me. Has shown more promise than Lingard as well. Give Depay some minutes as well, he really needs to find his best form soon, we need him.
