    Know the opposition

Blackburn Rovers Football Club (nicknamed Rovers, The Blue and Whites and
The Riversiders) are a professional football club based in Blackburn, Lancashire. The club was founded following a meeting, at the Leger Hotel, Blackburn, on 5 November 1875 - becoming a founding member of The Football League in 1888. It is one of only three clubs to have been both a founder member of the Football League and the Premier League (the others being Aston Villa and Everton). In 1890, Rovers moved to Ewood Park - which remains their home ground to this day. Blackburn Rovers have been English First Division Champions three times, and have won six FA Cup and one Football League Cup. They are also the only club to have won three consecutive FA Cups. Their most prominent rivals are Burnley - with matches between the two teams termed the East Lancashire Derby or the Cotton Mills Derby.

23rd in the Championship, below Wigan who we beat in the previous round. I think we can afford to rest some players here, perhaps another Schweinsteiger start?

    Team should be...

    ----------Romero----------
    TFM--Bailly--Smalling--Blind
    -----Fellaini----Carrick-----
    Lingard--Rooney--Mkhitaryan
    ----------Rashford----------

Subs: De Gea, Darmian, Basti, Herrera, Young, Martial, Mata

Basti or Herrera could come in if Carrick is still out

The frequency of games will take less of a toll if we keep winning them like this. Hopefully another momentum building win.

What I love about Mourinho is he never goes for a fully rested side. I expect us to be closing in on a treble this season

Would love to see TFM and Basti start in this. Should be a routine 4-0.

Should be able to rotate heavily in this 'busy' period what with the Europea league tie all but done and this game against poor opposition.

Herrera is suspended so think we will see him in this now.

    Romero
    Fosu-Mensah - Bailly - Rojo - Darmian
    Bastian - Herrera
    Lingard - Mkhi - Rashford
    Zlatan

Think it'll be something like that.

    Carrick Herrera
    Lingard Mkhitaryan Martial
    Ibrahimovic
Just keep Martial playing when he's in this form. If Rooney is fit, then start him somewhere there. More likely for him next st etienne game though

Micky T to start. Maybe Bastian as well.

Rest a few players for St Etienne.

Herrera and Bailly suspended against St. Etienne so....

    ------------------------DDG--------------------------
    Darmian-----Bailly------Rojo-----------Shaw
    -------Schweinsteiger-------Herrera--------
    -----------------------Rooney---------------------
    Lingard----------Rashford----------Martial

    Plenty of changes

Is it bad that I don't care about this one. Obviously it would be great if we won it but it wouldn't be the end of the world if we lose.

Play Zlatan in this one and then leave him at home next week to prepare for the final. Herrera as well since he's suspended on Wednesday anyway.

But it's an away cup game, which is a lot different.

    De Gea
    Darmian--TFM--Rojo--Shaw
    Carrick--Herrera
    Mkhitaryan--Rooney--Lingard
    Rashford

subs: Romero, Bailly, Blind, Schweinsteiger, Fellaini, Martial, Ibtrahimovic

Take Carrick off after 60 and bring on Basti or the reverse. I would rather start Fosu-Mensah but I don't think it'll happen.

Like to see a reasonably strong side and then rest those key players why play against Blackburn when we play ASSE.

Don't like to see players given too big of a rest. We don't want to lose momentum.

Rest a few players but keep Martial playing, he needs a good run of games.

I'm expecting the players that haven't featured much to play here, I'd use Herrera though as he can't play next Wednesday anyway.

When was the last time we played them? I remember one of the last times we won the league in there in 2011 maybe.

Last time we played them was April 2012, won 2-0 away thanks to very late goals from Valencia (where he absolutely smashed it from a crazy angle) and Young (after like a 30+ passing move). That was the moment I thought we were gonna win the league that season :(
