A very welcome three points away to a decent side. Palace were clearly tired, coming off the European game a few days ago but United played some nice football at times and can enjoy the trip back home. Good to see Martinez back.

    Amorim in!

    Haha oh my days.

Not convinced at all but will take the three points

Palace haven't lost at home in ages, they're a very difficult side to beat, this is the kind of win that we haven't been capable of for a few seasons so it's a clear sign of improvement.

Two very dull teams. Great 3 points but still this system is shit we barely create chances.

2 completely different halves. Not just in energy but in individual play. Zirkzee was trash in the first but much better in the 2nd. Great finish and some really well played touches and passes.

I thought Shaw and De Ligt were fantastic. Maz did a great job off the bench.

I would’ve been happy with a point but getting 3, especially here, is awesome.

There have been some signs of improvement but I'd feel a lot more confident if we hadn't just had to worst performance in ages less than a week ago.

Good to see them bounce back and play with the required intensity second half though.

Good to see Mount having word with Yoro, who was clearly gutted when he was subbed out.
Mount been one of the only success stories this season, if he can stay fit he has to
Play because he tracks back to be the third midfielder and makes a huge difference to this team.

Zirkzee looked a completely different player in the second half, he needs a last chance of 7 or 8 match run and hope he can start to perform he’s definitely a confidence player who needs the love of his coach, team mates and the fans!

Some people here really wanted us to lose to get rid of Amorim.
    Despicable

    Yeah agreed.

I’m just still miserable from Everton which we absolutely should have won, would have been third and still on a good run of results

Good to get the three points here but I’ve lost all confidence that Amorim is capable of momentum and consistent performances

He had to foul him, Hughes was lining up a shot. Bruno should have had the ball up the other end of the pitch.

Hughes gets a slight tug and maximises it, still gets the free kick . Dalot does the same and gets nothing. The inconsistency is so annoying.

Anyway, great result. Palace recently been a bogey side of ours and we don’t often tough games out.

The Everton match was so demoralising.

All I can say to you is to try and remember that progress isn't linear. There'll be plenty of bumps, but as long as the trend curves upwards then we're ok.

Just 8 points behind Arsenal now, with two thirds of the season left to play.

That loss at home to Everton was shooting ourselves in the foot.
But for that and points thrown away at Fulham, we’d be in 2nd place now.

Still, we are now in touching distance of a top 4 place.
Just don’t feck the opportunity up with more clumsy losses.

Crazy, I thought it was one of his worst performances for us

I totally understand that, I was at the Everton match and the lack of urgency and general fear in the players was infuriating.

But this was a huge bounce back, honestly it speaks much more highly of what the team is capable of than if the results were inverted.

Scoring 2 goals against the second best defense in the league away from home is not too shabby.
Like I said the result is great but we barely created chances. The two goals came from very well taken set pieces. Take those two chances and we barely created anything.

Zirkzee! You beauty! First goal of the season, and we're not even in December yet!

Definitely our day. If they'd put in 15 mins like the start of the second half on Monday instead of that insipid effort, we could have been in 3rd right now.

Crazy, I thought it was one of his worst performances for us
For what its worth, I agree with you. Didn't think, he was good today.Upped his game in 2nd half just as anybody else but he came from pretty deep down below so...

I'm a startup founder so I know this well.

But Monday, IMO was just utterly unacceptable.

Felt like such a big win, one of the biggest under Amorim. Because it was Palace away, their home form and riding high in the table. Our record to them of late. Coming off the back of the Everton shambles, missing important players in attack. This felt like one of the tougher games before the end of the year in this supposedly 'easier' run of games. So happy, but you just know with this team, don't get too ahead of yourself...

Funny but I was very calm in the 2nd half once we scored. Palace seemed to immediately fade / panic and we massively grew in confidence and intensity

A rare, rare feeling indeed, but once we went 2-1 up, I always felt we would hold on

Worryingly thin squad. When AFCON starts its gonna be even more dire.
    Squad during AFCON:

Mount---Zirkzee----Cunha (should be back by time AFCON tourney starts.)

    Dorgu---Casemiro--Mainoo---Dalot

    Martinez/Shaw--De Ligt---Yoro

Subs: Maguire, Heaven, Chido(any sign of him lately?). I've forgotten who else is available, been so long since I've seen anyone else. (As of this writing, Bruno has taken a knock in the Palace game).

First thing I would do is stop buying dross from other leagues. No more Sesko, Hojlund, Zirkzee. I'm more than happy paying premium for proven PL players from Bournemouth, Wolves, Brentford, Palace, Brighton, etc.
This is the only way the club will succeed is to focus on PL proven players aged 20-24 who are hungry and want to further their career at a big club like United, we need players that have something to prove every time they take the pitch.

I happen to think all three of those strikers would have been ok had we kept all three and told them all they had to compete with each other and need to score and assist to play week in week out, I also think with two absolute elite wing backs we could have played a 3412 or 352 on some occasions and been a far better side. All three of those CF are young and unproven but they could have come good !

Not to diminish your result yesteday but we’ve lost 3 of the 4 games after a Thursday European fixture and our game against Everton followed a very similar trajectory; played well first half and then faded badly. Certainly something you can build on but I think you’re taking the right approach in not getting carried away!

Yeah I'm with you, Palace did fade badly. I guess that's often the difficulty with making it to Europe and having a squad to cope with the extra games midweek.

His lawyer’s comment that “everything came to a crescendo on the day in question" seems somewhat unfortunate in the context.
