Relief that we won, definitely played better in games we lost this season.
It was a good win because we hardly deserved it. Too many mistakes. Crystal Palace were a lot more threatening and had better chances. Our goals were a handball where our player wasn't near the defender and the 2nd goal came because their defender crashed into Speroni.

Really frustrated with the build up for the most part. Too many high balls forward. Really thought Fellaini's presence hindered our game at times. It's like he makes the players around him worse at times and plays better himself. He was the only thing Valencia saw all day. So much wasted by Valencia. Mata was good, Young ok. Didn't think Valencia, Smalling and Evans had a good game. De Gea won those points. Rest were average.

A very tough game to play. Crystal Palace can play. Those three points were scrappy and they're definitely going to sleep highly disappointed with the outcome.

In the end it's three points for us that will settle 4th unless Liverpool win tomorrow which is highly doubtful.

    Still laughing at Scousers.
Fellaini will be exposed more than he now is next season because teams will know how to play against him. But he wasn't the worst offender today in an pretty average squad performance. We've had too many poor moments and that was a shaky performance. To respects sides is one thing but to be almost on a back foot at this stage of the season shows how far we have to go to reach our old level.

"It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile winning's winning."

I mean I was furious behind the computer today with the incompetence of some of our players but we won, we're there. Now to the transfer market for two defenders and holding midfielder, well maybe striker too..
We didn't win. We got 4th. That is not good enough. If you think it is, oh how the mighty have fallen.

Back in Manchester from London and Selhurst Park.....what a long trip, it wasn't a great performance from us and now :boring: But we've got 3 points!!! :D

Crystal Palace have the best home fans in the Premier League!!!

    Have we lost 8-0?
Err... yes? I'm going to go with yes. :D

Deary me, what a ridiculous exaggeration. Even if we'd drawn, Liverpool may not win again this season and we've got a game after Arsenal to play as well.

Look at how we were playing against the better sides in the league a few weeks ago, how can you say we can't get anything against Arsenal?

I know we weren't very good today but jesus christ, some of you are ridiculous.
DDG is the main reason for our place in the league table thus far. I think all of us agree with that. The palace game panned out exactly the way the majority fans predicted, and DDG's save let us win. Hopefully, I am more clear now. Getting fourth is the very minimal expectation, so I cant say LvG had a successful season with us. The jury is still out.

Take a look at the goalie save stats. Without looking how do think Courtois and DDG compare. Once you have guessed, go take a look. I think you will be surprised at what you find.

Fourth is never good enough for United. Fourth is never a success, but relatively it's what we absolutely had to achieve this season. We could still finish third or even second and if we did that, I'd say it's a good season overall. You can't say that De Gea is the only reason we are where we are and even if you could, surely having good players is pretty tantamount to being a successful football team?

It is. But most importantly is to have the best manager possible, and his work is evaluated by the final position of his team in the league table. Taking into account the squad we have and amount of money invested in it, I'd say that the 4th place is the minimum expected from LvG, and we could well be keeping the fight for it till the last gameweek. The biggest contributor for our fourth place is DDG. He is having one of those seasons when a player is carrying the team single-handedly.
