Have absolutely no confidence this game. The game last year at emirates, we dominated possession, created chances, and Rashford/Lukaku couldn't finish their dinner. They will be up for it, and with no McT, we really need our midfielders to be on our A game. Our team panicks when put under a little bit of pressure, so will be interesting to see how we cope up with the discount version of Man City. Hope we remain within touching distance of Chelsea.

I haven't watched him enough yet to give a say but did the lad just won the Golden Boy 2019 ?
In the 35 shots he's attempted in the league this campaign, only two have found the back of the net, giving him a conversion percentage of just six percent.
If the 2019 Golden Boy wants to keep picking up these awards, he'll have to start living up to his 127 million euro price tag in terms of scoring goals.

Yeah but apart from scoring goals he has showed his dribbling, runs, passing and other abilities as well I think. And he's only 20 years old. It's a bit harsh to deem him the biggest flop in Europe tbf, I'd rather only say he hasn't lived up to his price tag yet.

Pepe on the other hand seems pretty clueless when it comes to everything imho. That's probably why Arteta would rather having a 20 years old academy product Reiss Nelson started than him I think.

Would be nice if for once in a long time we can hit Arse early on instead of butt clenching for almost the entirety of the first half while they send wave after wave. It's like fkin Space Invaders.

Arse will pull a win out of this one. Just have that weird feeling. (Be wrong as usual, Loon)

I know we destroyed them within the first 20 or so mins in Mourinho's second season with our trio of Martial, Lingard and Lukaku (with Pogba offering runs from deep), but I think we scored early on last year in the cup during Ole's initial winning run, too, I believe?

I am afraid that we will loose this one.

As usual, when we think that we are out of the clouds, we fall even deeper.

If we win this one, it will prove that the team is in better shape and we stick to a correct position. Issue is that after two top results against Spurs and City, we were back to our level against Everton and Watford.

So hopefully a win for us as Arsenal are horrible.

Once you pass the first line of pressing (Auba, Lacazette, Ozil), they are so light and poor.

Just break the first line and we could attack and break them easily.

Why all the negativity? Arsenal will be whacked after that Chelsea game and while they may come out the blocks flying, they won't put up much of a sustained fight for the whole game. Honestly don't get the Pepe thing but that's not our problem. Lacazette's been poor for them recently too. We should win this comfortably.

As bad as Arsenal are they still somehow find a way of getting a result against us. The draw at home was one of our worst results of the season.

Trying not to get over-confident, but we should be winning this. They don't look good at all, and if ever there was a team we could hit on the break over and over again, it has to be Arsenal. I'm confident in our defense, and im very confident in our attack at the moment. I feel if we hit them early, their confidence will go out the window. I'm hoping for a 1-2 or 1-3 win .

    My team would be:

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Fred Pogba
    James Andreas Rashford
    Martial
Andreas over Matic to add some speed and bite, James over Greenwood as he is better suited for counterattacking and provides good cover.

The gooners is always a tough game for us, so I do hope Ole plays with 3 in midfield. It's very important to win the battle here if we are to gain all 3 points.

I'm very cautious about this match. They were defending deep vs Chelsea and only conceded from a goalkeepers mistake . If they choose to defend again (which I expect) we could be in trouble.
It's strange to see predictions like 4-0/4-1 going around, when we have let mediocre teams like Watford turn us over and we have shown to be a big disappointment every time we are expected to win.

If anyone can give Arsenal their new manager bounce it’s us.

We always seem to struggle to build on any momentum, hope I’m wrong I can see narrow Arsenal
    win.

If we’ll struggle anywhere, it’s midfield. We have a tighter back 4 and our strike force is as good. McT being out is a loss and one hopes Pogba was just being rested

Don’t understand why he’s ever played there when he’s better as a DM
    His brain imo.

He always need a brain playing next to him even as a CB.

Look at him in the WC when Thiago was out and you'd understand.

In General he is a liability - for me he is one of these players that I just cant see the reason why he has made it as a pro. As a manager you would have to be playing to his weaknesses.

Would be typical for them to raise their game against us in a season where they're constantly getting done and have no spirit or fight in them. That said, we are a better team than them on paper and in reality, and I don't see them just sitting back and letting us try to score, so I think we'll be alright

As is so often the case when he plays, it's going to come down to whether Pogba is good or not. As others have said, our defence and our forwards are good enough to beat them, but without McTom our midfield looks vulnerable.

Of course, Fred and Pereira have both just had two great games in a row. But they'll be pretty fatigued by now, whereas hopefully Pogba should be fresh. He'll need to show up.

Confident if we're allowed to counter. Arsenal are in desperate need for a win and Arteta is too, surely. It will play into our hands.

Not sure with their defence that they will want to be sitting back. They are at home you would think it will be all out attack.

Another away win would be huge but I doubt we'll do it. I'm worried Pep incarnate will get them wound up for this one and we'll help turn their fortunes around.

Hopefully we can pick them off

You could say that about any of their defenders to be fair. This game will be won by the team that scores the most, not the team that defends the best.
    A 7 or 8 goal thriller.
Hope we are on the right side of the goals for!!

I wish we could always play with the strongest lineup but think that Ole must rotate the players if we are to survive January without too many losses or injuries. I hope Shaw, Pereira and Greenwood will play in this match and I believe in a win.

Midfield is where we need to get it right. Against Chelsea, Arsenal ran havoc first 20 mins until Lampard arrested the slide and put in an extra midfielder and then game was even. Loosing Scott to injury is massive as we need his energy in the big games. Hopefully Matic and Fred could hold out. Leno always raises game against us .

We'll win this by a big margin. I predict 1:4 our away victory, I may be on the optimistic side but I have no doubt we'll win this. We know how to handle them. Both clubs are a bit down but we've had a lot more positive signs lately then they have. As far as playing potential goes we're well matched but we have a lot more cohesion within our team than them. Safe bet is us to win this.

Pereira over Pogba still? I hope Pogba can play as our number 10 for this game. Should suit him very well with all the space Arsenal leaves behind.
Although I worry that Pogba still has injury problems and will miss this game too.

I feel confident too, but I guess I was confident last season after PSG as well. In that game Mctominay got dropped stupidly for Matic. This time around I think we have to use Matic so let us hope that he can perform better.

Yes. Arsenal play a few youngsters who are rapid. We need to cut out the tempo and immediately counter. That's the only way I see us winning.
