Whatever it takes to lay the ghost of 1 May 1976.Valencia is also needed since no on can replace him. Pogba too, for that matter.

If he was ill yesterday he probably won't be in great shape on Sunday either.Well Mkhitaryan should play against Blackburn. If he plays against St. Etienne, there will only be 4 Days till the final. Better if he plays this Sunday and then has one week till the Southampton match, perfect. Not playing in either of the matches before the final can make him lose form.
He was back in training today...If he was ill yesterday he probably won't be in great shape on Sunday either.
I think he's come down with the Chinese Flu ... it's serious! Is Rooney still sick? Had more sickness than a pregnant woman this season
It's based on what we know at the moment, I'm surprised the pre-Blackburn part of Mourinho's post-SÉ press still hasn't been released. Rooney & Micki pictured getting to Carrington today, so if Micki gets his fitness up after being sick, he might play, wasn't probably anything serious as he was only out for one day. As for Carrick and Jones, the last news we've heard are the ones prior to the Saint-Étienne match; Carrick with a minor muscular problem, and Jones still recovering. How accurate is our "Team News" from page 1? Joel Pereira out injured. Henrikh Mkhitaryan (illness), Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick (both minor muscular problems) and Phil Jones (recovering from injury) doubtful.
Herrera? He can't play against St. Etienne. We should be fielding a complete 2nd string side, bar maybe two players.
I'd start Schweinsteiger, TFM, Romero, Lingard, Rashford and Shaw.
Bailly and Smalling are the only two regulars we should be starting with.
Immune systems drop off when you get up in age.Is Rooney still sick? Had more sickness than a pregnant woman this season
I think he's looked jaded in most recent games. A bit of time off might not be a bad idea.Herrera? He can't play against St. Etienne.
Why on earth would be piss about with the lineup in this game, when we can do our main rotating in the Europa second leg?We should be fielding a complete 2nd string side, bar maybe two players.

Get used to it. It's the easiest way of saving face for all.Is Rooney still sick? Had more sickness than a pregnant woman this season
Because it's a squad game. We can play a weakened team for both. There are a lot of games coming up. A lot. Now is a good time to make sure that key players are fresh for the final 3 months of the season. Why on earth would be piss about with the lineup in this game, when we can do our main rotating in the Europa second leg?
Unless anyone is particularly knackered and needing a rest, i'd probably play most of Thursday's crew.
Then rotate heavily on Wednesday, leaving them all fresh for the cup final.
Does anything make you think he'd rest Ibra and Pogba for both Sunday and the Europa 2nd leg?Because it's a squad game. We can play a weakened team for both. There are a lot of games coming up. A lot. Now is a good time to make sure that key players are fresh for the final 3 months of the season.
45 minutes for one or two players on Weds ahead of final will keep them sharp.
I can see both starting on Wednesday.Does anything make you think he'd rest Ibra and Pogba for both Sunday and the Europa 2nd leg?
Can't see it at all.
I just hope he doesn't surprise us all and do no rotation for Wednesday. That'd be mad.
Thanks ... so maybe consider Rooney and Mkhi for Blackburn? It's based on what we know at the moment, I'm surprised the pre-Blackburn part of Mourinho's post-SÉ press still hasn't been released. From Ibra and Pogba's post match comments, they're both expecting to play Wednesday.Does anything make you think he'd rest Ibra and Pogba for both Sunday and the Europa 2nd leg?

It's nothing to do with disrespect. They are just as bad as Wigan who we comfortably beat. It's probably 4th in the list of priorities.Exactly.
I think many fans are showing disrespect to Blackburn thinking that we can walk over them with ease, using our 2nd string team.
This is the FA Cup and upsets happen. And it would be embarrassing if we lost to Blackburn 1-0 because Jose got complacent and fielded a weaker team.
We will play with our full strength team. Absolutely no doubt about this.
No chance mate, dream on. The theory behind playing weakened teams or 'second string' is that you play them when the outcome of the match is irrelevant. We won't get a second chance against Blackburn (unless a draw obviously) so we need to get the job done on Sunday. The return leg against Saint-Etienne is at their place. We all know that anything could happen in 90 minutes. Play a strong team on Wednesday, get a goal or two, then we can start hauling players off.Because it's a squad game. If we go out against Blackburn, nobody will care. It's a nothing game compared to the bigger prizes at stake. A bad performance by a second string side will tell him more about his squad than a 4-0 win featuring Pogba and co.No chance mate, dream on. Thankfully Mourinho approaches each game with the right mentality. Look what happened to Liverpool in the space of a week. I'd be gutted if that happened to us. There's plenty of time to rest between matches.
I don't think that's true at all. I for one would care.If we go out against Blackburn, nobody will care.
Sorry, I meant normal people.I don't think that's true at all. I for one would care.
The large away support we're taking would care, as would a huge section of the fan base I say. No?Sorry, I meant normal people.
Will there be José out banners if we lose? The large away support we're taking would care, as would a huge section of the fan base I say. No?
No. There won't be any if we lose the League Cup final and/or the second leg either. Will there be José out banners if we lose?
You're waffling here. Will there be José out banners if we lose?
People will be pissed if we lose the final. Everyone knows the risk of attending an FA Cup game since 2007. We often play youngsters and rotate.No. There won't be any if we lose the League Cup final and/or the second leg either.
Your point?
This is correct, BUT it's not the same as 'no one cares'. Plenty of people, myself included care greatly. Thankfully I think Mourinho does care too so expect to see a strong line up.People will be pissed if we lose the final. Everyone knows the risk of attending an FA Cup game since 2007. Would we like to win and progess? Yes. Should we lose, is it a devastating blow? Nope. Securing elite European football is paramount. The FA Cup is only going to get harder from the next round on anyway. I'd prefer to see guys like TFM plays instead of stagnating.
For sure, but I still cherish the FA Cup much higher than the League Cup. It's a nice draw, I'd be gutted if we lose.People will be pissed if we lose the final.
I actually prefer The League Cup. It's been a more entertaining spectacle for almost a decade now.For sure, but I still cherish the FA Cup much higher than the League Cup. It's a nice draw, I'd be gutted if we lose.
