Crystal Palace Football Club, nicknamed CPFC, The Glaziers and The Eagles, are a professional football club based in South Norwood, London; and were founded in 1905 at the site of the famous Crystal Palace Exhibition building by the owners of the FA Cup Final stadium, who wanted their own team to play at the historic venue. When Crystal Palace were founded, they turned to one of the biggest clubs in the country at the time, Aston Villa, to seek advice. Villa helped the club in a number of ways, not least by donating their kit. As a result, Palace's colors were originally claret and blue shirts paired with white shorts, socks tending to be claret. They kept to this formula fairly consistently until 1938.

The club initially played their home games at the FA Cup Final stadium which was situated inside the grounds of The Crystal Palace, but the First World War saw them forced to move out, and they enjoyed a number of seasons at both the Herne Hill Velodrome and The Nest. Although Crystal Palace have never won a major trophy, they have played in the First Division for the majority of their existence, finishing 3rd once, and losing the 1990 FA Cup Final to Manchester United. Crystal Palace play their homes games at Selhurst Park, and share sporting rivalries with South London neighbors Milwall, former tenants Charlton, and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Can see Mata, Rooney and possibly Bailly coming in for Mkhitaryan, Carrick and one of the CBs. Another 3 points very important from this match.

Palace are wank but we'll make it difficult for ourselves yet again.

No Mkhitaryan will be a blow, but Mata should be more than enough cover.

    Team should be...

    -------------De Gea-------------
    TFM---Jones---Rojo---Darmian
    ------Herrera-----Pogba------
    Mata-------Rooney-------Martial
    -------------Zlatan-------------

Subs: Romero, Bailly, Blind, Carrick, Fellaini, Rashford, Lingard

Got a horrible feeling we'll see Rojo at LB though

Zaha will absolutely murder Darmian with the form both are in. Hopefully we bring Fosu(?) in for the suspended Valencia and Blind for Darmian.

We need rotation here. I fear more injuries if Jose doesn't give a few a rest.

Don't think Martial will play after that display. More likely Lingard or Rashford.

I would stick with Martial for this game too as a LW and start Rashford as a striker. Zlatan needs a break to start the game on saturday. Surely he can't start 4 games in 10 days.

    Somewhere they can't find me.
Might see some rotation for this one
    Rooney
    Martial Mata Lingard
    Herrera Fellaini
    Blind Baily Rojo Jones
    DDG
    Pogba, Rashford on the bench.
Probably not the best XI; a bit concerned about Ibra and Valencia playing 3 games within a week. Pogba too could do with a rest.

Looking at the fixtures we "should" be looking at getting a run together on paper. You tend to get injuries and suspensions though this time of year.
Expect Fellaini to start just to spite today's haters.

Mkhitaryan injured, Valencia suspended, Carrick would save for West Brom on the weekend. Shaw and Smalling I assume still out. Rojo/Jones both deserve to play, but Bailly to deal with Benteke would give me more confidence. Really need to build on this win and get a run going. Palace are a bit shit but away to them is always a grind I feel like.

Although Jones and Rojo were great tonight, when is Mourinho going to start Bailly? No way he should be out of the team, he's a superb player. Will he wait for an home game (Sunderland at Boxing Day) to rock the boat a little?

Also, no doubt Bailly as right center-back would easily partner with Rojo at the left, but would Jones have to move to the left for him?

Has Martial lost his place today? Rashford surely didn't grab the opportunity…

He is just back from injury and only played three days ago.

We need a resounding performance for this one. It would be the perfect time for a thrashing along the lines of 5-0 to keep building our belief and momentum.

Thoughts on whether Carrick will start? Unsure if it's asking too much of him...

True. I'll still stick with Martial.

Rashford after coming in the first thing he does is run the ball out of play.

I'd rather Mou try playing Martial into form and just be patient with him. It's not like the other options would improve from a poor Martial(Rashford and Lingard)

No way Carrick's playing Wednesday and Saturday, so I guess the question is what game do we need him more (supposing he's physically available come Wednesday).

It won't happen, but I'd almost be tempted to play Bailly as a holding midfielder to rest Carrick and keep Jones - Rojo partnership together. He's not the best passer in the world but he's ok, and he'd be an asset when Palace counter as he's rapid himself.

Think Rooney and Mata will both definately start as well.

    Darmian - Jones - Rojo - Blind
    Bailly
    Herrera - Pogba
    Mata - Zlatan - Rooney

Yes, that well thought, the thing about starting Bailly, but hard to happen. The fact that we have to change formation because Carrick's not available for every game is a nuisance.

Blind could be tried there too.

I'm guessing Carrick will be rested and we know Valencia and Mkhitaryan will be missing. Hopefully Blind comes in at LB and Jose keeps faith in Martial. I think Young will replace Valencia and I imagine Mata will come back in on the RW.

Why are we playing on next Saturday, less than 3 days after Wednesday's game?

I would only make enforced changes. We need consistency and momentum and that will not happen by keep disrupting the rhythm. There's a case for Bailly but make him earn his place, Rojo and Jobes are solid. No player deserves stepping down today other than Darmian and to a lesser extent Martial.

I dont have a great feeling about this to be honest.

    De Gea
    Bailly Jones Rojo Blind
    Pogba Herrera
    Mata Rooney Martial
    Ibra

Really this team should be capable enough to dispatch Palace, but who knows what will happen.

I don't like Darmian and Mata on the same side though. Maybe Fosu-Mensah at right back.

Completely forgot about Young. He'll definitely start at right back, with Darmian or Blind at left back. Bailly will probably start this one too. No need to risk injury for jones when there are options. Same with Carrick. Go with Herrera/pogba/mata midfield 3, then rooney, ibra, martial front 3. My guess at least.

I know they are all huge but this game could actually shape our season, if we don't win it's back into that old routine of doubting our players. Win and we will be bouncing into the West Brom game on a roll.
