    This just became a spicy game with happened on deadline day. Start Zirkzee for the ultimate windup.

    Sesko to come on at half time and we win 2.1
     
    I just remembered this lot beat us last season after going down to 10 men after about 10 minutes. That was the lowest of the low points for me. That should be motivation enough for our lads to want to get revenge. I really hope we are fired up. If we are we beat them easily, if not it's another Hull.
     
    Hoping the 5 goals against Ipswich will boost our attack. Let’s start banging in goals. We have enough in attack to outscore most teams.
     
    Everton losing Ndiaye in the window is a boost for us as he was a dangerous player for them. But their threat is obviously going to come from set pieces especially after seeing what Hull did to us. Everton's conduct at corners last season was a joke, Lammens was being practically pushed over the line rugby style. Hopefully the ref clamps down on that early.

    Can't see us keeping a clean sheet. The game reeks of a score draw but I'll be positive and go for a 2-1 win. Would be a good game for Rashford to re-open his account with United, I think he has a decent record against Everton if I'm not mistaken?

    Baleba will be out for 3 weeks or so, I’ve heard up to 6 weeks for Amad

    You’d start Heaven against a team that consistenly just lumps it into the opposition box? No thanks, that’s a recipe for calamity. We have to start our strongest team for the Everton game without question.

    What does “a team marginally strong enough to beat” even mean? Football doesn’t work like that, especially in the PL.

    We need to put our strongest team out against Everton, use our subs smartly, and then rotate a bit but not too much against Sabah.

    I believe we will comfortably beat Everton if we put out our strongest XI

    Carrick has shown last season that we can almost certainly beat any team as long as they are all fully fit only playing 1 game a week, but we don't have this luxury anymore

    We can't trot out the same strongest XI week in week out

    The alternative is to start our usual Maguire + Licha, but that would mean Yoro and Heaven are both starting against Sabah and I don't feel good about starting 2 young CB in their UCL debut together without some experience in there.

    That's what I meant when I said Carrick, this season, will need to consider the next match while picking the lineup for the current one. It can't be like last season's no-brainer strongest XI every game

    Everton are rubbish and are all over the place following a dreadful transfer window. They have lost arguably their best player (I do like Dewsbury-Hall...) so I expect us to beat them, convincingly.

    Havent liverpool won something like twice at Everton in a decade or so. One of which was a scabby last min winner last season.
     
    I'm quite confident. I watched them against Bournemouth and thought they were very poor. Ndiaye looked bright particularly in the first half but that's irrelevant now, and as their best player he is now gone.

    I don't see other players in their attack that really worry me. Their two centre backs will throw themselves in the way of things, but honestly that's about it. Seems like they had a shocking window, a shocking deadline day. Everton fans aren't happy with the owners, Moyes looks miserable as well.

    It's a good time to play them and we should win.

    After last years game, we should make sure Cunha plays up against Tarkowski to wind him up. He was getting proper mad last time!

    I'd also keep Sesko on the bench for this one. Let him start on wednesday then he should be up to full match fitness.

    We should win, but it's never an easy game away from home against this lot.

    We can and should in our third PL game of the season though - players are only just getting back to match fitness. Rotation is much less of a concern now than it will be later. And you can never assume any PL game will be a comfortable win.

    I'd like to see Santos start ahead of Tielemans. I dont think Sesko will start, but he'd be much more effective against Everton's CB's ahead of Cunha.

    The false 9 thing with Cunha/Fernandes being the furthest forward won't be as effective against Everton - they wont give up as much space as Ipswich did

    I suspect it'll be the same 11 though and we'll nick it 1-0 or 2-1

    Not saying Heaven is the perfect solution...but your answer is to start rusty, 5'9 Martinez against a team that consistently just lumps it into the opposition box? We've already got Dalot who disappears at set pieces and Shaw who watches at least half of them mouth agape and on his heels. Whether Yoro or Heaven, I'd rather have another adult sized CB partnering Maguire.

    Dalot doesn't disappear in set pieces he's actually much improved with them.

    Licha I think does well against physical sides and I agree his height puts him at a disadvantage but he's not looking rusty.

    If you're looking for height I would go Yoro because Heaven is positionally pretty bad.
     
    A fast start would be good for a change. That second half on Sunday should be fresh in the mind and we should approach the game with the same again.
    We need to break away from these tepid first half, zombie football that has become the norm.
    We should be beating Everton after loosing their best player and failing to get a top forward in.
    An early goal would be amazing and put them under pressure.
     
    I'd start Sesko for his height. If he's only got 45-60 mins in him then just bring him off as a scheduled sub. He needs to get up and running for the season.

    I'd probably keep a settled side apart from that

    Santos unlucky to miss out, but he can start against Sabah along with Cunha and the likes of Yoro, Heaven etc.

    Think most games this season are going to be tight, but I've seen more of us looking like that Ipswich 2nd half than the first 135 minutes of the season. Feel like we should be confident of kicking on here.
     
    To me, the two obvious candidates for replacement are Shaw and Tielemans, but I think we are seeing notoriously slow starters, start slowly. So the only way past it is through it. Continuity rules. So I would probably go with the same team.

    My only adjustment would be to play Mbeumo up top and Rashford right. Mbeumo is a much more natural striker than Cunha and Cunha is much better in the build up. I also think Rashfords crossing from the right is a weapon that should be utilized.

    Martinez made a sloppy mistake at the end of the game, yeah, but he didn’t look rusty at all. He just played a WC final, why would there be rust?

    I’d actually start Yoro and Licha but it won’t happen of course.

    Everton + Moyes = longballs into box = Maguiro + Heaven
     
    They are good at set pieces and we are not. That’s the only thing that worries me. Hope our attack comes good and we don’t miss silly chances

    We already got our revenge for that when we went to Goodison 3 months later and beat them

    Will need to score a couple to beat these. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet like last season having already conceded 4 to Hull and Ipswich.

    I don't think it matters whether it's the third or thirty game of the season

    What matters is the recovery interval between matches. After Everton, we have 3 days recovery for Sabah, and then we have 2 days recovery for City

    If in gameweek 30, we have 6-7 days of recovery, we can put out the same starting XI with not much issues.

    You muat have forgotten the game there last year. They spent the entire game launching mortars into the box so droppjng Maguire would be insane.
