You had a huge slice of luck with Partey being missing for the game at OT so this seems about fair to me.
Greenwood was "missing" from that game as well. I think that about covers you.

Yet another huge slice of fortune for Arsenal as our best player gets suspended for this game. Last game before the card threshold gets reset and in a game that was sandwiched in last minute, it's the perfect storm for them.
Yeah heard about that, the fecking craven PL bending over for the Queen's death has done us.

McT in midfield terrifies me. Not looking forward to this game at all.

Unfortunately I think it'll be a comfortable win for Arsenal. No Casemiro, poor 2nd half performance vs Palace even with him, them having a whole week to rest and them being pretty good team this days.

I think only dilemmas will be who starts in Casemiro's position: McTominay or perhaps Martinez. Or if ten Hag chooses to go with back 3.

I'm not sure EtH will be willing to try Martinez at DM as he hasn't played there this season.

My team as well. There's some pace in it which would give us a chance as Arsenal should be dominant for large parts of the game.
What do u class as pace ?
only player Utd have in the squad who is fast is Rashford and probably Martial. Garnacho is not fast. He’s like Sancho and Antony.

I‘ll take a draw even if we had Casemiro. The Goons have had the week off and we’ve just had to deal with a gruelling match with Palace after a gruelling match with City on Saturday.

Frustrating them will be key. If they’re out of ideas with the XI me and everyone else know they’ll play, then they‘ve got nothing on the bench that can hurt us.

Completely agree, except even Martial isn't fast. We severely lack pace all across the midfield and attack.

Tough game ahead. Momentum isn't great after the result against Crystal Palace and there are a lot of tired legs.

    I'm looking forward to it.

United has shown a lot of quality in the big games and we've progressed a lot from the loss against City. Arsenal will be apprehensive and rightly so. This is not just the Casemiro show. Wan Bissaka stood up today and we might see more unexpected talent to rise to the top next game.

Attempting to be optimistic... Spurs are absolute cack and had these hanging on for dear life in the second half with Ramsdale MOTM.

They're in good nick, but it's not like they're rock solid defensively at all. I don't think Love Island Lindelöf will fancy seeing the Rashford of the last few weeks (not necessarily tonight's version).

Jadon Sancho is training again, so maybe he'll pop up and be the Sancho we saw in Germany.

Since Mourinho got sacked we played 4 games at Emirates in PL, lost 3 and drew once. Worst away fixture for us next to Liverpool.

Arsenal had no Partey at Old Trafford and we have no Casemiro now. Will be tough to cope.

We can’t go on rotating the same 14-15 players every 3-4 days and expect the team to performe at a high level for 90+ minutes . First half tonight was brilliant and we were in full control. Second half was totally different and we were unable to string 3 passes together.
We desperately need Sancho and Martial to come back and hit the ground running otherwise I fear for our top 4 chances

I'm really worried after tonight's performance. this game could get ugly and ruin our confidence. Hopefully we manage to get a result.

Not too bothered. Would be great if we got a result. Probably will lose. Was unlikely to keep up the run even with Casemiro, low chance now but if we put in a good performance at least, irrespective of result, I'll be happy enough. We aren't a title challenging team this season as we don't have the attack for it, obviously. A loss away to Arsenal when we beat them earlier, beat Spurs, city and Liverpool... Yeah fair enough. Nobody ever has an impeccable big game record. We are due a bad result IMO. No injuries, good effort/mentality and a brave performance and I'm ok with it. Focus on the rest of the season.

    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Varane Martinez Shaw
    McTominay Eriksen
    Bruno Fred Rashford

We will clearly play on the counter and will obviously miss Casemiro, but we've beaten them before when we weren't in such good form.

They've got a couple with looming bans as well, so it will even out over the season, just a shame ours came in this shoe horned fixture.

I reckon we draw personally, but I reckon Xhaka is due a red in a big game. Been far too long without one.

Can’t believe the pessimism. We’re going to drop points at some stage, so I don’t quite understand the gloom and doom after the palace game. Also worth noting that we beat Arsenal last time around starting McTominay and Eriksen.

I'm not worried about that. We'll probably lose, but our core fundamentals are great these days. Our back 4 and midfield and collective work rate is excellent. We don't have the attack to be an elite team is what today showed. Need a striker to put games like today out of touch. If we lose, we'll likely get back on track quickly as our fundamentals are very good and not reliant on individual form.

What I think will happen and Fred to do the job he did on KDB to Odegaard.

Although I'm not sure Martial makes it.

I don't want to see McT, I hope ETH comes out with a surprise line-up. Shaw move to CB, Martinez to CDM, Fred and Eriksen in midfield. Garnacho to start, Rashford in the middle. I still undecided if Antony or Bruno plays on the right as both are shit on the right. Antony looks a 80 million flop to me, he probably value at 35 million now.
We’re already calling Antony a flop? FFS.

Ok so the job got tougher, before we had to win to keep chipping away closing that gap, now we have to trash them to knock them off track altogether!

You can't win every game, but flipping hell we need Arsenal to lose and drop points, starting with Sunday.

Nothing to lose now so I will echo what one other poster said and suggest Martinez is tried in the DM role.

    De Gea

    Malacia
    Shaw
    Varane
    AWB

    Martinez
    Bruno
    Fred

    Garnacho
    Rashford
    Antony

McTominay needs to pull a world-class performance out his arse.

I'd happily take that if it means him being complete shite the rest of the season.

I just can’t stomach McTominay and Fred together. They are shocking and bring out the worst in each other. I’d get a few days training with Martinez next to Fred and play Shaw at LCB. Just stifle the Arsenal midfield and hope Rashford plays nothing like today. I’d also actually play Garnacho left and Rashford through the middle. We will rely on break and Weghorst makes Mata look like the Flash.

Ive already said it in other threads, Martinez has to play CDM, im sure he can give a Casamiro type performance.
Im hoping Martial is fit we look more fluid when he plays and hes overdue a goal.

Even with Casemiro out I don't want to see McTominay in the team. It's times like this I wish we hadn't sold Garner.

    De Gea
    AWB - Varane - Shaw - Malacia
    Fred - Martinez
    Bruno - Eriksen - Rashford
    Weghorst
I've been against it until now but I think it's time to give the Martinez as a DM experiment a try.

De Gea, AWB, Varane, Shaw, Malacia, Fred, Martinez, Eriksen, Bruno, Rashford, Garnacho.

I know it won’t happen but we aren’t going to outplay Arsenal and we are still a team that relies too much on the break.

    Happily take a draw.

I agree with Martinez at DM.
He's very good on the ball and can tackle well.

We need to turn it into an ugly game in us to win it which we can do. Agree with people here Martinez would be a good choice in DM just to nullify Odegaard in midfield

A draw wouldn't be the worst result in the world but wouldn't do anything to help us try win the league. We are capable of beating them though

Lot of pressure on both Fred and McTominay to deliver and perform on Sunday. You lose the midfield battle, you lose the game. I'll miss Sunday's game unfortunately, so fingers crossed for a positive result.

Fred, McTominay and Eriksen to fill in for Casemiro missing and maybe even that won't be enough.

Arsenal aren't all that. Peak Liverpool in recent times were a much daunting proposition than this bunch. We're more than good enough to beat them even without Casemiro, and as a matter of fact I think we will.
