    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Matic Pogba
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford
    Martial

Strongest 11 for now. Bring vdb on for one of the front 5. Williams for AWB too to give him some time at right back.
    This.

First team based on form should be

    Henderson

    AWB Bailley Maguire Shaw

    Donny Matic

    Greenwood Bruno Rashford

    Marital

Pogba, De Gea and Lindelof dont deserve their place at the minute

I really hope we do not drop Bailly for Lindelof, that guys head just doesn't seem to be in the game right now,

This won't be easy, they played Chelsea off the park in the first game and somehow came away with a loss.

Solid win at Newcastle also. We will have to be at our best. Think Rashford will have his work cut out for him against Lamptey.
I wouldn't be massively shocked if he starts Lingard on the left because of him.

Not saying that he will, but yeah.

Brighton have been playing a 3-5-2 recently with Lamptey as a wing back so it'll be between Rashford/Shaw to decide who covers him, but he's a nippy little bugger and playing really well recently. Hopefully we can pin them back with possession.

Not sure why people are putting Pogba in the team? He was abysmal last time out and will be abysmal again against an energetic team like BHA

This will be a very tough game. Pogba is a no go with such an energetic Brighton team, He will get pressed like crazy and even at his best he is very subject to defensive brain farts. Pump the team with energy and play our best front 4 and we can win this.

Sick of 'Iceman'. Need to squeeze a couple of games out of Bailly before he returns to the treatment table.

Not confident for that game, I hope we'll recover some sort of form.
Saturday wasn't it, yesterday a bit better.

Brighton plays very well with that 3-5-2, quality players in White, Lamptey, March, Trossard etc.
I'm not talking about Bissouma because he got himself a red at St James Park.

No, I’m not smoking crack. Lingard has looked better than Rashford post lockdown. Also I want Pogba & Bruno as 8s, not Pogba DM Bruno F9. If either PP or BF aren’t at it, hook them for Donny.

More so what Ole will play. Doubt its a good idea to give Bailly 2 games in a week either given his injury record, even though he's much better than Lindelof
I don't rate Lindelöf but calling Bailly much better than him is a classic example of absence making the heart grow fonder: Shaw's stock was rising in an unprecedented scale when he was out during the run-in. Now that he's back, fans are suddenly desperate for a left-back because, well, they saw him play again.

You could say that Bailly has higher potential than Lindelöf but up to this point he hasn't fulfilled that. His pace and athleticism makes him a better partner for Maguire than Lindelöf, in theory, I'll admit that much.

Our best 11 with 2 changes: Bailly in place of Lindelof and Fred for Pogba as he looked very unfit, for obvious reasons. Bring DVB and Pogba later if needed and for game time.

We will not be at our best fitness wise but better then the first game, hopefully we have enough quality to win.

Bailly is a disaster waiting to happen, would rather let Lindelof get back to match sharpness as soon as possible
Lindelof has been a disaster in the last 5 games, i'd rather have one waiting to happen than actively happening

Henderson; Williams, Bailly; Fred, Van de Beek, Lingard; Ighalo

Bench is a slightly tough call with McTominay & James maybe getting in over Fred/Lingard, but I think Fred & Lingard both looked sharp against Luton. We just need to start going with what our first team from the end of last season was now and hope they can gain fitness and start performing again. We will probably play them again next week, so then we can just bring back in some of the players that faced Luton. We do actually have reasonable depth in a way but the drop off to replace Greenwood/Martial/Rashford is very noticeable which is why we need Sancho or someone similar IMO.

I will admit I am a bit worried about the start of the season due to the teams we're facing and our lack of fitness. Hopefully this game gets us a bit more up to speed and we manage to win. I'm not too bothered how the result comes as long as we get it and the players get more minutes under their belt. We play Tottenham in the league next and then we've got the international break before facing Newcastle, Chelsea, Arsenal*, and Everton... It could be a really, really horrible start if we don't pick up the points here. I will not be surprised if we see a couple more defeats by the time we've hit November.

I had a strong feeling we'd lose to Palace, but I think we'll win this one. 2-1 or 3-1... something like that.

I think the surprise pick could be Dan James on the left in order to track Lamptey, but at the same time, Lamptey got kicked to bits by Newcastle, so might not even be fit to start.

Play the best 11. Or at least let's try to find the best 11 players....

    De Gea
    Awb Bailly Maguire Shaw
    Matić
    VDB Fernandes
    Greenwood Martial Rashford

First changes - Fred, Pogba, James.

Any idea on Lamptey's injury? Didn't he have to come off v Newcastle?

Shaw is going to have his hands-full with him.

    I'm hoping for:

    De Gea

    AWB
    Lindelof
    Maguire
    Shaw

    Pogba
    Fred

    Greenwood
    Bruno
    Rashford

    Martial

I feel Fred should be starting next to Pogba for the most part, Matic generally takes far too long on the ball and allows opposition to regain their shape.

Drop Pogba, McTominah and start Bailly. Maybe Van De Beek in for Pogba or else Fred.

Matic and Bailly need to start, if Pogba isn't ready yet start with VDB.
feck no, Baily is absolute tripe and struggled to get a proper handle in clearing balls versus fecking Luton. No chance in hell he should be working out Lamptey deliveries

He’s a big loss for us, expect Propper to step in instead, he’s a nice tidy player but doesn’t have the drive in midfield that Bissouma does.
Imo, Bissouma is a big reason as to why you are so good at keeping the ball under pressure. He never panics and links the play from defence to attack very well.

Considering we're not fit and, even at the best of times, our pressing as a team is unorganised, him being out is good for us. Still, I'm very impressed with the way Potter has you playing so I'm not counting my chickens yet!
    Trossard watch.
He always stands out to me whenever I watch them.

I truly hope to see Pogba play hard and fast. I know it is way too early but he is worrying me.

Like many here, I'd Bailly over Victor. Get VdB in for some middie/attacker minute 60.

I know it was vs tired Championship legs but the last 15 minutes of Luton Town gave me hope. Maybe the attack is starting to get pissed off about all the media saying United sucks and it's Sancho or bust.
