ffs I thought this was tomorrowb

Assuming Maguire is out I think Carrick will go with this.....

    Lammens
    Dalot - Yoro - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro - Mainoo
    Amad - Bruno - Cunha
    Mbuemo

The addition of Yoro's pace and ability to defend in 1 Vs 2 situations allows us to play with a high line. The hope will be that the creative front four will be able to open them up with their dribbling and one touch football, playing most of our football in their half.

If that lineup, including switching front three positions, is not working then I hope Sesko will come on much earlier than at the 70 minute mark....

How does Carrick get this lot to come out guns blazing and not the slow sluggish shite like against West Ham? Feel like every manager going back to Ole has struggled with this

Amorim this season I felt like had us starting games well. We just couldn’t finish the chances which is a problem we’ve had for years. We can’t really kill teams off but we at least look more solid defensively now which will mean we won’t have to score 3 goals to sometimes win games

If that’s the starting line up then he’s shown that he’s not learnt anything. Mbuemo is to ineffective against teams like this up top. I’d switch him to the right and start Sesko. Mbuemo does have a great delivery and that’s one way to unlock a low defence.

Wouldn’t be surprised is they coach it. Tell them to be patient vs the low block which lowers the intensity and we end up never getting opportunities because of our zombie slow static passing.

Would like to see yoro, Maz and sesko start.

It was a packed defence+ midfield, not much anyone can do but try to find a moment.

Indeed, we're capable of going on a good run every now and then but ultimately I think the West Ham performance was probably closer to our true level.

While that was indeed not a good performance, it was still against an inform team away on a ground where we usually struggle against a manager that we usually struggle with. I am convinced we would have lost that match had we still been under Amorim or Ten Hag. That resilience to still grab a point despite an overall underwhelming performance was an important change in my opinion.

In fairness we've been the game raising cnuts the past 5 games when you consider how shit we've been the last few seasons
Exactly , given our record over the last few seasons you don't have to be game raising to take pts off us, you just have to be average and it is normally enough to cause us issues.

Carrick has done well to get the team playing above themselves and out of their passive comfort zone for his first couple of games , but the difficulty part is sustaining that as eventually players tend to drift back into old habits ,we saw that the last day.

I think we’re really being hard on the team. We had a wonderful run of 4 games before West Ham whilst playing some decent football, so let’s wait and see what the Everton game brings before jumping to conclusions about our mediocrity resuming. For what it’s worth, Carrick is doing brilliantly as an interim manager - which is what he is being paid to do. The long term sustainability of our playing styles etc is a discussion for later once the managerial shortlist is finalised .

I think Sesko has more than earned a start and I think a focal point to aim at will benefit us. Tough choice on who to drop but probably Amad.

A clean sheet would mean the world as well. Lammens and the defence have been playing well but we seem unable to stay awake for a full game. Thankfully we’ve been scoring plenty but we’re going to need to grind out those one goal wins at some point.

I’m coming over for this looking forward to seeing Everton’s new ground an hopefully smash the feckers

West Ham away were always going to be a pain in the hole, glad we made it out with a point and would have taken it before the game. They're game raising shithousers.

United, Chelsea and West Ham are top of the league form wise. So West Ham was never going to be easy.

Still after a fortnight off the players should be full of energy.

Only 1 more week to go :( haha

There is absolutely no excuse for us not winning this one when we will have had so much rest and preperation time for it.

    The assigned officials are:-

Referee: Darren England. Assistants: Scott Ledger, Akil Howson. Fourth official: Adam Herczeg. VAR: Paul Howard. Assistant VAR: Sian Massey-Ellis.

Their home form has not been good recently. In fact they've not won at home since December 6th. Since then they've drawn with Wolves and Leeds, and lost to Arsenal, Bournemouth and Brentford.

We need to win here. Also to avenge that terrible loss at Old Trafford.

There were so many smarmy Everton fans when they beat us this season. I usually like them but hoping we trounce them here.

We all know the Moyes steps up his game against us home or away regardless. It will be a tough match with him giving a smug interview at the end if he makes us drop points.

If Maguire is out, id fancy seeing Licha partnered with Heaven for this one. Both are more comfortable on the ball than Yoro. Be interesting to see how they do as a pairing.

Fully expecting an Ndiaye audition but I think we'll win this one. Everton are pretty sketch defensively. I was more worried about West Ham away than I am about this one.

Hope he starts Sesko over Amad.

Is that surprising? You were in terrible form and the game began with us getting a player sent off for fighting with his own teammate. If there is ever a game to be smarmy after, it's that one!

Annoying that this isn't on over the weekend.
