We are not nearly as bad as some people are suggesting. 18 games since Ole got sacked. 10 wins, 7 draws, 1 loss.
In 3 of those draws we created enough to win comfortably but our atrocious finishing let us down. You can clearly see the improvement under Ralf. I don't think it is so unrealistic for us to win this competition. We need to go all out agains Atletico and show the world we are not to be taken lightly.
I’d like to see this lineup.

Not sure what I want for this, I mean away goals don't count but I'd feel confident getting a draw there, based on this seasons stats AWB & Telles have better defensive stats so for this game, I'd rather get the draw and play on the counter and maybe nick a goal so that we are still in the tie when it comes back to OT

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Varane Telles
    Fred Matic
    Sancho Bruno Pogba

They may not be in form but they have a quality side.

With Carrasco suspended, I imagine it will be Correa in for him. Potentially Kondogbia for Koke if the MARCA rumours are true. Griezmann will be involved at same stage for sure.

The only Champions league game i watched Atletico Madrid in action this season was at home to Liverpool and Madrid was well on course to getting at least a draw until a dodgy red card. Liverpool against ten men struggled to create anything and took the lead with a penalty and moments later Madrid was awarded a penalty of their own for a similar challenge as the one Liverpool got but VAR thought other wise.

Long story short a very difficult game ahead and United are unlikely to get the rub of the green that Liverpool got against them.

Probably the dullest game of the season. I hate watching Atletico.

Mctominay has never been sent off in the 117 appearances he's made for the club. He's picked up 17 yellows in that time, which averages out at 1 booking every 6 games or thereabouts, standard stuff for a PL DM.

Hopefully, this will put the whole Mctominay is a liability thing to bed :)

After Maguires goal... I think you need to play him. Lindelof was great and deserves a run out as well. Having a back 3 with Varane seems the way to go.

Pretty grim. Only notable victory since the 2008 win against Barcelona is a 2017 EL semi-final win over Celta Vigo, in which I’m still wondering how they didn’t score at the end of to go through.

Our first knock-out tie in the CL in what feels like forever and might be another (relative) eternity until we're back, so we better perform.

    Going for 1-1.

Beat Sociedad in the round of 32 last season that you have missed off and villareal home and away in the group stage this season, that you have also missed off. So the record isn't as grim as you make out.

It will be a tricky game this though against horrible opposition, we have to play our game and not get drawn into all the playacting and shithousery. As long as we keep our heads i think we will be OK but it won't be pretty.

This is the Champions League. They will raise their game, I can assure you of that. Will be a really tough match.

PL referees are lenient with him, possibly because he’s British and they see him as ‘not that sort of player’. What he does do is commit an extremely high number of fouls. Refs in Europe are likely to be less lenient so he will need to watch himself.
