Huddersfield Town Association Football Club (nicknamed The Terriers) is a professional football club based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Huddersfield Town were founded in In 1908 at the Albert pub as Huddersfield and the Huddersfield Association Football Ground Co. was formed and, with capital of £500, set about purchasing the Leeds Road recreation fields. The stadium just started as a pitch but was still ready for their first game, which was a local semi-final. On 15 August 1908, Huddersfield Town Association Football Club was registered as a limited company with Fred Walker being appointed as the club's first manager.

In 1910, just three years after being founded, Huddersfield entered the Football League for the first time. In November 1919 a fund-raising campaign was needed to avoid a move to Leeds. Citizens of Huddersfield were asked to buy shares in the club for £1 each, and the club staved off the proposed merger. The team went on to reach the 1920 FA Cup Final and win promotion to Division One.

In 1926, Huddersfield became the first English team to win three successive league titles – a feat that only three other clubs (Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United) have been able to match. Huddersfield Town also won the FA Cup in 1922 and have been runners-up on four other occasions. During the club's heyday, on 27 February 1932 the club achieved a record attendance of 67,037 during their FA Cup 6th round tie against Arsenal at Leeds United. This attendance has been bettered by only 13 other clubs in the history of the Football League. After the Second World War, the club began a gradual decline, losing its First Division status in 1952. After two seasons in the top division in the early 1970s the club spent 45 years in the second, third and fourth tiers of English football before being promoted to the Premier League in 2017

Huddersfield Town's main rivals are Leeds United (although there is never a shortage of beef with neighbours, Bradford City). There are also smaller rivalries with Barnsley, Oldham Athletic and formerly with near neighbours Halifax Town. They play their home games at Kirklees Stadium - having moved there in 1994.

They've been poor since their impressive start, should be relatively comfortable but I can see it being difficult to get that first goal.

Agree. But still think Jose will go with Mkhi over Lingard.

Lingard due a start, Lukaku played 20 mins in 2 weeks before Liverpool so he's still fresh.
We could see Lindelof in a 3 after tonight, maybe push Martial inside and use Young for width.

Same as tonight. It will be a tough slog. Should pull through in the end though.

All away games are tough under Mourinho.

That bench looks pretty thin for attacking depth. Might have to put Mitchell on the subs bench instead of a defender.

If we keep a clean sheet we are the first team in the history of the league to keep 8 clean sheets in first 9 games.

    Dave
    Valencia Smalling Jones Young
    Herrera Matic
    Micky Mata Martial
    Lukaku

2-0 win Lukaku and Martial to score.

A must win this before Spurs and Chelsea game. Huddersfield have been poor these past few weeks.

Two games in and I'm already tired of that midfield. When is Fellaini back?

Please Mourinho, just go for it. Mkhi started off the season well but the past few games has been woeful and hasn't been creating much, definitely deserves dropping considering our best attacking players in every game have been either Martial, or Rashford. Just play them both.

Are you going for a record of injured players on the team?

Our unbalanced squad (lots of defenders, not enough midfielders and attackers) is starting to show. Our attacking bench in the next game will be depressing.

It is time for Mata, Mhiki, Rashford, and Martial to step up and provide us with some creativity, goals, dribbling, running in behind defenders etc. Our defence and defensive midfield are both very good and Lukaku seems a bit knackered but I expect a lot more from that quartet in our coming games, not least against Spurs and Chelsea.

I wish the manager trusted Lindelöf enough to play him instead of Smalling, since we might need his offensive contribution.

Will we ever play at Old Trafford again
Swansea away in the League Cup after the Huddersfield game then early kickoff against Spurs at home on the Saturday. Then Benfica followed by a 6 day break until Chelsea then international break (play-offs).

So few more away games :)

We could see a shift to 3-4-3 just because of the injuries, cause we have a lot, well, some ball playing defenders and attacking wingbacks.

That's a phenomenal stat. Whilst we might not be at our free flowing best in an attacking sense, the team must take a tremendous amount of confidence from that.

Well, it is not like we are half way through the season and have played poorly for the last two games. They started very well but the opposition wasn't the best. Hopefully they can recover their early season form before we meet Spurs and Chelsea. I would still claim that they are our weakest link but we are also missing Pogba of course which unbalances the team.

10 wins, 2 draws and over 30 goals in 12 games. Close second in the league and first in the CL group. Best defense in Europe and top 10 attack, numbers-wise.

    But we're still shit.

I have never said that we are shit and I am very happy with the start to our season. I said that the three players playing behind Lukaku need to step up their game in the coming games against Spurs and Chelsea. It is not our defence that needs to improve. City seem unstoppable and they are the benchmark. It will probably take a record number of points to win the league this season. If we are 3-4 points behind City after the next three games I would be more than happy.

I didn't even read your post mate. I wasn't talking about you specifically. It was more of a comment on the general mood around the place.

Dropping Lukaku for this game world be utter madness. These games are his bread and butter. He can rest for the Crapabao Cup tie against Swansea.
