    Smalling - Bailly - Blind
    Valencia - Herrera - Fellaini - Young
    Mkhitaryan - Rashford - Pogba
We probably have to copy their formation to stand any chance. Pogba doesn't have the discipline to compete with Kante/Matic. His pace could be better used in attack. Young has played as a left wingback in a similar formation under van Gaal so would be a better option than Blind. They will probably edge it 2-1.

    Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw

    Carrick, Herrera, Pogba

    Mickey, Rashford, Martial

Is the lineup I'd go for. Mata is a big game player so I can see Jose favouring him over Martial.

think with Rashford, Mhiki and Martial we could scare them on the break

Bailly will be a welcome addition at the back

    ------------------------------DDG---------------------------
    Valencia--------Bailly----------------Smalling---------Shaw
    ---------------------Carrick-------Herrera----------------
    Mata----------------------Mhiki--------------------Martial
    ------------------------------Rashford----------------------

only worry there for me is Hazard and Valencia and I can see Mourinho going for Lingard perhaps

Game of the season at this point. The most important cup left to fight for. Got a feeling we will win.

Europa league is the most important cup left to fight for. It's a trophy and guarantees CL football next year.

General opinion is that we have no chance, in a single game FA Cup tie.
Because football is so predictable according to majority of people, I am going to say this will be a United win.

Not feeling very confident about this tbh. I think they'll get a couple on the counter.
    2-1 Chelsea.

We'd lose anyway but Michael Oliver is their insurance package

We've won like twice in the last 25 games he's refereed of ours

He's given a penalty against us in every single game this season

    We're done

God there are some right negative buggers in here. As long as we don't have the same calamitous start as we did in the league I can see us nicking a narrow win

    HELLO
I think we should just go for it. Feck trying to cater to their formation. Play to our strengths, that isn't having 5 defenders and Fellaini in the team. I'd honestly play Blind instead of Carrick but Mourinho has shown that he doesn't consider Blind a proposition in the middle. No 1-0 starts this time.

    Mata Pogba Mkhi
    Blind/Carrick Herrera
    Shaw/Blind Smalling Bailly Valencia

Chelsea Football Club (also known as The Blues and The Pensioners) are a professional football club based in Fulham, London. Chelsea were founded on 10 March 1905 at The Rising Sun pub (now The Butcher's Hook) after Gus Mears had previously acquired the Stamford Bridge athletics stadium with the aim of turning it into a football ground. Since there was already a team named Fulham in the borough, the name of the adjacent borough, the Metropolitan Borough of Chelsea, was settled on.

Chelsea's first major title success came in the form of the League Cup with the appointment of former Arsenal player, Ted Drake, who also led Chelsea to the their first ever League title, enabling them to compete in the European Cup, but after objections from The Football League and the FA, Chelsea were persuaded to withdraw from the competition before it started - allowing Matt Busby's Manchester United to start their illustrious adventure with the competition.

After decades of being non-competitors, Chelsea returned to the domestic title fore in 2003 under new owner Roman Abramovich, who fueled an unprecedented spending spree - starting in the mid 2000s. Since the takeover, Chelsea have won 1 Champions League title, 4 Premier League titles, 4 FA Cup titles, 1 Europa League title, and 3 League Cup titles, among others. Chelsea's most prominent rivalries include local clubs Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, title rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Leeds United. Chelsea play their home games at Stamford Bridge - which had been their home for over a century.

If Chelsea had a midweek match or any midweek matches at all this season this would be more of a game but their squad is just more fresh because of the lack of games and never need to make any changes at the back. Adding the absence of Zlatan to the mix in a team that doesn't really score goals makes Chelsea heavy favorites.

With Ibrahimovic out, I can see Mourinho starting Fellaini really. He just loves physicality.

What happens if its a draw at the end of the 90? Does it go to a replay?

Fellaini will not be able to cope with the agility of the likes of Kante, Hazard, Pedro in and around him. Especially with only Herrera to support him. I don't mind Fellaini in a 3 but not in a 2. Also I have no idea where you got the idea that Pogba has pace.

Reckon Shaw and Rooney start here, along with de Gea, Valencia, Bailly, Carrick, and Martial returning to the starting line-up. My money would probably be on Smalling, Herrera, Pogba, and maybe Mkhitaryan starting as well (possibly Lingard/Rashford instead). It's also possible that three at the back in Russia was a rehearsal for this game..

I don't think Jose will use 3 at the back for this one, tonight's circusmstances were unique to the pitch. I think Jose will want to keep Rojo in the side and will unfortunately use him at LB which he should have realized is a bad idea at this point. I also expect Rooney to start and Bailly to come back in.

Smalling and Bailly was the partnership at the 4-0 wasn't it? No thanks!

Would rather have Rojo and Bailly with Shaw at LB. Martial over Rooney

Just can't see a victory here, as much as I'd love one. We're overdue a win at the bridge but it's unlikely to come minus our top goal scorer and after us playing in Russia tonight while they'll be fresh. 2-1.
And Michael Oliver referreeing the game, just makes it almost impossible to win this game.

I do remember Smalling having the worst performance I have ever seen from a MUFC defender. And I think he was also the Captain.
    I remember Pogba being useless.
I remember Baily also being useless.
Personally, I'd go with Rojo/Jones as our CBs in this match. Generally they don't concede more than 1 goal a match, so this would be a good test for those 2.
Smalling will still have memories of what CFC did to him in the last game at S.Bridge.

Interesting to see how we line up against them, either be a scrappy game with a narrow win or a complete demolition job, not feeling that confident but hey, we might get lucky.

If I remember right Smalling cost us both of the first 2 goals. I think Bailly would have been fine if he didn't have Smalling as his partner that day so I think he should start.

That really was a disgraceful performance by Smalling
