Anyone blaming Bruno and the pen for today is lying to himself.
He was shite throughout the match, capped it off with a bad pen. Has been bad all season so far.

But no this loss isn't on him, it's on a non-functional setup that just keeps churning out shite performances.

Is there an argument to say that Bruno's been living off penalties and his reputation since 2021? His production has been non existent since the start of 21/22
Why is the scrutiny always on him, when we've spent £200m on the front 3 and they barely threatened a shocking Brentford side, bar our new striker taking about 20 goes to put his chance away?

Not sure what the tactics are. All the players were lining up front, nobody dropped deeper to pickup the ball and
Exactly. What's the point in having players like Cunha and Mbeumo then get them and 3 other players to form a line on the penalty box waiting for a cross?

Don't care for the performance but when the manager is staring into the ground it doesn't look good. What the feck are his players thinking looking at him like this?
    Gutless manager.
    Feck off now, please!!!!

In all seriousness, Ruben’s body language during a match is unbefitting of any manager in any sport.

It’s just gross incompetence Amorim is still here, simply cannot understand why he just does the same thing over and over without trying anything different.

The end is obviously near, maybe after the Sunderland game or the trip to Anfield. May drag on longer but it’s just a complete waste of everyone’s time.

He doesn't know how to manage a sound defense, a composed midfield and a effective attack.
He's done nothing right on the pitch since he's been brought in.

I dont think Liverpool will hammer us, purely because they actually have CL, so will take their foot off the gas after 3 goals or so, and rest players. So our clueless owners will see it as a respectable result, against a club who's level we are aspiring to be at

It almost needs Ole's Watford moment at this point, it feels like the only thing that may finally make them act

Bruno slowing the match down in extra time as we need to score. Players wainting without any idea and without any passion. Most crosses from open play are so misplaced that a Sundays league player would be ashamed. No sign of dominance, no will yo score.

    Amorin has lost the team.

    Cope.

Bruno's a serial loser, one of the worst captains we've ever had due to his mentality and an overall detrimental presence on the team no matter how many chances spam he does.
He has been our best player for several years. Not his fault he is played out of position.
If you say that about him, anyone else in this team is a shower of sh*t, begining by the worst manager in our history.

If we lose this, it's going to be interesting how some are going to spin this as not Amorim's fault.
Try and put the heat on Bruno and put posts like "missed a pen but it's the system's fault" and equal inanities i'd imagine.

Times up for Ruben. He simply has to go.

This system does not work in the PL. And his reluctance to tweak ANYTHING is going to cost us. Circling the drain.

It isn't the system that's causing these issues, but it is much more likely the coaching, as we're so sloppy all over the pitch.

All the goals we conceded today, and most this season, have been due to a comedy of errors from missing simple passes, to basic defensive positioning being all wrong.

Amorim, or whoever replaces him, needs to get a Carlos Queiroz style assistant to drill basic defending into the squad.

Hes playing in the wrong position as well. Bruno has plenty of faults but this isnt on him.

I kinda hope so.... Nothing changes unless something changes

I'm honestly livid about the officiating. Absolute scandelous decisions. But the performance wasn't meriting a win anyway. It's not like Brentford were holding on for dear life. We looked one note throughout the game. I'm really not sure what's going on with the players and United. But when we're bad, we're fecking diabolical and that's been the case under ETH and now Amorim. Heck even Ole's final season we were fecking dreadful.

The lack of pace and urgency for me is a real glaring issue. We were behind from the 8th minute and not once did our play suggest that. We just knocked it about casually for the entire game. Infuriating.

For anyone speculating: No he won‘t be gone, he‘s here till at least the Anfield battering and probably even 1-2 confirmation batterings after that.

Ineos make sure the season is fully wasted before hiring anyone, so they can market the rest of the season as another tryout phase to put off pressure of the new guy

Losing to sides like Brentford was the only caveat.

I don't want to strike a fellow suffering Utd fan when we're this low but you have to admit now all the signs were there. The only thing from keeping you from seeing it was your blind hope. I don't blame you, it's also the only thing I've got but it was absolutely annoying reading the Amorim thread whilst being gaslit about how some of us were being negative.

That is exactly what I meant.
By the way he has been played out of position this season, so I am not surprised by his form.

3 big moments in that game . Cunha foul not given then Maguire Keeping him on..and the pen not being taken for 6 mins after it was given. 3rd goal was just rubbing it in.. I'm fed up with this shit now.. 3 away games and lost 2 And if you can't beat Brentford away your Miles off, you can get these results in a season , but it's common practice now.. Bruno misses 2 pens away from home and we get 1pt out of them. Amorin out shouts again now all week and imo I didn't want him to go but after this shit show he's got 1 leg out of the door .

and skip on that nice payout, no chance, the man has been waiting for that payout, just look at him when he thinks we might win, you can clearly see the disappointment of the delayed cash in on his face
I'm worried that this is the real reason the club is still backing him, they can't afford to sack him.

Have you seen the VAR's explanation for no red card for Collins? It looked like Mbueno didn't have full control over the ball and therefore a yellow card sufficed. Are they making up rules as we go or is there some truth to that explanation?

He should have been gone after the UEL final. It was a mistake to keep Ole in those circumstances and we just let history repeat itself. Ruben is not a winner and nowhere near the level for this league. It is hard to think of any manager that would be a step down from this.

    Don’t disagree

I don't think we can say that given we had Arsenal, City, and Chelsea in the first five games. Those were always going to be dropped points. Its the so called winnable games that we should be accruing most of our points in and losing to Brentford is obviously a statement that we haven't improved.

Surely if he didn't have full control the penalty was wrong as well. If it was a penalty it was a red card surely.

If you can’t understand that goals change games bro. Then I can’t help you. Keep blaming the manager because that’s the easiest thing to do.
The manager has been here nearly a year and has not won back to back PL games. He is clearly the problem

I will definitely not be watching Utd again till such time as Amorim has gone. Watched Utd get relegated once before under Tommy Docherty but the football was far better than this rubbish. We have a system where first choice pass is backwards and forward passes are hit and miss. I gave up counting the number of passes we just gave away at thirty five, and that was well before half time. Just noticed Nuno Espirito Santos has got the job at West Ham. Another decent manager going to a minor club and most likely having them in top half by Christmas. What a mess we are in!!

I’m curious how much of our 2.03 was Dzeko’s 3 shots taken to score the goal
I was going to ask this. Can you feasibly get an xG of more than 1 in a single attack? If a player had a penalty saved and then tapped in the rebound for example. Or do they find a way round that?
