Futebol Clube do Porto, commonly known as FC Porto or simply Porto (and nicknamed Dragões (Dragons) and Azuis e brancos (Blue and whites)), is a Portuguese professional sports club based in Porto.Together with Lisbon-based rivals Benfica and Sporting CP, that have appeared in every season of the Primeira Liga since its establishment in 1934, and were the first National Champions of Portugal after clinching the Campeonato de Portugal title in 1922.

The club was founded on 28 September 1893 as Foot-Ball Club do Porto by António Nicolau de Almeida, a local port wine merchant and avid sportsman, who became fascinated with football during his trips to England. Almeida's enthusiasm and involvement with the club waned due to family pressure, and by the turn of the century, Porto had entered a period of inactivity. In 1906, José Monteiro da Costa returned to Porto after finishing his studies in England. Like Almeida, thirteen years before, he was also captivated by the English game, and together with some associates, decided to reintroduce the practice of football in the city, outside of the British circles. On 2 August 1906, Porto was revived and Monteiro da Costa appointed its president.

Porto is one of the two most decorated clubs in Portuguese football, with 86 major trophies. Domestically, these comprise 30 Portuguese league titles (five of which won consecutively between 1994–95 and 1998–99, a Portuguese football record), 20 Taça de Portugal, 4 Campeonato de Portugal, 1 Taça da Liga and a record 24 Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira. In international competitions, Porto is the most decorated Portuguese team, with seven trophies. They won the European Cup/UEFA Champions League in 1987 and 2004, the UEFA Cup/Europa League in 2003 and 2011, the UEFA Super Cup in 1987, and the Intercontinental Cup in 1987 and 2004.

Porto's biggest rivalries are with the other Big Three members and regular league title contenders, Benfica and Sporting CP. They stem from the historical, political, economical and cultural clash between the cities of Porto and Lisbon, where the other two clubs are based. The club also has a strong rivalry with city rivals Boavista, sometimes called O Dérbi da Invicta. They play their home games at Estádio do Dragão.

I hope the fans have a nice time in the city because I'm not even sure this is a match I want to watch if ten Hag is still here.

Assuming Bruno gets a 3 game ban, I’d be using this to get used to playing without him. Send him on holiday. Somethings not right, he’s been howling this year.

    Onana
Mazraoui - De Ligt - Martinez - Dalot
    Casemiro - Ugarte
    Eriksen
    Amad - Hojlund - Garnacho

This is a no brainer team. But ETH wont select this. Expect Zikzee, Rashford and Mount to be in the team alongwith Bruno

Edit : Would swap Amass for Dalot. You just cant reward such performances

If he struggles with Galatasaray and Copenhagen of all teams, then no chance against Porto on their home ground.

    Storming 3-0 win for United.

Ten Hag in movement returns briefly before a thumping at Villa a few days later

Porto is second in the league with 6 wins out of 7 with only loss being against leaders Sporting. A draw, let alone a win is optimistic imo.

I've had a few beers since my earlier post, and I think I'd stick Martinez at LB. He's been shite at CB this year, and we badly miss a left footer at LB imo.

feck it lets try something different

Not helpful, don't want to see Bruno start.
Give mount the 10 with an Actual striker in hojlund and see how we go

It's very hard to care until the manager is replaced. Any win simply provides a brief window of positivity whilst the long term outlook remains bleak

Thing is, they are probably the bookies favourites. I’d be surprised if they aren’t
Maybe, but Porto is a very young team, still rebuilding, we're not that great.
We struggle with defensive teams, but you're Man Utd, doubt you will park the bus.

Should be a good game. Can go either way.

You should be confident. We are a really, really poor side.

Yeh you're very poor, but still better than the shit we play and struggle to win in our league.
And we lost against 10 men Bodo, just awful.

Bødo/Glimt beat Porto easily last week and yet I still think United will lose. Sad times.

We are going to lose 2-0. This will be our starting 11:

    ...................Onana..............

    Mazraoui.Maguire.Martinez.Dalot

    ..............Mainoo...Eriksen..............
    .......................Bruno.....................
    Amad......................................Garnacho
    .......................Højlund..........................

Bruno can play. His ban is in english football.

Went for 2-2 result for no reason. It would actually be a good result as it's most difficult away game in Europa (Fenerbahce with Mourinho will be a challenge as well probably). Twente was a bad result and if we won that then a draw at Porto wouldn't look bad.
