Hopefully we hammer them 8-0 and Leicester & Chelsea lose their next match...then we go into 3rd. :smirk:

How is it true though? You say he is a FAR better player.. He's not. As I said Shaw has been a huge part of why our defence has looked so good recently and the only player to play the whole unbeaten run.
Because he is. He gets forward better and is more of a threat, and defensively though not yet as cute as Shaw he's got a far better understanding of the position.

Lindelof and Maguire have also played a massive part in the improvement as well, but most on the forum think we need an urgent upgrade on Lindelof, and Maguire doesn't get anywhere near the credit he deserves, yet you dare criticise Luke Shaw ....

We should start with full strength on every game. Only sub if players are gassed out or we are in a comfortable lead

Another must win game. We can't let our foot off the gas pedal. Pound them by half time, once we're up 3 or 4, substitute Pogba, Bruno, Mcguire, Shaw and Rashford.

We drop points and all the good work this week will be for nothing.

Too many people are getting ahead of themselves now that Chelsea lost to West Ham and Leicester dropped points against Everton.

United have to continue to prove to themselves before they can prove to anyone else that they are turning a corner. Especially how the run in was last year where they fell flat on their arse.

Need to be resilient and continue to play their game against Bournemouth if they become a bit plucky and not the side that just got destroyed against Newcastle. The crisp, sharp, and purposeful play from kickoff against Brighton is what is needed again against Bournemouth.

Should be the same starting XI for the 3rd consecutive league game.

The squad had the fitness levels of the Dog and Duck reserve side this part of the season last year thanks to Jose and his rouge fitness coach, something we don't have to worry about now. We are probably along with Liverpool the fittest squad in the Premier League now thanks to the work put in during pre-season.

Forget the goal-difference, winning the game is more than enough to put pressure on both Leicester and Chelsea. Leicester has 3 potential loss or drop points incoming (Arsenal, Spurs, United), while Chelsea has 2 (Liverpool and Wolves). Even if we only won 1-0 or 2-0 every game, they can't catch us in the table.

Why do people keep saying Williams for Shaw while the latter has been playing well and he's part of our current winning starting 11?

Don't you guys see that Ole trusts Shaw and rightly so.
It's not like when you rest a player you are not trusting him. I'll put Williams in this match just for the sake of rotation and obviously giving more minutes to a young player is always good. Also, he has shown hes a good fit for the position so is not like your making something ridiculous

After last nights game, I don't see any reason to change it.

    De Gea
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    Pogba Matic Bruno
    Greenwood Martial Rashford
Just keep doing what we are doing. Bournemouth are better than hat they have shown but they are low on confidence and if we can get in front early, their heads will drop and should claim another win.
Are they really ? I watched them against Newcastle with a few defenders injured, Wilson suspended and Brooks looking rusty.

They have Solanke up front - enough said. 9 goals in 93 games.
They have Lerma and Billing in central midfield. Lerma has scored about 10 goals in 200 matches, Billing 10 in 120. Brooks has 10 goals in 70 matches. Danjuma has 5 goals in 35 for Bournemouth and Club Brugge and Josh King has 4 goals in 20 matches this season

Where are the goals gonna come from ?

I'm sure Bournemouth eyed the Newcastle game as close to a must-win for them, but they got thumped 1-4 by a team that isn't renowned for scoring too many. Regardless of if Bournemouth come here to park the bus, we should be putting them to the sword. I think this game and the Villa game are the two where we are most likely to be able to add another +6 goals or so combined.

Hopefully Leicester doesn't sort themselves out soon, but I think we should at least beat Bournemouth & Villa comfortably at the moment while Leicester is unlikely to beat both Palace and Arsenal in the same time frame. A good chance we're as little as a point behind or level with Leicester in a week.

Just go with the same XI, Shaw & Bruno can be the first two brought off if we are a few goals to the good after an hour or so again. The Brighton game was on Tuesday and this game is Saturday, they got brought off early in preparation for this I'm sure. I don't expect much rotation in the Premier League fixtures until maybe the Palace & West Ham games (assuming they happen either side of the FA Cup game against Chelsea).

Also, looking at other posts I definitely think people are looking at Bournemouth from a while ago and not Bournemouth now. It does seem uncharacteristic as we're using to them having good attacking players, going for games and either winning big or losing big. However, this season they have score only 30 goals in 32 games! That is shocking for them. There are quite a few teams that struggle for goals like that in the Premier League this season, but the difference is those teams can usually defend. Bournemouth has conceded 54! We should batter them. It could get ugly for Bournemouth as they play Spurs, Leicester, Man City, Southampton & Everton after us. They're going down.

Doesn't always work like that but I'll be surprised if we don't beat them down into at least a 2-0.

Play the best team possible and make changes like we did at Brighton. So many fans calling for 4 or 5 goals win have a short memory, it was only last week we drew 1-1 against Norwich after 90 minutes. Took us extra time to get through that game.

Yeah, no. Shaw is a far better player than Williams currently. Maybe Williams should play for rotation's sake but that's it.

    First real test for ole.

The line up pretty much picks itself. Let's hope that the rest afforded to bruno, Martial and pogba against Brighton will come in handy.

Not really both Spurs and Sheffield United are better teams than Bournemouth

We need to start fast and blow them away. They're going to be low on confidence and looking to hit us on the counter.

If we can score early like we've done in the last few games this could be a cricket score.

Our subs are largely underwhelming. Full strength please.

Let starters do the job and sub them all up as soon as we're content with the scoreline.

Might be worth keeping an eye on Ake in this. With Bournemouth all but down I'd say, he may be gettable at a cut rate. Seeing as our CBs tend to drop like flies, and we're in need of shipping out the likes of Jones, Rojo and Smalling, could he be a shrewd signing this summer?

    Are you Paul Parker?

How has he been this season? I haven't watched him this season aside from the United games, he was among the impressive ones when playing against us.

Not expecting us to batter them even considering form. Bournemouth isn't going to accept relegation and just bend over.

An early goal here would be ideal, if it goes 0-0 at half time I would be worried.

If we win all our remaining games we are guaranteed 4th spot minimum so it is a no brainer we start with our best side and if a player is not performing then he is subbed or we wrap up the game early we rest players,
    Simple as that.

Why are people saying this is the first real test for Ole? Bournemouth have been terrible, should be an easy win..
