Association Football Club Bournemouth (nicknamed The Cherries and Boscombe) is a professional football club based in Bournemouth, Dorset. The exact date of the club's foundation is not known, but there is proof that it was formed as Bascombe FC in the autumn of 1899 out of the remains of the older Boscombe St. John's Lads’ Institute FC. Nicknamed The Cherries (Dean Court was built adjacent to the Cooper-Dean estate, which encompassed numerous cherry orchards), the team traditionally played in red shirts with white sleeves until 1971, when the strip was changed to red and black stripes, similar to that of AC Milan. The club was renamed in 1923 to Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic F.C. in 1923, which was the name until 1972, when it becomes A.F.C. Bournemouth.

Bournemouth have won the second and third tiers of English football, and were twice runners-up of the fourth tier. They have also won the Football League Trophy, and the Football League Third Division South Cup. Bournemouth have spent the majority of their history bouncing between the third and fourth tier of English football. Under manager Eddie Howe, they have risen through the pyramid; the 2015–16 season was Bournemouth's first ever in England's top division. Bournemouth's biggest rivals are Brighton & Hove Albion, Reading FC and Southampton FC. They play their home games at Dean Court, Bournemouth — currently known as the Vitality Stadium.

One of our bogey teams in recent years. Time to put that right.

Our next game after this isn’t till at least 3 weeks - Monday 13th April against Leeds United.

That's wild! It feels unnatural but I guess most teams go through this every year.

I wonder if there'll be some warm weather training or a quick money making friendly.

Score vs Bournemouth over last 5 games: 3 draws and 2 defeats (two 3-0 defeats at Old Trafford). They also haven't lost a league game since January 3, pretty sure that's longest unbeaten run in league after we lost to Newcastle last week. Drew bunch of games for sure but it still weren't defeats.

Tough away game. I will be chuffed if we win this as its on Friday night before the rest of the chasing pack play. Their record is 4-6-1 in 2026 which is impressive.

The players will be away with their nations as it’s an international break the following week, so I’d expect Carrington to be very quiet during that time.

Could possibly be a BCD friendly arranged a week before the Leeds game when the players return to Manchester from international duty as that’s an FA Cup weekend.

I fecking hate Bournemouth, but they've definitely lost something without semenyo,

I'm hoping for a repeat of today's second half performance

This will be a draw, I reckon. Bournemouth has drawn 14 games this season(most in the PL by far), and their last 4 games were draws as well. Toughest game we have on the schedule left, with Chelsea away and Liverpool home.

Another away game with not a full weeks rest(we play on Friday). Under these circumstances performances tends to be disappointing. Last time we've beaten them was in ETH's first season, from what I recall(2022/23).

Brighton away is tough because Welbeck is going to be playing like Prime R9.

Any away game is a crap shoot while I expect to win the home games. Would take a draw right now to be honest.

    Lammens
    Dalot Yoro Maguire Shaw
    Casemiro Mainoo
    Mbeumo Bruno Cunha
    Sesko
Agree with this team. Mbeumo instead of Amad since he has the better aerial crossing ability. Think it'll be a high-scoring win (3-2 or 4-2), time to throw down the gauntlet to all the chasing teams to keep up.

Won't be gutted with a draw here.

Win and its plain sailing into the CL.

They seem to be defending pretty well at the moment, but they've scored just 1 goal in the last 4 games.

Can't see it being a high scoring affair based on that. Will be another horrible slog of a game away from home.

I'd probably try Cunha-Sesko-Amad front 3 as it's the only one we've not tried yet, Mbeumo hasn't score in a while so might benefit from being out the side for a game.

Their full back Jimenez is a cocky so-and-so. I've seen him yell in the faces of both Estevao and Mitoma this season. The Mitoma one was especially weird.

If they both start, I can see him and Cunha going at it.

They're hard to beat. Last team to beat them at home was Arsenal at the start of January.

They don't score many, though. Get an early goal and things start to look rosy. We should 100% be demanding a win and nothing else here. Can't hack any of this 'I'd take a draw' before we have to wait three weeks or something mad for another game.

I know it's a Friday, but a late night non-weekend away game again. We've been shit with these this season. Got to step it up this time.

Feels like we've lost there more than twice tbh

That record is far better than I was expecting (guess it's at Old Trafford where we have struggled against them). The last 2 performances in that list have been poor from memory

Same team as yesterday - fancy us to sneak a 1-0 win

They've drawn five of their last six games either 0-0 or 1-1. Not exactly amazing form. We should be able to beat them.

This has a frustrating, boring slog written all over it. Will be similar to our last couple of away games.

    1-1 draw is my prediction.

Like Villa, a style that suits us. They usually score but I think we'll have enough to beat them soundly.

Sesko comes on late and scores winners. As much as having a proper focal point in attack would be a nice change, he's been far too effective off the bench, so stick with what's working. Same team as against Villa. Exception being if Licha is fit. Don't think anyone out of the team has been hard done.
