He's weak as sin, happens every week in the PL and refs are not having it. Weak, no pace, no hold up play. Has to be off this summer and become another clubs problem
He didn't have the pace to get round the player, he got his body across him and took a shoulder to the back. It should have been a fk

A good night results wise. Spurs losing means even if they win their two games in hand theyd be a point behind us. Arsenal still favourites for top 4. They win their three games in hand their 5 points ahead of us

We were piss poor and got away with it....but the substitutions said a lot. Elanga comign on and being the only wide playe to show bravery. The full backs comign on and showign some intensity and driving forward. Matic being calm and carryign the ball forward and showign strength.

Season upon season yet again we are left dissapointed with the inconsistency from the likes of Shaw, Pogba, Rashford.....all three were absolutely awful today and two of them have been awful all season

they're averaging under 2 points per game so it's pretty tight

if we keep improving, we have a great chance

It's fine to use it that way, as long as you know what you are saying. xG of 0.05 in the first half simply means that United barely had any chances - that's all, and that's absolutely correct.
Indeed it is, but I'd wager the final score did not reflect the expected goals, which again highlights the flaws in using the stat over the course of 90 minutes.

Anyhow, a great result, even if the performance wasn't perfect.
    Bring on the second leg.

Those 3 games aren’t exactly bankers.

    Wolves (h), Chelsea (a), Spurs (a)

I still don't see your problem? Look at xG and result, and come to the conclusion that Atletico was a bit wasteful, while United was lucky to score one of very few chances (which is exactly your conclusion, and rightfully so).

Goodness me - the new manager has got a hell of a job on his/her hands. Got to have real backing in the summer transfer window. Striker and DM must be top priority, then anything else we can pick up. Good luck with that.

Maguire has defended very well, so has Varane. What on earth are you talking about? They've given the ball away when pressed a few times, but defensively very solid.
Did you not see who was marking Joao Felix for his goal after 7 minutes?

Our 'big' players need to have a look at themselves after that. Pogba, Fernandes, Ronaldo, Rashford, Maguire did not show up at all.

Harsh on Fernandes. He was poor but he was trying, he didn’t hide and in the end it was a sweet ball to set Elanga up for his goal.
I think we are overplaying Ronaldo. Should have rested him tonight imo.
    Otherwise I agree.

Really? Do you even watch united or are you so steeped in your hate for the man that you can't see the good he's offered this club? I'm watching the game and will address this later, but there are plenty examples.
good luck finding them. I don't hate the man but he so often fails to control the midfield that I've lost count of the poor games he has had. s for watching games, well only for 50+ years

what makes you think it's supposed to be a reflection of the score? It's just a stat

it's like me saying shots on target is a rubbish stat because it doesn't reflect the scoreline, it makes no sense

He started this season brilliantly with his rapid fire assists in the first few games, breaking a prem record

    His recent masterclass against Leeds.

His masterclass performance and two assists against Chelsea when we beat them 4-0 in the league in 2019

People talk about how brilliant Zlatan was in his first season and forget he owed a lot to his chemistry with Pogba. The vast majority of Pogbas assists in his first season were to Zlatan.

The city comeback win from 2018 from 2-0 down at halftime. Pogba was brilliant, scored twice in the second half and just dominated them and delayed their league triumph

His big second half performance against Newcastle in the league in 208/19 when we came back from 0-2 down at halftime to beat them 3-2, kept Mourinho in the job and that was fresh after being labeled a virus by the manager

His goal and disciplined performance to get us over the line against Ajax in the EL final win

His world class showing against Bournemouth in the league in 2018/19 when we beat them 4-1

His world class showing in his first league game back for us when we beat Liecester 4-1 in the opening game of the season.

His performance against Arsenal in the 1-3 win away in the league in 2017 along with Jesse Lingard. We ended their run of 12 straight home wins

Pogba was arguably Mourinho’s most important player during his time in charge of Manchester United. He played the most minutes and registered the most assists, chances created, successful passes, dribbles and shots against the woodwork during the Mourinho's tenure.

The season Solskjaer came in Pogba was his most important player. He registered 13 goals (yes there were penalties too, not as many as Bruno in his first season) and 9 assists in 2018/19 and mostly under Solskjaer and in the second half of the season.

Not a single other central midfielder has produced more in the time he's been here

I don't even agree with half of those and I think you'll find your final line incorrect: think Bruno is his first half season!

As I said, he has had some good games but not nearly enough to warrant the "world-class" tag and certainly not enough for a club like United. But, of course, that's my opinion - and you can have a different one

Dude, you dislike the guy but you don't have to be disingenuous. Carry on

Good result, should win at home but let’s not forget there best players was on the bench… they’ll most likely start in the 2nd leg. They’ll be coming to us with 1 aim… defend as deep as they can and try to hit us on the break. If we get the first goal then it sets it up nicely as they’ll have to come out a bit more and leave spaces for us.
