Rashford was about the only player last night worth a toss.

Absolute nonsense post. Rashford has shown time and again he has the capacity to create and score. Unbelievable comment really

Lingard is a decent footballer, no more. Shouldn't be starting.

Oh dear well despite putting out a strong team we just did not turn up at the races. Cannot think of one player on our side that came out of the game with any real credit. Rashford looked the best of a bad bunch but then thats not saying much.

Its becoming evident that for whatever reason Smalling puts some sort of voodoo on our back 4 when he plays these days. Maybe its just coincidence but we do seem to go to pieces at the back when he is in the team. How different from last year. Perhaps the style of play just does not suit him.

Mind you for me the biggest culprits yesterday were our midfielders. I always thought midfielders were supposed to provide the link between defence and attack. If so then last night our chain was well and truly broken. To me Carrick and Herrera were noticeable by their absence.

Ah well I can at least console myself that irrespective of the result we are through to the final. Additionally all credit and praise to Hull. Given that Silva had to cobble a team together they played extremely well and I'm not going to be churlish to say it was only because we were so poor. Their second goal was worth the price of admission. Sweet passing and finishing that cut our midfield and defence to shreds. That goal would graced many a premiership match. Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say well done.
