Association Football Club Bournemouth (nicknamed The Cherries and Boscombe) is a professional football club based in Bournemouth, Dorset. The exact date of the club's foundation is not known, but there is proof that it was formed as Bascombe FC in the autumn of 1899 out of the remains of the older Boscombe St. John's Lads’ Institute FC. Nicknamed The Cherries (Dean Court was built adjacent to the Cooper-Dean estate, which encompassed numerous cherry orchards), the team traditionally played in red shirts with white sleeves until 1971, when the strip was changed to red and black stripes, similar to that of AC Milan. The club was renamed in 1923 to Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic F.C. in 1923, which was the name until 1972, when it becomes A.F.C. Bournemouth.

Bournemouth have won the second and third tiers of English football, and were twice runners-up of the fourth tier. They have also won the Football League Trophy, and the Football League Third Division South Cup. Bournemouth have spent the majority of their history bouncing between the third and fourth tier of English football. Under manager Eddie Howe, they have risen through the pyramid; the 2015–16 season was Bournemouth's first ever in England's top division. Bournemouth's biggest rivals are Brighton & Hove Albion, Reading FC and Southampton FC. They play their home games at Dean Court, Bournemouth — currently known as the Vitality Stadium.

I think we'll go back to the lineup against Cardiff - with the possible exception of resting Matic. Lukaku might make an appearance as I think it was said he was missing two games as part of his compassionate leave and Huddersfield was the second one.

    Young Lindelof Jones Shaw
    Matic
    Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Martial

Think Ole will want consistency at the back and that looks like his clear back 4 of preference right now. Could see Herrera holding and maybe Pereira/Fred starting further forward but I reckon it'll be this. Lukaku maybe on the bench to get subbed on... But great to have Martial back. Those 3 definitely looking like our main 3 so Sanchez and Lukaku have a ton of work to get a bigger role, but that competition for places can only help tbf.

    DDG

    Young Lindelof Jones Shaw

    Herrera Pereira/Matic Pogba

    Sanchez/Lingard Rashford/Lukaku Martial

Fairly confident of 8 out of the 11, let’s see what happens with the other three.

They lost 5-0 to Spurs today.

    We should absolutely hammer them.

    De Gea
    Young - Jones - Lindelof - Shaw
    Herrera - Matic - Pogba
    Lingard - Rashford - Martial

If Sanchez is back he should take Lingard spot but I really doubt it.

Bournemouth in recent times given Man. United very tough games home and away but looks like a good time to be playing them.

    2-0.

I dreaded the festive fixtures with Jose, expected us to drop many points. Feels strange seeing us dominate and play so freely against smaller sides, I'm so used to us parking the bus at 1-0 and hoping we can scrap it out for the points. Hope we batter them

Same again but Martial replacing Fred

Though I can see why we'd take Dalot out

Huge advantage for us that Bournemouth played close to their strongest side today - surely they need to rest a few players against us. Francis was carried off so he should be out as well.

Home-advantage, no injuries, OGS and a much fresher squad since we can rotate a lot more ….

No excuse not to win this one….

Need to swap 3-4 players again….Rashford should rest, Young in for Dalot, Perreira in for Fred, Lingard rest and Sanchez in....

Remember we have Newcastle not many days afterwards….good if we have a lot of fresh players then

Pogba, Martial, Rashford, Alexis front 4 has the potential to be frightening. Hopefully they all start.

Rashford is honestly the last player I would want to rest

Hope we start with the same team as Cardiff, only Pereira in midfield and Herrera instead of Matic (rest). Bailly deserves a game too

Surprised no one is dropping Lingard here. He was non existent today, and given the nature of his game he is most probably tired. Needs to have a rest here.

The team looked tired towards the end. Expect a few changes again

    Fellaini - Matic
    Martial - Lingard
    Young - Dalot
    Herrera - Fred

    Maybe Lukaku - Rashford also

Sanchez and Perreira will probably get minutes off the bench

I expect Sanchez to be eased in after his injury, and Lukaku to go back into the team:

    DDG

    Young Lindelof Jones Shaw

    Herrera Matic Pogba

    Rashford Lukaku Martial

Sanchez to come on for Lukaku at around the 60 minute mark.

    --------------------DDG--------------------------
    Young------Jones-------Lindelöf-----------Shaw
    --------------------Matic-------------------------
    ------------Herrera--------Pogba---------------
    Lingard-----------Rashford-------------Martial

SUBS - Lukaku (Lingard), Pereira (Herrera), Sanchez (Rashford).

Going for a goal fest, again. But not a one-sided goalfest. Bournemouth to cause us plenty of problems, and to score a couple.....

    Man United 4 - 2 Bournemouth
    Rashford
    Pogba (penalty)
(They score, to claw one back just after half-time)
    Martial x 2
    (Another goal for them).

Yeah Lingard shouldn't be in the starting line up either for resting reason(he completed both games) or just dropped(poor game).

With Lukaku and Sanchez back in contention for Sunday game, I can only see Rashford out of the front 3 who started today to start against Bournemouth on Sunday.

    Front three should be

    Martial------ Rashford------ Sanchez
I want to see Lukaku start so we can see if he plays any better now or if he will still serve up the same crap performances. If the latter then we need to get rid asap and plan for the next season without him. We can't afford having a £75m striker playing worse than Jozy Altidore.

I would like to see the same GK, defense and midfield that played against Cardiff with front 3 of Martial left, Lukaku right and Sanchez central. I want Lukaku to attack from the right flank like Martial attacks from the left flank and have Sanchez be the link between midfield and attack.

More of the same please. Got pummelled today by trying to play football against Spurs. Expecting a very different game against us, they won't want a repeat scoreline.

Howe will probably try and adopt an unusually defensive approach after their hammering today and noticing our upturn in form. A couple of early goals for Martial and Pogba will sort that right out.

Surely you can't expect Sanchez to go straight in after weeks out injured. Bench at best surely.

Hope he can use this sudden move to freer football to start properly for us

Ole mentioned post game how he was saying to the staff during the game "just wait next week when we'll have Martial and Sanchez back and Lukaku to put on to really finish them off". Probably reading too much into the wording, but could see Martial and Sanchez start and eyeing Lukaku for a sub appearance only. Would like to see that anyway.

Ahhhhhh , so fun to think about lineups these days..... I'm really excited to see how Sanchez plays under Ole, but probably just a sub this game. i'd give Dalot 60 minutes again at OT then bring on Young later if we need experience. I hope for:

    -----------------DDG---------------
    Dalot------Lindelof----Jones----Shaw
    -------------Herrera----------
    ------Fred-----------------Pogba
    ----Lingard----Rashford-----Martial

Subs: Sanchez for Lingard, Pereira for Fred, Gomes late for Rashford

I think he will start Lukaku which will lessen the fluidity in our attack.

Anwyay be great to have Martial back.

Ole said Sanchez is touch and go for Bournemouth, but will definitely be back for Newcastle, so there's no way he'll be starting the Bournemouth game.

    Mata--Rashford--Martial

Lukaku off the bench and Alexis if he's fit enough.

You know what, I would not use Lukaku in the center. For the sake of it, I would push him on the right, keep Rashford in the center and ask them to interchange... Lukaku can use his speed instead of his first touch to try to combine and score. It might work.
