Don't think I can ever want United to lose a match. And I hate Newcastle. I was harassed by sone of their fans when I went to visit my sister up there last year. Even then I want a United win.

People forget that our team of "kids" could very well be a first team of the future...and that they would still make up a solid unit capable of winning this game. These are guys hungry for game time and dying to provide themselves...

Even if LVG not gonna start loads of kids, those that going to on tour (they are all been told apparently) will probably be on the bench.

I would start half our kids and half our regular starters
    Gk: Valdes
    RB: Mcnair
    CB:Smalling
    CB: Blackett/Thorpe
    LB: Reece James
    CDM: Blind
    CM: Herrera
    CM: Di Maria
    LW: Jesse Lingard
    RW: Januzaj
    ST:Wilson
On the bench: Lindegaard, Jones, Valencia, Pearson, Rothwell,Young,Van Persie

If we have a comfortable lead, we take off Di Maria and put on Pearson. If everything is like Mk Dons, take off 3 of the kids and put in our regular starters.

When you throw in a bunch of young players that haven't all played together regularly they are unlikely to play well as a team and their individual performances suffer as well. I would handpick a few, like Wilson and Januzaj, and keep the core of the first team.

Would like to see di Maria, Januzaj, Wilson, McNair...and maybe I'm being too optimistic but it would be fantastic to see Pearson.

I'd like to see Van Gaal experiment and throw on some kids, but keep in a few big names to make sure the team is competitive. Something like the below will do nicely ;)

    GK - Blind
    LB - Amos
    CB - Mata
    CB - Van Persie
    RB - Falcao

    LM - Jones
    RM - Mcnair
    CM - Valdes

    LW - Lindegaard
    RW - Evans
    CF - Blackett

Mata in goal would be better.

United can beat Hull 4-0, even 5-0. Arsenal v. West Brom, well 0-2, it's extremely unlikely... Let's say stranger things have happened.

People always say stranger things have happened... But what's really more strange than this set of results if it happened? :)

Valdes, McNair, Pereira (if available), Di Maria, Januzaj, and Wilson should start in my opinion. Smalling to lead the pack again and as for the rest, probably some of the usual faces as to keep the game 'competitive' due to what is on the line for Newcastle/Hull. Not to say that picking these young lads / fringe players of late won't do that as they'll want to show what they can do, but you know the fans of other clubs and pundits will be at LvG's neck if he plays practically an U21 legal side.

    Valdes
    McNair Smalling(c) Jones Rojo
    Blind
    Herrera Pereira
    Januzaj Wilson Di Maria
    --
Lindegaard; Blackett, Valencia; Fellaini, Young, Mata; van Persie

If Pereira is still with the Brazil U21's, then Fellaini will probably start and Falcao will make the bench despite having no chance of making an appearance...

Honestly wouldn't mind if we lose if it keeps Hull up, but I do want to see a good performance from the lads as usual, especially the younger ones and the ones with question marks on their potential/future at Old Trafford (Januzaj/Di Maria who should both play the whole 90 minutes IMO).

If Newcastle are winning comfortably though, then it doesn't even matter. Part of me hopes they go down as I actually like Pardew, ridding of him was a huge mistake and the board deserve what they get if that's the case.[/CENTER]

We need to go all out attack and try and win by six goals. If we score the first couple, the Hull players will give up because they know they will be relegated. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see a Tony Pulis team beat Arsenal.

    --------------Valdes------------
    Valencia--Jones--Smalling--Young
    --------------Herrera-----------
    -----Di Maria---Mata-----Januzaj
    -------Van Persie--Falcao-------

I wish RedCafe's team selection system could give LVG some warnings too :D

I hope our manager and players are more interested in going all out to try and win big and get third than most supporters seem to be. I really believe that if we go 2-0 up they will collapse because they will start accepting relegation and we can score as many as we want. Maybe Newcastle will be winning also which will make Hull give up. It is very possible that Arsenal will lose against a Tony Pulis team and we have to at least try to take advantage.

United would need Arsenal to lose then beat Hull by 8+ goals to overturn their goal difference. United ain't getting 3rd.

Why 8 goals? A 1-0 win for West Brom and a 6-0 win for us at Hull will see us level on goal difference with Arsenal but we will have scored more goals so we will be above them.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if United even beat Hull considering their wonky away form. It would be typical Arsenal if they lost to WBA but two teams with nothing to play for. Can't see much effort being expended.
