With Martial his injury record i wouldnt consider Martial starting a certain thing at all?
Right? I wouldn't consider him starting a guarantee even if he is in the lineup an hour before the game. Plenty of time to get injured.

Fulham are a very energetic side. Hope to be wrong but can see them absolutely breezing past Eriksen in this game.

I’d like to think Martial could have been back earlier if we were really desperate but they have eased him in and took their time due to how integral he potentially is to ETH for the rest of the season. Maybe we didn’t want to risk him being out a considerably long time if he played through the pain barrier or with those ongoing problems, and hopefully it’s all clear now.

Eriksen is the most important player of the Danish team. He won the League with inter Milan and covers more spaces than 90% of our players. He does not get bullied

Good lineup. Well balanced, and Garnacho can be an impact player off the bench. Rashford, Martial, Bruno and Shaw all in their best positions to link up

The Elanga selection is horrible. Completely unjustified also.
It's either that or move Garnacho or Rashford out of position to the right. Rashford is key for us as a LW, so I get it. It's getting the best out of our best players rather than moving Rashford somewhere he is pretty ineffective to fit an 18 year old in.

Elanga? oh god. Why Erik?! He always rodents his way into lineups and substitution somehow. I'd rather Elanga played in the Crapabao Cup and Garnacho played in the league game.
Rashford is poor on the right and that isn't Garnacho's position either. So that only leaves Elanga to play.

Elanga doesn't offer much but I think the team is more balanced with him on the right than Bruno or Rashford.

Balance and lack of options. Garnacho has played back to back and I'd imagine Erik wants to manage him sensibly, that and none of our attacking players seem naturally comfortable on the right. Elanga is hardly a world beater but has pace and a good work rate. I'd imagine we'd bring on Garnacho as an impact sub, or maybe McTominay and shift Bruno out to the right.

Think its a decent lineup tbh. I'm just glad we're not starting VDB and Ronaldo.

I’m good with Elanga starting under the present circumstances, but do we really know whether Garnacho is ineffective on the right?

What is the reasoning behind Elanga starting? Horrible. Might as well be playing a man down.
Garnacho is exclusively a LW, last time he tried Rashford on the right with Garnacho left, but it didn't work at all (not just for them, but Rashford who is our best player pretty much is ineffective on the right). So he's playing his best attackers in their best position, and then picking Elanga who can play RW and provide defensive cover for a LB playing at RB.

I‘m somewhat glad we put Garnacho on the bench. He seems like a nice little ace in the hole to bring on for impact, as opposed to starting and potentially getting snuffed out and frustrated, especially if you played him on RW.

Completely unproven there. Risk to start him out there with a LB out of position as well. Elanga at least you can trust his defensive work on the right a bit more, so it makes sense for me.

Be class if Eriksen can notch his first goal for us today. Also hope Elanga scores to drown out the moaning.

Elanga is one of the worst players I’ve ever seen in a Utd shirt so that’s disappointing, but I guess we don’t have much choice.

the bench is shite, apart from Garnacho. Let’s hope we can score goals without them. Martial being back is nice. Fulham are a good team, could be a long afternoon but I think we might sneak it 2-1.

True, bet if Garnacho is on the left and Rashford on the right, Caf would explode and scream at Erik, "why Rashford on the right"? Caf managers are never happy..

Reason Elanga is starting is to put our best and most impactful players in their best positions. Bruno has been moved back centrally and Rashford is back on the LW.

Remove Elanga from the equation, without Antony or Sancho you'd have to put either Bruno or Rashford there which hasn't really worked.

Garnacho likely can't play on the right and Rashford isn't getting shifted there to accommodate him on the left, that would be absurd.

It's simply a case of what body can we put on the right and unfortunately Elanga is the least horrible option out there. The positive of his selection is that it enabled Bruno and Rashford to be played in their optimal positions.

    Happy to see Martial start

Not sure how Elanga is getting a start over Garnacho though

We’d be better off playing Bruno on the right and sticking Fred or McTominay in midfield.

Fulham are no mugs and I expect this week will be like last.

Why are we moaning about Elanga?
He is a good player that presses high and puts a shift in
I would rather have him on the right than Bruno

I’m guessing Elanga is starting to give Malacia a bit of cover on the right. I think it’s a good choice.
