Everton's last three home games have been:

    0-0 vs Liverpool
    2-0 vs Chelsea
    1-0 vs Arsenal

This is going to be fecking tough.

I'd contemplate dropping DDG, but not sure that would be a good move currently.

    ................ DDG
    Dalot Smalling Lindelof Young
    ... McTominay Fred Pogba
    . Lukaku Sanchez Rashford

    ---------De Gea
    Dalot Smalling Lindelof Young :(
    ----Fred Matic Pogba
    -Rashford Lukaku Sanchez

    2-1 Everton or 1-1.

I'm expecting to win this one. It will be somewhat like the Leicester away win. Grab an early goal and then put in a good defensive performance.

Our record at Goodison over the past few seasons doesn't seem that bad from memory but I haven't checked the stats. We really need a big performance here either way or our season us only going to go from painfully bad to even worse.

They have nothing to play for, lost 2-0 to Fulham.

Hoping we find some passion and win.

We are still a scalp for most teams. Everton will be well up for this, although I think Ole will get the lads motivated enough to secure a narrow win. Only one goal in it, and hopefully it's for us.

    De Gea

    Dalot
    Lindelof
    Smalling
Young (Let's be honest, we can't really drop him - it's either him or Rojo)

McTominay (Although I feel Matic will return for this)
    Fred
    Pogba

    Sanchez
    Rashford
    Lukaku

That's what I hope it'll be. Bloody hope Greenwood is on bench at least.

Midfield battle is the key. No Gomes for them which is good. So just pack the midfield. No 2 man midfield like last week.

Gueye will be on Pogba so someone need to step up. Lukaku and Matic should start

Conceding to Fulham after beating Chelsea & Arsenal means absolutely nothing at this point, imo. Everton can raise their game against anyone and as far as I know, they won't be pleased with Pool winning the league so they'll definitely try to end our season.

Add to that United's inability to string more than 3 passes, De Gea's form, impotency in attack, lack of any brain in defense and we're up for chaotic but not unintresting game.

You're thinking like a fan. Everton players aren't Everton fans.

They'll try to beat us though because that's their job. But it's not going to be because of some advanced calculations on how to thwart Liverpool's ambitions.

Absolutely agree with this, however playing on Goodison may put some pressure from their supporters onto morale.

Thankfully United's away support is very top in the country.

Last time we lost there (or against Everton in general) was LVGs first season, towards the end when top 4 was secured and we looked disinterested. Lost 3-0, think Stones scored in that one. Since then we won 3-0, drew 1-1 (thanks Fellaini) and won 2-0.

We've had a pretty crap record at Goodison in the first half of the decade up until LVGs second season (2010-2015). Lost 3-1, drew 3-3, won 1-0, lost 1-0, lost 2-0 (Moyes' last game), lost 3-0. So at least it's been improving. Still going to be very tough.

Not winning this is out of the question. Win this and we have a very good chance of securing a top 4 spot. I’ve based that on Ole’s calculations of us needing 15 points to finish , although my own mathematics says feck knows how he worked that out.

Look on the bright side, this will probably (hopefully) be Young's last game for United as part of the first team.

Love to think we can win this but the players seem to have forgotten how to play football so who knows. Goodison Park either sees us play out of our skins or not turn up - with nothing in between. Dropped points will end any hopes of top four. And am I right that if Chelsea or Arsenal win the Europa (but don't finish in top four), fourth spot won't be good enough to get into CL?

As long as we attack and start the game pressing and attacking, the way we did vs Barca (first 20 minutes or so) then we should be fine.

    Based on?
There's absolutely nothing to suggest this is even his last season with us. The contract extension suggests it definitely won't.

We just need to be clinical even if we only have 2 chances we need 2 goals, oh and don't give them free goals.

Anyone going to this? It's my first trip to Goodison and I'm quite concerned that my ticket says obstructed view, despite being in the lower section

I know it's an old stadium and the roof is low, but praying I'm not in front of a massive pillar!

Season is finished if we lose..
A while since I was at Goodison park but it could be the roof line, or supporting pillars. Or both. Rear of the lower tier is worse from my memory and it still had wooden seats. While back mind, so that may have changed

The pillar is in the lower section supporting the top section and you are behind it. Not in front. You might just miss the Ashley Young bits.

I meant as Utd's first choice right back, which he surely won't be next season, and I'd hope that Dalot starts for the rest of the season after this game but perhaps it's wishful thinking on my part!

Start Lukaku, hope Pogba is slightly less shite than he's been lately, avoid silly mistakes and we may win this.

To try some optimism: we could and should have beaten Wolves if we had taken one of our chances after McTominay's goal.
    Yeah, but we didn't.
We had 2 games and got beat in both.
If we play them again, I would bet on a draw or a loss, for us.

Pogba needs to be closer to the front line and not stuck out on the left.
Lingard needs to be benched, and I’d like to see Sanchez give the false 9 role. Apart from Pogba he’s the only other player we have who can pick a pass.

Was in the lower tier a few years back for a Villa game. Loads of pillars around but you can see most of the pitch apart from the far end corner flag by the Gladys end.
