They will go for this competition so expect a strong side from them. We will give some fringe players a chance.

Would be nice to see donny, amad get a chance.

We should be going for this competition!

This club needs to be winning trophies and we're in no position in any other competition to be disregarding the FA Cup.

Only chance of a trophy and by chance I mean barely feck all. I don’t think the team will change much, Rangnick is under pressure already but I expect Maguire and Rashford will be back stinking up the place. One certainty is Donny won’t be playing.

The team we played tonight don’t win the FA cup, which is my point. Sancho, terrible. Rashford, terrible. Mctom, terrible. Pretty much all of them, crap.

Also top 4 is way more important than a FA cup.
playing some random team in Russia on a Thursday night is not a option. Literally worst case scenario, while Spurs have conte and compete in the top competition next season.

ergh, what a horrible position we’re in as a fan base. :( Even the fact we’re talking about this.

I've never been more certain that United will lose a game of football than I am about this game of football.

I've nearly 40 years as a United fan unde my belt and I'm more deflated about the team than I've ever been. I just don't see anything to give me any hope it will get better. I don't think transfers will make much of a difference, neither will a new manager.

Please don't play Greenwood on the right and Sancho on the left. Swap them round and deliver some fecking crosses into the box. And please someone work out how to switch play between flanks occasionally. Always tippy tappy short stuff interspersed with a hoof from deep from Bruno or Maguire. Very predictable.

I used to look forward to Utd games not any more.... really dislike this bunch of players. Some of them need to be dropped out completely after their performance in front of our home fans last night, others like sancho ronaldo and Cavani only on bench because we have no other options.

Seriously cannot see us getting any sort of result. Just wish the entire season was over to be honest.

Play all the kids, see if they can be bothered to press for the manager. If they do then play them in the league as well and drop the lazy cnuts.

Gerrard will be relishing this match. He’ll be telling his players before kick off how shite we are and there’s nothing to be afraid of and he’ll be correct. Not looking for to this at all.

We have to play the best team possible. I am already tiered of seeing weird tactical decisions from Rangnick. For example playing Telles and Dalot instead of Bissaka and Shaw. And Cavani instead of Rashford.

    ....................De Gea............

    Bissaka.Varane.Lindelöf.Telles

    ...............Fred....Donny...............
    .........Bruno...............Greenwood
    ..............Rashford.Ronaldo...........

I must admit that I do not think we have the players for the 4-2-2-2 formation. I think we lack centrale midfielders, who are good enough for this formation.

Bizarre for so many people thinking we should write this off.
We should go all out for it as it's the only thing we have even the remotest hope of winning.

A whole week of training, a whole week of other players potentially contracting Covid, maybe a new signing? This line-up could be anything, I'm strangely looking forward to this, with a whole week, here's praying we start to see a little impact on the playing style, and the odd improvement? :nervous:

    Let the discussion begin...
I couldn't give an absolute feck, if they won't put it the minimum effort they can go to hell. Look at Derby and the squad we have, they should be bloody embarrassed, club seriously needs to start docking wages for every single one of them that won't do the bloody basics then watch them all of a sudden turn it up. In normal jobs if we gave such a shit show of a job majority of the time we would be sacked and the same should be for football especially the money they are on.

Just try and put in the players that can hold on to the ball and help out the midfield

If that happens then we have to wonder what the heck is Rangrick doing, he's got nearly a week of training these players, he got the sports psychologist in place that he wanted, he's got other backroom staff he brought in to help, if we lose both matches then questions need to be asked.

At this point in time sacking Ole seems to have been a total waste of time, I'm not seeing anything different under Rangrick.

I'm astonished that people have Rashford in a starting line up. Astonished.

He's been so so bad for such a long time now he needs a break from the squad never mind the first 11. If he plays I can't watch. I can't take him strolling about ruining every attack and doing fuxk all when we are not in possession.

Fred holding midfielder is a disaster waiting to happen.
Any United player given the role of a holding midfielder is a disaster waiting to happen. The priority signing this summer was sorting out that glaring weakness yet it wasn't done and the January transfer window will likely come and go without that signing also.

