This will definitely be a tougher assignment that Newcastle because they won't open up as much, also Utd generally don't deal with big strikers well either

They didn't have a single shot on target against Everton. We should be beating these.

Their home form is terrible, especially against supposed top 6 teams. We absolutely should win this but I’m not getting my hopes up
Shearer said it the other night:

"You never know which United is going to turn up, the one that beat both Spurs and City or the one that got done by Watford."

He's right, that's exactly how it is.

We need a three-man midfield against these types of teams (who pack the midfield and over-run our two-man standard).

I hope having Pogba back will be the key to unlocking teams like Burnley. Otherwise, or if he is uninterested, it will be another 2-1 or 2-0 loss. Newcastle showed us we can come back from a goal down, but they did gift us great opportunities. Greenwood + Pogba should start

Tough one. I know it's not flavour of the month, but I would start with three at the back, Tuanzebe coming in, to counteract the aerial threat they have, bring Williams in at LB, Fred, Pogba and Pereira in midfield, to pick up the second phase ball, with Rashford and Martial up front, playing a little more central. Williams would bomb up and down the left, with AWB the same on the right. Think this will be scrappy, so hopefully we take one of the few chances we will get, and keep a clean sheet.

These are the games where the Burnley keeper, becomes lev yassin, Gordon banks, pete schmeichel, gigi buffon, and a 17yr old Cassias ! All rolled into one.

Or we have crap strikers incapable of putting away highly presentable opportunities?

Just to make everyone aware, Liverpool scored 3 at Burnley, City and Chelsea both scored 4 and Spurs beat them by 5 at their ground... :nervous:

Can't see us winning this. We've won two PL away games since March - against shite teams in Norwich and Manchester City.

Predicting a 1-1 draw or 1-0 Burnley win.

I say we should rest the team in this match giving the fact our manager has no clue how to win them. Its a loss (at best a draw) anyways.

If it's Pereira for McTominay I hope that means he's deeper. Would prefer Pogba further forward.
Pereira deeper is bad. It’s better to put Pogba there. Or find a real solution.

Yeah and even Arsenal did beat them with a clean sheet if I remember it right.
Still would not trust us much. We are great at turning crap when you think we have some momentum or form.

Time to start using either Matic or Pereira alongside Fred. Or maybe Levitt deserves a shot?

Either way, smart from Ole to sub both Martial and Rashford, while resting James the whole game. It means we have a fresh attack for this game, bad news is Greenwood probably won't start.

    I think we'll see:
    De Gea
    AWB Lindelöf Maguire Shaw
    Pogba Fred
    James Lingard Rashford
    Martial

    But i'd rather see:
    AWB Lindelöf Maguire Shaw
    Matic Fred
    Greenwood Pereira Rashford
    Martial

With an attacking bench containing Pogba, James, Lingard and Mata.

A win is the most important thing at the moment, but avoiding injuries aswell. If we lose Pogba we are screwed, so use him as an impact sub till he is 100% match fit. We might aswell use Matic now as we don't have many options.

It's hard to know with Pogba how ready he is. He looks good, but how long has he been training with the ball? I tend to agree that starting him is a big risk, we can't lose him again for any extended period. Let alone with McTominay out. However, Pereira should never be deployed in midfield ever again. Only Matic, Fred and the two youngsters.

Unless Ole does the unthinkable and goes with a 3 man midfield, which would probably be sensible given the circumstances. Garner/Levitt - Matic - Fred. With Pogba coming on in the 2nd half when we've not made any chances :D

    I'd like to see

    --------------------de Gea
    AWB---Tuanzebe---Maguire---Williams
    ----Garner------Matic------Fred
    James--------Martial------Rashford

With Pogba and Greenwood coming on when we need them. I don't think Lindelof can cope against a physical side like Burnley.

Pogba has to start for me.

Also, I'd be tempted to give Axel and run out and see if him and Maguire could get some sort of partnership together.

Of Course Pogba isn't 100% fit but it's time for him to get 60 mins. We're not in a position to rest him and play this team.

Given how clueless our attack and how clumsy our defence usually is when it comes to face a low block with quick counter and long ball I don't have high hope for this match.

Actually my only hope is Pogba could do something but as he will probably play deep again due to McT's injury so pretty no hope at all. It's gonna be ugly imo.

Considering we’ve won 3 and drawn 2 of the last 5 meetings, our overall league record against them looks quite crap
They were one of the founders of the league. Quite a big team way way back.
Got to the quarter final in The European cup once too.

This is arguably the toughest game of our season. They will bully and foul us off the park and make it very hard to get a goal. If we can put two or more past these it will be a turning point.

Predict 1 - 1 for today's game. An ugly game where Shaun Dyches team will be set out to contain and frustrate us on their small pitch.
