I missed on Maz and Dorgu (for Dalot / Cunha), but otherwise as expected. There's no way he would start a bunch of kids and give fake testimonials to the likes of Bayindir in his first match as the official long-term manager. He'll want a positive result, and hope to wrap it up early so he can give minutes to the youngsters. The only thing was I thought there would be more young options from the bench. But I expect we'll see both Lacey and T. Fletcher get on somewhat early in the second half, unless we're losing (badly).

Ugarte can't even start when Casemiro not even in the squad

Mount-Mainoo is a mental pairing, but end of seasons vibes, who cares.

What happened to all these Portuguese speakers like Cunha, Casemiro and Dalot? Off to the world cup already?

Woohoo. This was my prediction in the line-ups. I can read Carrick's mind.

We're resting a lot of world cup players it looks like
Nobody else is being rested? Maybe Cunha, but you could argue that Dorgu deserves a start. Cunha could have been rw instead of Amad, but seems to prefer the left.

Since Dalot isn't even on the bench there's prob a small issue/illness/niggle.

Ugarte is 100% a gonner. Seems like Zirkzee too if he can't get a start in a dead rubber. Every manager has tried to nurse Mount back into being a starter. I wonder what the higher ups think, are they counting him as a midfielder for next season? It's not what most fans want to hear but I really do hope his injuries are actually finally behind him.

Dalot, Cunha, Casemiro, Sesko (are they at the world cup?)

We've lost the last 6 or 7 games that Ugarte has started or something crazy like that. He's absolutely useless. Happy to see Mount get a few minutes but he was poor there against Sunderland it has to be said. Great to see Dorgu start so we have some genuine pace

Dalot, Cunha, Casemiro, Sesko (are they at the world cup?)
Sesko's injured, hasn't featured in the squad for the last games. Cunha is on the bench, but like I said you could argue Dorgu deserves a start after positive features from the bench after coming back from injury.

Casemiro had a lot of attention on him leaving the club in the last game. It feels natural that he doesn't play today. Plus man's old.

Dalot is the only surprising one, so I expect Carrick will say something about him in pre-game comments.

Don’t understand the hate for Dalot. He has been good under Carrick.

    Quite strong.

Given how much manager's points per game totals get discussed these days it probably does take more bravery to throw kids a start in meaningless games.

Time for joga bonito. Bicycle attempts, 40 yard volley attempts, bizarre free kick routines, Lammens 90 yard run up to take a penalty, no look shots. Let's take the piss.

Bummer Sessko couldn't finish out the season with a goal or 2 and some momentum.

    Glad Dorgu gets a run.

Hopefully Mbuemo will get rolling and get Bruno the record.

    Lacey for 30m , I hope.

    OK, would you rather:

    1, draw 0-0.

2, lose 2-1 with Bruno getting an assist for the consolation goal.
That’s harder than it should be. I think number 2 which is ridiculous! I’m not sure.

He's been a decent squad player if you ignore his shooting efforts.

I hope we bring in a RB prospect in the summer that can later challenge him for the spot. But no need to splash big on that spot this summer.

    Easy...2

A 0-0 draw can still be an unforgettable spectacle. Today the result doesn't matter in the least, but I'd like to see a great performance and Bruno breaking the assist record would be a huge part of that unforgettable spectacle.

Nobody's going to care about a inconsequential loss on the final game of the season.

Everyone's going to remember Bruno breaking the assist record.

I'm interested to see how Kadioglu plays today. We were linked with him a year ago, Brighton fans rate him very highly and I think he's comfortable playing both RB and LB.

Edit: Is Baleba benched due to poor form, or making way for Milner's final send-off?

I believe he won their player of the season award .

He’s fantastic. Hoped we’d sign him when Brighton did.

….probably 2 actually and that is a bit weird. I’d like to see Bruno get the record and I’d like to see either Brighton or Bournemouth get champions league but really nothing changes for United either way today.

A minor nitpick, but I would like to have seen Heaven get the start. But with the announcement of Maguire not being in the England squad it makes sense to give Harry a runout. But, my god, Heaven has been fantastic for us under Carrick -- incredibly mature and tough in the tackle but never rash. Don't be shocked if Ayden muscles himself into featuring as a regular starter for us next season.

Hopefully Bruno gets his assist in the first half and we can put him on ice at half time.

Would've liked to see Heaven over Martinez (again). Could've considered either of them in midfield as an experiment too

Ugh no youngsters again, zzz, thought Carrick would be more in the Fergie mould.

Hattrick for Harry, all headers from Bruno crosses.
