Remember the old days when they were better than us? They didn't beat us for 10 years.

We could be playing amazing and Liverpool bottom of the league, I'd still think they were favorites at Anfield. With the way we are so inconsistent this season and the fact I think we will see Fellaini and Rooney start I can only see a defeat.

We could go toe to toe with them with today's team bar Lingard but I think Jose will set us up to defend but we will fail. 1-3

If we don't play 4-3-3 we're going to get destroyed

Bloody hell, I thought you were red like us but all I can see is a ton of white being waved in this thread.
Liverpool v Utd is the one game of the season (more than the respective derby's) where the form book truly does go out the window.
We're 3 points above you in the table but it could be 33 points and I still wouldn't be able to choose a clear winner.
Neither team will get 'battered' as some have said and it'll be the usual 1 goal in it I'd imagine. If your players can't buck their ideas up for Liverpool away, you may as well give up completely.
I think Liverpool will win but it won't be by much and I'm certainly not giving up before a ball has been kicked

Liverpool press like crazy. We need players who can do it back. Yes I think we need three in midfield. 4-3-3, just not sure Fellaini can press and not sure a Carrick has the energy to do it either, but would love his passing in there. It is such a pity than Morgan has been frozen out.

    We will win 6-0.

Some of you are a disgrace.

We were good today and were better then Liverpool yesterday.
At home to the league's bottom side has no relation or equivalency to an entirely separate game of football.

They are shite defensivley, United will ruin them on the counter attack with the pace of Martial and Rashford.
Stoke have pretty much conceded more goals than anyone and are defensively far worse than Liverpool. Did Rashford and Martial ruin Stoke to any considerable degree?

    Thats redcafe for you. :)

I'll take a scrappy, ugly, dirty 1:0 win with Liverpool missing numerous chances. :)

I expect it to be a very exciting game. It's impossible to predict the winner, imo. Liverpool is in great form and Klopp has a good record against Mourinho. But the Dortmund team that ran circles around Mourinho's Real Madrid was world class. Way better than the current Liverpool team.

There's gonna be a lot of ugly tackles and yellow cards. Possibly a red card as well.

I agree and pace with frighten Liverpool at the back. I just think Jose won't be ballsy enough to go toe to toe with them.

Personally I would play same team as today but with Martial in for Lingard and just hope we put away our chances and possibly win a thrilling game or a high scoring draw but I just don't see it. Maybe drop Mata and play Herrera and Morgan behind Pogba but he seems out of favor and I wouldn't risk Carrick against the pace and pressing of Liverpool.

We will still lose. Some of our players are just picking up the wages while Klopp will push them to no limits.

Replace 'Liverpool' with 'Utd' and that's pretty much what I'd take too. We've not kept a clean sheet this season though so I'll take a scrappy, dirty 6-5 instead :)

I don't know if I would drop Mata, but I think we need Carrick for this one. Play Carrick, Herrera, Pogba in midfield and Mata out wide if anything. He's done well against Liverpool.

Great post tbh. It'll be close and current form usually matters in these matches. It's about keeping your emotions in check and focus.

Saying all that midfield 3 is an absolute must. With 2 mids, Pogba and Herrera plus Mata at nr. 10 they can slice us wide open.

If Mourinho goes with a 4231 against a Liverpool side full of running, then I really will question his tactical nous.

Stoke sat deep. Liverpool at home will not.
Are you suggesting that United will aggressively come on to Liverpool at Anfield to expose their defence as they tried to do at home today against Stoke?

I'm sure Klopp will be dreaming of such an approach.

We're going to get absolutely smashed. They're going to tear us a new one. This is going to be even more embarrassing than the Watford game. 4-0 to them, 4-1 if we're lucky.

That saying it nicely. We'll probably lose 8:0.

We shall see how good Joses ability to motivate really is in this game. If we want a result we must be fired up and on point form minute 1 through to 90 or we will be punished.

Players head must be dropping at this point, we were building momentum and then another setback. Players must be wondering what our goals are this season now. Our title chances are slimmer than ever. Jose needs to get them motivated to achieve something this season, if we don't win the title at least push the other teams all the way.

Liverpool are very poor at defending set pieces. We need to look at exploiting that

Would be happy for a Jose bus masterclass in this one because by God we will need it.

Could say the same for us. In fact they are more likely to batter us on the counter. Add the fact I think Rooney will be brought back in for this one to unfortunately.

They are crap defensively and fade after 35 minutes or so with their insane pressing. It's surviving the first half that is key IMO, we will need to have a proper 3 man midfield for this, which is harsh on Mata but necessary against this lot.
