    Hull City Association Football Club (nicknamed The Tigers) is a professional association football club based in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Hull City Association Football Club was founded on 28 June 1904. Due to the popularity of rugby league in Kingston upon Hull, previous attempts to found an association football club in the city had proved difficult. The club faced some initial disruptions after foundation, as they had been unable to apply for membership of the Football League for the 1904–05 season and instead played only in friendlies. In March 1906, a permanent home ground was opened for Hull City just across the road from the cricket ground, known as Anlaby Road.

    Hull's greatest achievement in cup competitions until 2014 was in 1930, when they reached the FA Cup semi-finals. The cup run saw Hull knock out the eventual champions of the Second and Third Divisions; Blackpool and Plymouth Argyle. They then knocked out Manchester City, and Newcastle United in the quarter-finals. After decades of turbulence, and languishing in lower leagues, Hull had a revival in fortunes at the start of the 21 st century - earning back to back promotions to the Championship in the mid 2000s, and subsequently to the Premier League in 2008. Hull's most prominent rivalries include Leeds United and Sheffield United. They play their home games at the KCOM Stadium, Kingston upon Hull.

    Let’s kick of the season with a win! I know the place is a bit depressed right now and rightly so because we all expect more signings to improve our chances in the league… but let’s get a win and hopefully some more signings will follow

    Based on their squad and transfer business it would be crazy to predict them to finish anywhere other than last. They might be the worst promoted side in PL history, certainly recent history, on paper at least.

    Reminds me of a game we had against Wigan ages ago (can't even remember the season) where everyone was so cocky about us winning the game and then we went on to lose it. It would be very us to somehow come out of this with a loss :lol:
     
    They’re going to be massively up for it and I don’t think we will be.

    I can’t see us winning. McBurnie is absolutely scoring for them.

    The same people would suddenly have us winning 3-1 if we went and signed some random left-back they’d never heard of in the next couple of days. It’s not particularly logical, but I get it - optimism has to come from somewhere when we aren’t playing competitive matches.
     
    I’m going for a 1-1. It’s always difficult on the first game if you get a promoted team. They’re up for it massively, and are a bit of an unknown.

    All I'd ask is for Carrick to select some youth in the back four to offset the lack of mobility in Maguire/Shaw.

    Want to see Heaven or Yoro in the starting line-up.
     
    I'm in no doubt about this, comfortable 2-0 win. We will be top after the 1st 3 games
     
    might be wrong but off the top of my head we won 1 nil last time out at Hull away with a scrappy Rashford goal

    Feels like the easiest opening day fixture we've had in years on paper. Will create a negative atmosphere right from the get go if we feck it up, so let's not do that.

    After seeing him in the second half v Newcastle at OT over Christmas last year I made up my mind I’d rather not see Zirkzee play another minute for United. He is not up to the pace of the PL and certainly not up to the physical game a team like Hull will bring.

    Yoro has been our best defender in pre season. Mazaroui has looked sharper than Dalot.
    Bruno isn't up to speed, Zirkzee playing off Mbeumo looked sharp against Leeds.

    Should be starting strong here. Heaven IMO had a bad pre season, while Cunha hasn't featured as much yet and I don't think is as far along as others. Dalot just fits better than Maz. The rest pick themselves.
     
    All about the first 20 minutes imo.

    If we survive the initial onslaught quieten down the crowd then I think it should be a comfortable win.

    I'm expecting this team to be the one starting on Saturday. Amad, Mbeumo and Dorgu where the front attack for most of the preseason so I think they will start. I think Cunha, Rashford, Maino and Martines are still not match fit and they will come on the second half as subs. I could also see Lacey coming as a sub on the second half

    Not really, I'm sure Dalot would do fine. I reckon Mazaroui is in better form than him though.

    I'm not going to argue about choosing our only senior left back to play left back.
