Will be Bruno and a heavily rotated team
I'd expect Heaven, maybe Yoro, Dorgu. A bit of rotation, but not going full youngster on them. They might get subbed on later in the matchBrighton still have a lot to play for and are a quality side, so I don't see why Carrick would rotate heavily and increase the risk of ending the season with a defeat. Also, Bruno deserves an honest shot at getting another assist.
Better to start at full-strength, or close to it, and then sub on the likes of Lacey.
Yeah, I might start Heaven, Dorgu and Mazraoui, but not the academy players. I also think that there is some kind of responsibility to Brighton's competitors to play it as close to a normal game as possible.I'd expect Heaven, maybe Yoro, Dorgu. A bit of rotation, but not going full youngster on them. They might get subbed on later in the match
Don't see Bruno breaking the record if that's the case, however. Can even see him being rested with the world cup presumably a bigger priority for him now.
Surely no one will do that seeing as he's not allowed to play in the league this year?In before somebody says 'play JJ Gabriel'
Oh.Would like to see some of our promising academy youngsters getting a chance off the bench like Shea Lacey, Tyler Fletcher & JJ Gabriel but not expecting it.
Since the handball it's obvious the law doesn't apply to us. I'd start 15 players if I were Carrick.Surely no one will do that seeing as he's not allowed to play in the league this year?
And Bruno twice.Since the handball it's obvious the law doesn't apply to us. I'd start 15 players if I were Carrick.
Don't think Gabriel can play in league until next seasonI only want Bruno to break the assists record. Do everything we can to get that done. Anything after that, not too bothered about it. Sesko likely to miss gameCarrick really went for it with his team selection last time, and I think in terms of the starting line-up it won't be drastically different. However, I think we might see some youth players on the bench instead of some squad players who probably won't be here. If we are selling/releasing Malacia, Ugarte, and Zirkzee then I don't see any need to involve them in this game. They'll probably still be in the squad but I'd rather they weren't.
As much as it is individual achievement driven I'd want:
Mainoo should still start anyway as he's not played as much this season - only reason not to is if he is named in the World Cup squad and it's collectively decided it's best to not risk injury but I highly doubt he wouldn't still play. The same can be said for Maguire if he has a chance of going to the World Cup, but I'd rather he just started. Maybe play Heaven over Martinez though as I think he didn't really deserve to be dropped when Martinez was back (even if I'm glad Carrick made that call). I'd rather Mbeumo and Cunha did start. Would be nice for Dorgu to start as well - hoping Sesko is at least on the bench if not starting.
- Shaw to start as it would mean he has started all 38 Premier League games in a season after such a bad time with injury
- Casemiro to start his last game and hopefully score a header to break the record for headed goals in a season
- Bruno to start and hopefully beat the Assist record
Lammens
Mazraoui Maguire Heaven Shaw
Casemiro Mainoo
Mbeumo Bruno Dorgu
Cunha

Bayindir; Dalot, Yoro; Thwaites; Mount, Lacey, Amad; Sesko, Obi
Yeah disappointing if so, but at least it doesn't matter in terms of our final position. Reckon he'd have bagged at least a couple more goals these last few games if fit though!Sesko likely to miss game
Yeah had a feeling his season was done with that injuryYeah disappointing if so, but at least it doesn't matter in terms of our final position. Reckon he'd have bagged at least a couple more goals these last few games if fit though!
How so?Don't think Gabriel can play in league until next season
Too young.How so?
Fair enough, thought he was at the minimum age to make a first team appearance and same age as that Arsenal lad Dowman.Too young.
Would you take a 5-1 thumping if it meant Bruno set up a 95 minute consolation for DalotI only care about Bruno's record here
Answered before and probably yes!Would you take a 5-1 thumping if it meant Bruno set up a 95th consolation for Dalot
No I‘d take a 97th minute Bruno backheel assist for Casemiro, to get us the 0-1 win.Would you take a 5-1 thumping if it meant Bruno set up a 95 minute consolation for Dalot

He comes on as a sub.You must dreaming if you think Cas can last 90 minutes.
Heaven and Lacey should be starting with Thwaites, Tyler Fletcher, Chido on the bench.
There's no good reason to start Mbeumo or Amad over Lacey on the right. Two out of form players and a meaningless game.
I think it makes plenty of sense. It makes zero difference if we win the game or not. On August 15th no one is going to play better because we won some game three months ago with a different team.Answered before and probably yes!
It's not supposed to make sense, I'm really invested in this record
Why would we want to hinder Brighton's European ambitions? Especially if it comes at the expense of improving Chelsea's.It’s definitely not meaningless. We can hinder their European ambitions. And break the 70 point mark.

And 68 vs 71 points when both leave you in third place is the definition of meaningless.
