    Here, there, everywhere...
Liverpool are going to smash this Barcelona team. Yes, we lost 3-0 but they didn't look very impressive to me over the two legs.

I think we are going to see Liverpool vs City slug it out for the title in the champions league too.

This is turning out to be a nightmare season for us.

Sorry not buying it, he's been absolutely abysmal, energy ok he's ran around a lot and made himself available but as soon as he's got the ball the move breaks down as he gives it away or plays it out of touch.
I mean... he’s #2 in the MOTM voting, just a couple percentage points behind McTominay.

Lets face it, we blew it. This isnt vintage Barcelona even though its a good side. They were awful for an hour at Old Trafford and we still didnt get a shot on target. I think we played well at the Nou Camp, individual mistakes cost us though and not taking our chances.
If they play like that in the rest of the competition, they wont win it.

To be fair to Ole you cannot legislate for errors like we saw tonight. Clearly United are lacking quality around the pitch. Ideally he will need at least two seasons to turn the ship around. There are a number of key questions.

    1. How good is his eye for a player?
    2. Will he have absolute control over outgoing?
    3. Does he have quality in the youth setup capable of making the grade?
    4. Do United have 500 million to spend in the next two windows?
    5. Provided they play the United way will the board hold firm when results go patchy for a spell?
    6. Is the club willing to put in place better recruitment expertise than currently employed if any?
    7. Can Ole step out of the shadow of Ferguson and be his own man?
    8. He has done little managerially to command respect. Has he a viable sales pitch/plan that players current and prospective can buy into?
    9. Can he unlock Alexis undoubted potential?

This game was a bit like Milan - United in 2010 where they huffed and puffed and looked good for like 15 minutes but then it was evident how decadent they've become and gulf between us. Except we were at Barcelona level and now we're the new Milan.

I hope the comparison made sense because Im a bit drunk.

It's the pressure and hype of foreign teams... Van Der Sar made a similar stupid bluder for Messi goal in 10/11 final. De Gea is never doing that in a big match against an English team.
This excuse is being touted around. Since 2017, De Gea has been on a steady decline. Yes, he does have one of his old games now and then where he makes several excellent saves, but they are fewer now.

He used to be a world class shot-stopper and just perhaps one level above Mignolet in other departments. But his skills have clearly declined and he is fast becoming a mediocre GK now that his shot-stopping isn't as good or frequent as it used to be.

I honestly think Romero would have started over him on merit at some point in the season.
He’s not been himself for a lot longer than a few weeks.
Don't disagree with any of these statements. If it was up to me, I would let him go and either play Pereira of go and get another keeper who is steady all round player. I have similar thoughts about a few more of the very popular players in the squad. Too many fans dazzled by some brief ability shown by these players, but ultimately they will not lead this team to the top. Not saying De Gea has not displayed his ability, but this constant transfer speculation and crap is just ridiculous for a top team like United.
