We can't stop here. This is bat country.
We're at home where we've generally been pretty good.

Ozil and Sanchez the only thing we need to look out for. The rest are distinctly average.

Given Jose's dominance of Wenger I'd be surprised if we don't get a result.

    would like to see.....

    -----------------------------De Gea--------------------------------
    Valencia---------Smalling------------Jones-----------------Blind
    ------------------Herrera---Carrick--Pogba----------------------
    -----Mata--------------------------------------------Martial------
    ----------------------------Rashford------------------------------
This is exactly what I would want to see too. Except swap out one of Smalling/Jones for Blind and have Shaw at LB.

You think? Really? Why would we even care about Liverpool? Don't think there is one United fan who'd ever consider not winning, especially at this stage of the season, so that Arsenal could keep up with Liverpool at the top :houllier:
I meant in the grand scheme of things.

Would like to see this line up although I'm sure Rooney will play after yesterday. Will definitely need pace at fullback. Think Shaw should edge out Darmian if he grows his balls back.

    ---------De Gea
    Young Jones Smalling Shaw
    ---Herrera Carrick Pogba
    ---Mata Rashford Martial

Could easily go either way but I think it will be a score draw.

If Jose watched us against Arsenal last season he'l know not to start Darmien versus Sanchez again.

Not confident about this one at all. Arsenal look a good side to me. If we had a fully fit/available team, I think we'd win however.

So what's the story behind the OP and username? @Maradona10
I suggested/ Annoyed him enough to not make matchday threads he changed his name and started this.

Anyways, think we will play the way we played against Liverpool. I hope he goes for martial up top and not Rooney. Play Rooney ie if he has to play in a sikilar role like yesterday.
    My team would be
De gea, Darmian, Blind, smalling, blind, Carrick, herrera ,pogba, Rashford ,Martial? mata.
Front three interchange. Carrick will be the stability, Herrera the balance and Pogba freedom. High pressing from the front 3 and ask full backs to stay back. I would try the Tottenham approach against Arsenal with three at the back but i am not confident in our players that they can change so early tactically. I hope we dont concede in first 45, if we dont we win.

Surrounded by Gooners at work and none are confident, apparantly they think the performance vs Spurs was terrible, they said they didnt show up and should have been more clinical, I thought they did well.

Either way, currently our squad isnt good enough to over-turn an Arsenal side who by all accounts are flying. I think It will go a similar way to last year and well lose 3-1 with a token goal from Rooney.

It's an opportunity to see how good/bad we are without Ibrahimovic in the team.

Hope we go with something like this, not particularly arsed about who plays in defence though.

    de Gea
    Darmian Smalling Blind Shaw
    Carrick
    Mata Herrera Pogba Martial
    Rashford

Blind will do well to play at CB and LB ;)

I expect Ashley Young playing behind Rooney with Mata on one wing and Lingard on the other, us to lose, Rashford and Mkhitaryan to come off the bench with five minutes to go and be both blamed for not turning around a three goal deficit.

    DDG

    Darmian Smalling Rojo Shaw

    Herrera Carrick Pogba

    Mata Rashford Martial

This is what I'd like to see, but most likely we'all see Fellaini for Carrick and that cnut Lingard for Martial.

    Thanks Arsene.

Ozil given a rest ahead of United clash
Mesut Ozil has been left out of the Germany squad for the international break.

Low has omitted him from the squad after some comments by Wenger, ensuring he will be well rested when United meet Arsenal at Old Trafford in two weeks.

“I think it would be an intelligent decision and I would welcome it,” Wenger said.

“We have to wait until he [Joachim Low] gives the selection out to see if Mesut gets a rest or not.”

They haven't beaten us here in the league in over 10 years! Can see them doing us. They are due to.

I'm fearful JM will park the bus just so he can avoid losing. Mentality very much an issue.

Oh no. Every time I hear a record of "X team hasn't beaten United for X years", they beat us in the very next game.

It's possible Sanchez plays in the middle now though, in which case, it would be Iwobi I think?
But we don't have a choice, Valencia is not around so it's literally just Darmian or maybe TFM as a last resort.

It's best to have players like Carrick or Herrera help cover against Sanchez and Ozil.

TFM is more physically equipped to deal with Sanchez IMO. It would be a risk as he's still very raw but I think he would step up.

Barring injuries in the international break, you'll probably face a team of:

    Cech
    Bellerin
    Mustafi
    Koscielny
    Monreal
    Coquelin
    Cazorla presuming he's fit.
    Walcott
    Ozil
    Ramsey
    Alexis

We are the better team but we normally struggle against the José bus. An early goal for us and it should be a relatively easy day at the office... if it's a draw at half time I think it'll only go one way from there (and it's not good for us).
Arsenal is always a "better" team on paper but I think it's a team that can lose it mentally quite easily. A bit different than City or Chelsea who seem to be better equipped for the mental challenge. I have the feeling Liverpool is close to Arsenal too.

Nevertheless, if United doesn't get a goal against in the first 15mn, it should be able to sneak in one and impose a physical battle. That's the game I see, unless, unless Rashford and Martial as well as Pogba make a game like last year.

Last year was the year they were due to. They were in good form, and we fielded a ridiculous line up.
    And still won!

Their win in the cup will have to do them.

The RB situation is exactly why Varela shouldn't have gone on loan.

I want to see Rashford tear them apart like last time.

    DDG
    Honestly don't have a clue
    Carrick
    Herrera-Pogba
    Mata-Rashford-Martial

    In reality:

    DDG
    Still don't have a clue
    Carrick
    Herrera-Pogba
    Mata
    Rashers-Martial
Martial and Mata to come out onto the wingers when defending, when attacking, let Martial and Rashford stretch their defence, while Mata and Pogba pick pockets in their defence and feed the strikers.

    Won't happen though.
