Double jeopardy rule only applies when the defender has a clear intention of playing the ball. If the defender is denying a clear goalscoring opportunity without an intention to play the ball, its a red and a pen.
Don’t get why players go low. Always go high on a pen. Keepers can’t dive high.
I thought it was still in place. So if it's a goalscoring opportunity and it's a cynical foul, rather than a genuine attempt to play the ball, then it's a red card. We'll probably get a PGMOL apology in a couple of daysRef has made some good Brentford decisions lately…
