Liverpool Football Club (nicknamed The Reds) are an English professional football club based in Liverpool, England. Liverpool were originally founded in 1892 as "Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd" (Everton Athletic for short), before finalizing on the name Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Ltd. after a dispute between the Everton FC board and John Houlding, the owner of Everton's former premise at Anfield Road.

Liverpool's forays into competitive football started when they joined the Lancashire League. After winning the league title in their first season, Liverpool were accepted into the Football League for the 1893-94 season, following the resignations of Accrington and Bootle. Liverpool reached its first FA Cup Final in 1914, losing 1–0 to Burnley. It won consecutive League championships in 1922 and 1923, but did not win another trophy until the 1946–47 season, when the club won the First Division for a fifth time under the control of ex-West Ham Utd centre half George Kay.

One of the most successful and storied clubs in the history of European football, Liverpool have won 20 English league titles, 6 European Cups, 8 FA Cups, and 10 League Cups, peaking in the 1970s and 1980s, first under the enigmatic Bill Shankly, and then his Boot Room successors Bob Pailsey, Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish. Liverpool have two fierce historic rivals: crosstown club Everton FC (matches between them are termed The Merseyside Derby) and Manchester United (stemming from the success of both teams as well as the cities' competition in the Industrial Revolution of the 19th century).

I've only just realised it's the international break. Really annoying as it would've been nice to carry some momentum.

Hopefully Liverpool don't recover their form, on paper they will beat us comfortably but you never know in these kind of games, sometimes we can raise our performance. Really hope this is the case.

They've been incredibly jammy to get the results they have so far this season, and they've lost their last couple. If Chelsea do something against them, they'll be starting to question themselves a little bit.

You just don’t understand the brilliance of Paisley the second…

Ruben’s obviously been waiting for a proper occasion to win two on the bounce. This one’s a formality.

Liverpool can be got at. But their midfield is so strong, will overwhelm us. We need to take any and all chances. I do feel mbuemo should be dropped though. Has been poor in the last few. Start cunha and mount as 10s

Hopefully we have less players on international duty than them. They are always a bit sluggish after the international break too.

Expect to lose this one but it would be good progress to put in a performance there and hold our own. No reason not too if we can hold our nerve. But we can’t play Dalot, he’ll have a nightmare.

They look very beatable. Should be a chance to build some positive momentum if there is anything to this manager and this side.

Doesn't matter how shit they look they're still favourites given their luck and quality. Expect to lose but I wouldn't be shocked if we can grab a win.

Not really holding my breath for it, but I hope we can at least give them a game like we did in our last 2 outings at Anfield instead of folding like a deck of cards like we did against City this season.

International breaks are so depressing. What am I expected to do next weekend, have a life?

Hope Amorim drills into the players that if the score is level close to the end, it'll be Liverpool who'll be far more nervous.

I'd take a last min wrong penalty call in our favour.
More chance of Harry Maguire running past their whole team like Messi vs Getafe than us getting a favourable pen call there.

Harry could've actually won us the last game there in the dying seconds.

Don't see that lot losing 4 on the bounce or us winning back to back games. 2-2 draw!

We played quite well at A field against them last season. Considering their form, it's probably a good time to play them. They have only won one game by more than a 1 goal margin and that was their first game of the season, which needed to very late goals.

We obviously haven't been very good and a good performance may well be another false dawn like it was last season but it's an opportunity for Amorim and the squad to gain some confidence and momentum.

Good as time as ever to play them. On the back side of an international break vs. a team in Liverpool that looks very shaky. I like our chances to get all 3 points.

Weirdly think this may be the game we could get two wins on the bounce.
Feel more confident than I did last week.
