Arsenal Football Club (also known as The Gunners), are a professional football club based in Holloway, London. In late 1886, a gaggle of workers from the Woolwich Arsenal Armament Factory decided to form a football team. They called themselves Dial Square as a reference to the sundial atop the entrance to the factory. On December 11, 1886, Dial Square romped to a 6-0 victory over Eastern Wanderers; the first game in their initial guise. Shortly afterwards the name ‘Royal Arsenal’ was adopted. Today, Arsenal are one of the most successful and popular clubs in the history of the English league, with a trophy haul than includes 13 League titles, 12 FA Cups, and 2 League Cups.

When Henry Norris decided that Arsenal needed a new manager in the summer of 1925, he could never have anticipated the impact of his next appointment. After flirting with relegation in the previous season, Chapman set about reinventing the Club with almost immediate effect, and in a broader sense helped move football from the amateur era into a professional one. In his first season at Highbury, the new manager steered the Gunners to an FA Cup Quarter Final and a second-place finish in the First Division; the highest league placing in their history. And unlike many of his contemporaries in Britain, Chapman was a fan of the continental game and counted among his friends Hugo Meisl and Jimmy Hogan, coaches of the Austrian Wunderteam of the 1930s.

In the mid '90s, they appointed another visionary in Arsène Wenger with former vice-chairman David Dein bringing him to the club in 1996 - Dein actually wanted to appoint him a year earlier before Bruce Rioch but the old school board did not want a foreign manager - and the next 20 years have been a remarkable and unforgettable period in the club’s history - with Arsenal building a reputation for playing an attractive, streamlined style of football that rivals some of the best teams in Europe while winning three league titles and seven FA Cups and boasting the likes of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira, Robert Pirès, Cesc Fàbregas and Robin Van Persie in their ranks.

The club plays its home games at the Emirates Stadium, and has a bitter sporting rivalry with neighbors Tottenham Hotspur in a match termed the North London Derby, apart from a competitive rivalry against the other major clubs of the Premier League, especially Manchester United - in an affair that peaked in the late 1990s to early 2000s period.

Vital that no complacency kicks in and we do the business again

Hopefully some players will be back but I guess that's somewhat doubtful but meh we've just beat PSG with that midfield so should cope easily with Xhaka and Fellaini

    Tough choices for our lineup.

I liked the impact Lukaku had on the right against them in the FA Cup, especially since their right side is weak but at the same time he's in such great form as a #9.

John Moss in charge of this one.

Cannot wait for this. Dalot has to play. We're more threatening with him running the wing. Lukaku 3 - Arsenal 0

I don’t see this being as straightforward as people think. They’ll be out for revenge after what happened in the FA Cup tie.

Hope we sneak it though, got a feeling it’ll be by a narrow margin.

I have been very optimistic about us recently, but I do think we might be a bit tired for this one. Although Arsenal also plays in the europa league. Pogba back should help a lot though and hopefully he can have a big game.

My prediction is that it will end with a draw. Although we got a 100% record away from home so hopefully we can get another win :).

This will be a tough game. The players will be knackered, and its always difficult to "go again" from such a high.

Won't be a surprise for me if the euphoria of tonight got into our head and we lose this. :D

Didn't want a big game after today immediately tbh but here we go.

Hopefully Martial at least will be back for this. Set back and counter as usual.

Realistically itll be really hard to get a win here especially after our recent run. Feel like theres usually a bit of a sloppy performance after a win like today but we'll see. Would take a draw tbh, we're away and keeps us ticking along nicely.
Saying that, possible to get a few players back? Pogba obviously, Martial probably (though might not start). Who knows for Matic or Herrera. Something like this to start I'd guess
    De Gea
    Young Smalling Lindelof Shaw
    Mctominay
    Fred Pogba
    Dalot Lukaku Rashford

Thankfully Arsenal have a match today. Emery will take it seriously as he is a europa league specialist.

Will definitely be tougher than the cup game. They slowly been regaining form over the past few weeks.

    Need the 3 points.
Need the 3 points on Arsenal, especially.
Need to build goal differential on Arsenal and Chelsea.

Chelsea still has a game in hand.

Going with 0-3, I just don't see Arsenal playing as emotionally as we do. Ole has built a fighting unit. They fight for each other, they fight for him. And now he has so many tools in his toolbox. As the players start coming back off injury, it's going to get interesting where players get and keep minutes.

I think Ole will stick with the split the diamond as the split striker system works best for Rashford and Lukaku, I'd love to see Dalot as RB or as RM in the diamond but I think Young and Fred will get in ahead of him.

We took the piss on the pitch and then off the pitch afterwards last time. If Arsenal don't respond they are pathetic.

Handful of injuries in their game against Rennes would be nice.

I’d take the smelliest 0-0 on offer after tonight, do the business in home games v Chelsea and city and we’ll get top 4

All they have done apart from the draw at Wembley is beat Bournemouth, Bate and Southampton at home.

If injuries are the same, same team but:

    Pogba for Pereira
    Dalot for Bailly
I think this is the most logical thing to do. I'm not sure if any of the injured players are back in training besides it might just be a bit much to just throw them on against Arsenal.

Aren't arsenal well placed in their Europa tie? We might see them rest a few players with the weekend in mind.

Dalot has come of age in the last 3 matches. He is our long time problem of a world class winger. In fact he could play any position on the right. He is going to be one hell of a playér for us on current form.

I think Dalot should be in your team rather then Fred. Dalot is more likely to score than Fred and is good in defence as well. But, Fred showed he can play last night.
