People are random in this place. As soon as a player become non United he gets given this amazing reputation and inflated ratings by our Caf residents and the contrary happens when a player signs for United.

This is why this forum constantly overrate City players and get off underrating our own players.

It's an odd mentality on this forum.

I don't think anybody would be surprised if United dropped points here. We seem to have trouble winning 2 in a row (3 if you include the EL) but I think it's time United win.

    That said, I'm going 1-1

    Bailly at RB?

Apparently when we signed him I remember people saying he could play there.

Or you can just watch him play a bit.

What's up with Shaw, is he injured?

If he's fit he should be on the field for this one, from a physical standpoint he'd be our only wide back who could deal with Zaha.

Is what I expect to see.

We had a lot of games recently and our game against WBA is less than 3 days after that. Rojo needs a bit of rest, so does Carrick. He's surely tired and will be more needed for WBA game anyway. Darmian should play better on the his 'natural' right side, altho I would love to see TFM getting a chance there. Not sure if Jose is willing to take some risk there though...Mata and Rooney are rested and ready, perfect opportunity to use them. I have a feeling that Rooney is on the up recently and I hope for a good showing from him. Martial is still not playing well enough but Rashford is filling me with even less confidence on the left to be honest. Memphis as a 3rd option is...not being considered. There's outside chance we'll see Young on the right and Darmian on the left but I really hope not...

He picked up a knock, against Feynoord I think, so will be back soon enough

He played there once against Real Madrid and did a good job on Ronaldo. I think he's only ever done a handleful of performances there though. I would personally put Jones RB and Bailly CB if we had to change it.

    - Bailly needs to get back into our starting XI. Sorry Jones, but Rojo has been slightly better.
    - I'm not ready to give up on Shaw yet. I refuse to believe that last year was just a fluke.
    - I'd love to see Carrick start every game, but I think he needs a rest before the Christmas program fully kicks in. That means a midfield two of Herrera and Pogba for this game.

Rashford and Rooney to come on if we're chasing a goal after 60 minutes.

Front four has played before and when they've played we've won. Think this should be good enough to be honest. I am worried for Darmian though, hope Blind comes in for him.

It's unfortunate Mkhi is out but United really need consistency now and I'm going with a fair and square 0-2.

Thoughts on whether Carrick will start? Unsure if it's asking too much of him...
It seems to be the case that if Carrick starts we win.
If he does not, we draw/lose.
Either Carrick is our best and most influential player or it is one heck of a coincidence.

He doesnt need to be our best to be our most important, and he doesnt need to be our most important to be damn important. Either way I certainly dont think it is a coincidence.

Palace are a pile of turd at the moment. Their ground is generally fantastic, one of the best away atmostpheres in the league (if not the best). But we should really cruise the game anyway given how poor they are under Pardew.

Palace will defend, defend, defend. They're shit at it, but we will struggle to break them down with our slow passing and they'll hit us on the break at least once....towards the end. 1-1.

Had it in my head that we were playing West Brom tomorrow since Sunday  glad it's Palace when we're missing one of our best and most consistent players this season.

The only things I'm sure of about our back five tomorrow are that de Gea plays and Rojo does not play at Left Back. The rest is all up for debate:

Darmian, Young, Fosu-Mensah, Bailly or Jones at RB?

    Bailly/Rojo, Jones/Rojo, or Jones/Bailly?

Blind, Darmian, or Young at LB?

I'd probably be tempted to say: Young, Bailly, Rojo, Blind.

My guess would also be Carrick doesn't play here, but at WBA instead. Herrera and Pogba to play, with Rashford, Mata, Rooney, Zlatan.

    De Gea
    Young Bailly Rojo Blind
    Herrera Pogba
    Rashford Mata Rooney
    Ibrahimovic

Carrick started against Arsenal and Everton (draws).

Is Martial going to be dropped just because of his lack of defensive solidarity against Tottenham?

Nah we'll beat them easily. I was more worried about the Spurs game and we came through that ok, even if a little nervily at the end. It's just a bit frustrating that we can't get all our players in form at the same time. Just imagine if we had the Tony Martial and Rashers from last season and Depay/Schneiders actually living up to the hype surrounding them when they were bought. We would be unstoppable with the team we have.

I'm not worried about this game. The Baggies will be a greater test at the weekend. But it doesn't mean we can be complacent. Palace probably will nick a goal but we will score more than them. 2-1 or 3-1 to United.

If Carrick is physically available for this game, I would use him, in order to disrupt the first team the least possible, now that Mkhitaryan is out. The West Brom game, potentially more difficult, will then become easier if we win this one.

And playing two games a week, will Ibrahimović ever get a rest? Mourinho would probably start Rooney there ahead of Rashford, though.

This should be where having a good squad helps us gain points as European football is on hold and it's a busy schedule for all teams. So yes we played sunday, Wed and sat but so do Palace. Think we will win our next two games and others will drop points.
