    Not another damn international break!

Mata's done more than enough to justify starting this game, and hopefully Herrera is back too, we've missed his dynamism in midfield.

    2-1 to United I reckon.

On one side, Arsenal would crush the Manchester United that played against Palace.

On the other side... 3-3. Against Anderlecht. At home. After leading 3-0.

Could go either way. Let's hope we have
    a) Falcao
    b) Jones
    c) The balls to drop van Persie

This side would be enough to win against Arsenal, I reckon.

    DDG
    Rafael - Jones - McNair - Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera - Di Maria
    Mata
    Rooney - Falcao

But the one we're probably going to field won't.

    DDG
    Valencia - Jones - Evans - Shaw
    Fellaini - Blind
Mata - Rooney - Di Maria
    van Persie

Any chance for any of our injured players being back?

Both teams are very dodgy at the back, not very convincing going forward either, but one has a red hot form player in Sanchez and the other has a out of form player in Di Maria. Not so confident about this one but it's Arsenal at the end of the day so I'll go 1-1. Herrera and Di Maria in the midfield is a must!

If we play like we did today, 2-0 Arsenal, Sanchez will makes things happen. If we play like we played against Chelsea and City, 2-1 us.

Fecking international break. Hopefully no injuries and a few come back. Hopefully RvP comes back too tired to play, same with Fellaini. Just really hoping they don't play. Score can be anything really. We're not in form but neither are they. Both just a bit meh all around. Mata should keep his spot in the team, but we need Di Maria back in the middle. Play a 4-5-1, Carrick holding, Herrera next to Di Maria and Mata and Valencia out wide.

    De Gea
    Rafael Jones Blind Shaw
    Carrick
Valencia - Herrera - Di Maria - Mata
    Rooney
Oh and I almost forgot. Hopefully the 2 in midfield in front of the holding mid actually play as midfielders and don't charge forward constantly leaving Carrick isolated.

They'll still have some injuries in defence I think. I reckon we'll get a draw out of this simply because for some reason Arsenal can't beat us.

Falcao should be back so I'd like him to play, and I'd love Herrera to come back too. We just can't afford to play like what we did today because Sanchez is just going to punish us.

As international breaks go, this one is welcome. Hopefully we go into the Arsenal game with more players available than we have now.

I'm having de ja vu from saying this before the last international break, largely concerning the usual suspects.

Looking forward to the match, might as well beat them while we're at it, you know to keep the momentum going !
Falcao will be back hopefully with fully fit herrera and jones too so we can stop using midfielders as CBs...

We can win, but I dunno if we will.

    Want to see this...
    de Gea
    Rafael McNair Carrick Shaw
    Blind
    Fellaini di Maria
    Herrera
    van Persie Rooney

Even under Moyes Arsenal could not manage to beat us. However, I have an eerie feeling about this match if we underestimate Arsenal and/or continue our current performance. I expect Sanchez to have his way with our defense with his current form, while Welbeck would want to prove something. But, I still feel we will get something out of this game because van gaal is a > tactician than Wenger.

I was confident we'd get something before the game today now that confidence has been zapped. Have a bad feeling Welbeck will score a couple

If we play with the right tactics we can win this but Smalling might be back :nervous:
I think van Gaal may opt for McNair over Smalling.

If we play as we did against Chelsea and City we'll get something out of this game.

Hopefully arsenal and Swansea draw, it means we will go into the arsenal game only two points behind.

With Smalling back I'd like to see him back alongside McNair, he is the only defender we have who can guarantee us a performance without a run of games behind him. Sadly this game is a step too far for Carrick-McNair because Sanchez and Welbeck could tear us a new one. Carrick and Blind in midfield for extra control and security in midfield but we will also need the tenacity Herrera offers so I would go with-
    Rafa-McNair-Smalling-Shaw
    ------Carrick-----Blind------
    Mata----Herrera----Di Maria
    ----------Rooney-----------

    Our defense against Arsenal's pace....:nervous:

The comforting factor is that they are usually nervous in the big games. Need a win here.

Agree with this formation, if we are going to play with wingers I prefer 4231 than 4141/433. Also Di Maria and Mata could change postions so Mata would play similar to Silva and Di Maria like Robben.
If Falcao is fit Rooney could play some minutes as No.10 and Falcao as striker.

A few players should be back and everybody forget that their players will travel as well. Sanchez has games in south america if I am correct.

If there are no injuries, I expect the team to be

    ----------------------------David-----------------------------
    Rafael------------Smalling-----------Paddy---------Shaw
    -----------------------Carrick----------------------------------
    Mata-----------Rooney-------------Blind----------Di Maria
    ----------------------------RVP---------------------------

Not a great side...but I am hoping to nick the game.

So what celebration are people expecting when Welbeck inevitably scores (probably the winner) against us?

    1. Genuine no celebration (e.g. Denis Law)
    2. A showy "look how much I'm not celebrating" celebration (e.g. Cristiano Ronaldo)
    3. Normal celebration with Arsenal fans/players
    4. The full Ince, in front of the Arsenal fans
    5. The full Ince, in front of LVG (or Sir Alex if he is there, with added Usain Bolt celebration)

I'm thinking 2., but I wouldn't rule out 4. either. I doubt he'll do anything to rival Adebayor against Arsenal a few years ago though.

I can't see us playing the diamond against Arsenal, so I'd like to see us revert to a typical 4-2-3-1.

    DDG
Rafael - Whoever is fit - Shaw
    Carrick - Herrera
Valencia - Mata - Di Maria
    Rooney

This is probably the only game in the world where Welbeck is guaranteed to score.

If Welbeck is to score, he should celebrate. He joined our rivals, any non celebration display would mean nothing.

Sick to death of these International breaks. I bet even the players bloody hate them.

Why not end the season in March/early April then play all International friendlies, qualifiers and tournaments.

I'm sure it'd work out better for International managers too - more training time, less traveling time.

Rather that than breaking up the fecking season every few bloody weeks to play a useless friendly game against San Marino.

I think we will win this game. We've gone head to head with City and Chelsea and looked sharp. Arsenal is significantly worse. And it's Arsenal.

Get Herrera back in and obviously Mata comes in for Januzaj. McNair should keep his place but I'm not sure if Blind and Carrick should switch roleds as Blind did well when Hazard cut in and I'd trust him more against Sanchez than Carrick at this stage.

I hope to feck Falcao is fit to get his season really under way in this match, if not then I'd start Wilson over RvP

    De Gea

    Valencia
    McNair
    Carrick
    Shaw

    Blind
    Herrera
    Di Maria

    Mata
    Falcao

I want to see Herrera start, I hate that he's played zero minutes in the last three games. Hate it.

    De gea

    Rafa
    McNair
    Smalling
    Shaw

    Carrick
    Blind
    Herrera

    Di Maria
    Rooney
    Wilson/maTa

    442 diamond

This definitely won't be the team, but I hope it is.

    De Gea
    Rafael--Smalling--McNair--Shaw
    Herrera--Carrick--Blind
    Mata/Januzaj--Rooney--Di Maria

Only problem I have is the lack of pace. Ideally I would want Januzaj to start but he hasn't been performing.

That midfield will get torn to shreds and Januzaj starting again :nono:
