Brentford Football Club (nicknamed The Bees) is a professional football club based in Brentford, West London, England. The club was founded in October 1889, as the local sportsmen's latest attempt to form a permanent football or rugby club in the town. By 1896, Brentford had joined the London League, progressing to the Southern League in 1898 and entering the Football League in 1920. Upon the appointment of Harry Curtis as manager in 1926 came the beginning of Brentford's most successful period, with promotions in 1933 and 1935 taking the club into the top-flight of English football for the first time in its history. Three consecutive top-six finishes in the First Division established Brentford as one of the top clubs in England, but a decline began in 1938 which led to the club's relegation back to the Third Division South by 1954.

Recently, after two failed playoff campaigns in six Championship seasons, Brentford were promoted into the Premier League after victory in the 2021 Championship play-off Final (reaching the highest level of the English football pyramid for the first time since the 1946–47 season). Brentford's main rivals are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers. The club have a long standing rivalry with Fulham. In the past this fixture has been marred by crowd violence. Brentford's rivalry with Queens Park Rangers intensified in 1967, when Rangers failed in an attempted takeover of the Bees, a move which, had it succeeded, would have seen Rangers move into Griffin Park and Brentford quit the Football League. Brentford play their home games at the Brentford Community Stadium.

These are the games that will determine if Amorim can actually do something here. Can we build off a home win and play well away to a mid table team? Get 2 wins in a row?

Hopefully the new front 3 can start together.

    Altay
    Yoro De Ligt Shaw
    Mazraoui Bruno Ugarte Dorgu
    Mbeumo Cunha
    Sesko

We need to win the next 2 games to gain some momentum and get rid of the negative vibes around the club.

Think Maguire earned a start today. Would like to see:

    Bayindr
    De Ligt Maguire Shaw
    Amad Bruno Ugarte Dorgu
    Mbeumo Sesko Cunha

Frank, Mbeumo, Wissa, Norgaard all gone. Comfortable win.

I hope Lammers gets his debut. I’d be looking to go on the front foot and dominate here.

    Lammens
de Ligt - Maguire - Shaw
    Mazraoui - Ugarte - Mainoo - Dorgu
    Mbeumo - Cunha - Bruno

I like that line up a lot. Attacking minded and technically very strong

Watching their game vs Fulham. Not much for us to be worried about except the long throws and set pieces. We need to be much more clinical as I think we will create chances. Also need to quite their strong home support by starting of on front foot.

Mbeumo to haunt his old teammates hopefully!

Hope Keane is a pundit for the game, he hates Andrews

Missed the Chelsea game as was away watching my local team play. Now going to be missing this game too as away to Dublin for the NFL. If we win this game too then I might as well boycott the rest of the season

Imagine actually getting back-to-back wins :wenger:

Really could do with two wins in the next two to get a bit of momentum before Liverpool away. Going into that game on 13 points would take a bit of pressure off. Brentford have not been great this season so I am hopeful.

Brentford really aren't the same side they used to be. Could be a start of a nice run if we win this one. Definitely a game which will tell us a lot about where this team is currently at.

No way he starts Lammens against such a physical set piece-orientated team imo.

Anything other than a win will be an immense disappointment.

Brentford away and Sunderland at home before the international break. Come on let's get 6 points.

Going for 0-9 in the prediction seeing as we're back to our best!

Back to back wins? Would that be the highest point of Amorim's tenure so far, if we beat Brentford away?

    Over who though?
Yeah it didn't happen with Cunha and Mount out, it definitely won't happen with them back. Slight chance it's him over Ugarte but I don't see it, Ugarte is the defensive one there.

Hopefully Cunha starts because Amad needs dropping. Ruined so many attacks today.

Saturday early kick-off doesn't make me confident for some reason. There's potential for United to ruin our whole weekend

Although Brentford away isn't cakewalk by any means, really think it's imperative to get the 3 points here and put to bed concerns with lack of consecutive wins in the league under Amorim, and build momentum for Sunderland home and trip to Anfield afterwards.

The lack of confidence in the team is clear to see despite some good statistics and some good passage of play.
