    My ideal line up would be (presuming we're playing the usual formation and we have injuries back;

    DDG

    CBJ
    Smalling
    Rojo
    Varela

    Schneiderlin
    Herrera

    Lingard
    Mata
    Memphis

    Martial

If Arsenal have genuine ambitions of winning the league, they have to be winning this.
With he injuries we have, I can only see one result.

As uplifting as last night was, with no fit first-team defenders we really don't stand a chance. It's a shame cause we're starting to build a positive rhythm (again) and this is going to put a stop to that right away.

Going to hold off posting a prediction till there's been some injury updates.

What's the injury status now? It's so depressing that I don't even keep up with the updates...

I will be stunned if we get something out of this match. Unfortunately due to the injuries I think Arsenal will win this one, 1-3.

    Any news on Smalling?

I'm bizarrely confident for this one. A team as depleted as ours should be easy fodder for a team like Arsenal. But these are exactly the kind of games that Arsenal have messed up over the years. I can see us doing a number on them.

I cant see Martial being risked so soon, hopefully De Gea, Smalling and BWJ are back otherwise we'll be shagged. I'd also like to see Januzaj get a chance on the right but I'm sure Lingard will keep his place.

    --------De Gea
    Varela Smalling Blind BoJack
    ---Schneiderlin Herrera
    -Lingard---Mata----Depay
    --------Rashford

Would take a draw right now.

We're going to get battered aren't we?

Usually LVG performs better against the top 6 sides but our squad is wafer thin.

Will have to wait for more confirmation on who's fit.. But I believe de Gea, Smalling, and Januzaj should be returning to improve the match day squad a bit. I'd say maybe Martial has a chance of being on the bench depending on how tight his hamstring was. No idea if CBJ is going to be back.

    de Gea
    Varela Smalling Blind Riley
    Carrick Schneiderlin
    Lingard Mata Memphis
    Rashford
    ---
Romero; Rojo, McNair, Poole; Herrera, Pereira; Januzaj

If Martial can be on the bench, then he'd replace Poole. I'd also like to see Herrera start, but I'd imagine it'd have to be Mata on the right and Herrera in the middle if so.

We'll be ok with a back five of De Gea, Rojo, Smalling, Blind and Varela and if Martial is fit, I'd fancy us to win the game against the ultimate bottlers.

It's strange that despite our recent form and general shitness, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if we beat Arsenal, then knocked out Liverpool over the two legs. But that probably says more about Arsenal and Liverpool than us. I also wouldn't be shocked if we lost them all 3-0.

I'd prefer to see Herrera in at AM with Mata dropping to the bench for this one. Herrera's work rate will help out in midfield.

    De Gea
    Varela Smalling Blind Riley
    Morgan Carrick
    Lingard Herrera Memphis
    Rashford

Romero, McNair, Rojo, Poole, Mata, Januzaj, Pereira

    When is Lvg press conference?

    Preferred line up:

    ------------------De Gea---------------------
    Varela---Smalling-----Rojo--------Blind---
    ----------Schneiderlin--Carrick-------------
    Herrera--------- Mata------------Memphis---
    ------------------Martial---------------------------

    Hopefully ...

feck it, we are at home Martial coming onto his left or down the right against Monreal, really try and trouble him along with Varela. Riley keeps his place, pacey, Walcott is probably gonna start there so we need to try and match him in that area.

Keep Rashford up top, coming off two goals to help us through while behing in Europe, he's gonna be flying high and Memphis is obvious to stay in.

Lingard could do with a rest so start with this. Get some goals.

I really like this, Rojo for Smalling if he's still out.

Martial on the right isn't ideal but he's more likely to get joy against Monreal than Bellerin in a one on one.

Without De Gea we have almost no chance of keeping them out. Romero is capable of the spectacular but often makes a hash of the routine stuff and against Arsenal the keeper is likely to be busy.

He won't throw Januzaj into a game like this. He has hardly played him, nevermind starting him against Arsenal. I would rather start Pereira, if Lingard doesn't start.

Those gooners on Arsenal Mania all seem so convinced they will beat us easily. Christ, their fans are so sickening unbearable.

yeah, it's a bit foolish on my part. but since pereira never starts against even the lowest of non-conference teams, there's no chance he starts on sunday either.

Big games don't get much easier than United at the moment, in fairness. But that's not to say I am confident.. mostly because Arsenal never make anything easy.

With Oxlade Chamberlain out, might they start Welbeck or Walcott?

Either way, good replacements with pace. Interesting game. I'm inclined to call it a draw after the good result for Utd against the Danes.

Having said that, can Utd defend properly against the attacking strength of Arsenal?

    Who knows.....

I just can't see anything besides a comfortable Arsenal win unfortunately. It is going to be a difficult game for our defenders.

    1-3 Arsenal.

Our only hope is overconfidence on their part. But if they can manage to concentrate on the task before them, they should tear us apart on Sunday.