It's how we're run in a nutshell. The only task at hand was to buy a DM and we managed to spend 150million on 3 players without signing one.

Yeah because Rashford is the only one playing really badly isn't he?. Did you not see the first 75 mins yesterday? Were we any better without him?

Is Sancho playing any better than Rashford? Nope. However he's a shiny new toy so fans are being fickle.

Leave out Rashy by all means. Won't change much though.

I hope to see some new faces and a different system leading to more control of the ball. The 4 up front is never going to work with this crop of players so a new system is needed... some way to get more midfielders in and less attackers.

Regardless of the result we must play a high pressing game like the first half of Crystal palace game. The fans need a lift and some high quality teamwork is quick way to win the fans back.

My first thought is just pick the players that look like they give a damn, but then you end up with McFred. Oh well.

Lindelof earned his start over Maguire and I'd love to see Jones at RB.

We're too shit atm to make proper use of Ronaldo. He'd be fecking glorious for a real dominant side like Ajax.

Doesn't matter who plays. It's a question of mentality and too many of these players are not good enough in that department to play for the biggest club in the World. Mentally fragile and can't handle the pressure of playing for Manchester United week in-week out hence the inconsistency. So even if they beat Aston Villa you know the week after they'll probably lose to them. Hard to get excited anymore about Manchester United.

Lazy players like Rashford, Sancho and Greenwood who should be running all game at their ages won't track back.

getting 2nd last season was a fluke. Playing without the pressure of fans was easier for this group of bottlers. They can't handle pressure. And crumble.

every game Manchester United lose the midfield battle, that's why we can't dominate and control the game. So you either buy better midfielders or play different midfielders that you have like Donny to try to get control of that midfield. Everyone who knows football says games are won and lost in midfield. Look at Liverpool, they have a very workmanlike 3 in midfield but they control the game, don't lose the ball and are unselfish. Why can't United play 4-3-3 to try to flood the midfield to get control of games?!

too selfish, individualistic making wrong decisions everyone wanting to be the hero and take the glory. Where as at City, Chelsea etc all make the right decisions in the final third. Look at Sancho and Cavani the other night against Newcastle.. there was goals if they made the right pass at the right moment. Against Wolves we knew we wouldn't have many chances.. so golden opportunities like the ones Sancho and Cavani had to pass to players in better positions to score inside the box was ones we needed to score and ones the likes of City and Liverpool would. Even Arsenal and Tottenham would have.

no point playing Ronaldo if you are not going to cross the fecking ball or pass to the best goal-scorer and header of a football the game has ever seen. Might as well play a cardboard cut out as that's what it is like playing striker for Manchester United in the graveyard shift with no chances or service. You have to play to Ronaldo's strengths.. playing overhit passes for him to chase and turn a bad pass into a good one isn't one of them anymore (might be Rashfords who's only quality is his raw pace)

Ronaldo will Leave at the end of the season with no top 4. And I can't say I blame him we are wasting his last years. Like someone mentioned in a team like Ajax who dominates he'd be a beast. Manchester United can't even dominate the likes of relegation Norwich, Newcastle and Burnley so what chance do we have.. that's the sad reality..

so glad I cancelled my Sky subscription.. (yes I know this game is on BBC) I was paying over £100 a month to watch this rubbish. No thanks. I'll stick to the highlights (or lowlights) on BBC Match of the Day with Gary and the lads for Free-to-Air thanks! I value my mental health too much to put myself through the torture of watching Manchester United games live and paying over £100 a month to do so.

I think we will lose this. Seems like the squad has downed tools already (Yet again).

    ---------------------------------------------------Henderson---------------------------------------------------------
    Dalot--------------------------------Bailly--------------------------Varane--------------------------Shaw
    ----------------------------------------------Fred---------------------Mctom---------------------------------------------
    ------------------------------Bruno--------------------------------------------------Elanga----------------------------------
    --------------------------------------Greenwood---------------------Ronaldo-----------------------------------

We will call it a 4-2-2-2 but it's 4-4-2 really.............. Which doesn't work in the modern game when everybody plays 3 in the middle and the likes of City don't even play a striker.

I think Shaw and Mctom will play as they are suspended from the next prem game.
