The coach and the players screw up most weeks tbf another gone game with no win that’s 2 points in 9 from the last 3 home games!

, Do we really want to continue with this coach, you drop 7 points at home against Everton, West Ham and Bournemouth, I think serious questions must be asked about the coach, let’s face it lads Ruben is just Not Very Good!
    He needs to go.

We had enough chances to win three games. But can't defend. And as for Amorim's late shit subs... what is he on???!!

Despite playing brilliantly for large chunks of that game, our biggest problems are still there.
A flimsy, weak CM and we don’t score near enough goals, no matter how many chances we get.
Nobody wins the league or even gets into the top 4, with a weak midfield…ever!

Not exactly sure as well how it's his fault our attackers can't score more often when they had 17 chances just in the first half

The defending is questionable however. One attack through and we shit the bed. Lammens saved us at the end but my concerns about him remain valid. Unless it is basically where he is standing, he is basically never saving shots

We've had nearly 60 games. Yes it's fault

    Or a shite defence.

The tactics are what they are, utterly ridiculous, but the context is that Amorim had to field Heaven and he's just not ready for PL action. With the exception of the free kick, Heaven appeared to be primarily responsible for all three of the other goals. This is going to happen with young CBs.

Come May we'll look back and these 7 dropped points at home will cost us Champions League football

Outside of the fk a bit he really isn’t responsible for any
While that was maybe the only mistake, until my comment he hadn’t made any good intervenences either. He had a couple in the 2nd part of 2nd half, so not putting this on him at this point for sure.

Yeah, i never saw conclusive images…

I did. He got a very mild touch on his leg. He takes two steps before he realises he's been touched and then starts to go down on the third step.

In real-time I was sure the ref would waive it off as there was so much time between the suppose foul and him hitting the deck. I couldn't believe he gave the free let alone a yellow card. The tubby bastard was too far behind the play to realise.

Heaven's positioning is horrenous. He is youg so maybe he can improve this but we miss De Ligt and Maguire a lot.

It's not the game to be annoyed - Mazraoui, De Ligt and Maguire all missing and Martinez not fit to start.

Most teams have one CB out and it's the end of the world. We're regularly missing 3 or 4

Heaven and Yoro with Shaw always likely to be problematic

I agree. The formation was set up well and we should have been out of sight in this game like with Fulham etc.

But the optics of losing the half time record if it goes would be sackable for me. I think that would be the time to go.
No chance. Two young defenders getting it wrong at times..MDL or Harry in there tonight get 3 pts.

    Or a shite defence.

The most important defensive work should come from Central Midfield.
Shite defensive work in midfield frequently leads to defenders getting put under undue pressure, or being caught out of position trying to cover the holes left by the CM.
Nearly every game where our defence has fallen apart, it was due to the mess in front of them.

To be fair though, he could have chosen from the start to mitigate that. He could have gone Yoro, Licha and Shaw or played Case and Kobbie or Ugarte to provide cover for the two young defenders

Mbeumo's nonchalantly cost us tonight big time. Playing like a weekday 6v6.

Also, not saying the goals were his fault alone, but the first 3 Bourne goals came from Shaw losing the ball. First a bad control, then a slow long ball to no one and finally a bad long throw to a marked team mate.

Martinez's composure and decision making in those situations might have saved us the trouble. Hopefully he is fully fit soon enough.

Because we have way more fecking losses than wins in a year, this is not viewed in isolation, ffs
You can also simultaneously highlight a clear improvement from today whilst also criticising their ability to see a game out, it's not one or the other.

Yep. It's an incredible record. Doesn't mean anyone is happy with the result.

But it's completely arbitrary. We haven't lost at home when we've been ahead at half time.

Ok what % of games have we won at home in the last 3 years? We're a continuing shambles and I don't see how clinging to records like that helps at all.

We're capable of conceding 3 and 4 with the players you mentioned. It's happened many times before.

Watching the replay now. Foul, if there was one (still not too sure about that), was actually in more or less the right place. Still probably need education on rules about attacking players placed close to the wall.

If Deligt or Maguire was playing at CB, that would have been a comfortable win.

    He needs to go.
Fans will defend him but if we keep
Him we will end up 7th to 12th with 55-64 points!

If the club do back him then they need to buy him an elite CB and Elite CM/DM in January and with those two additional players the team even in Spite of Amorim’s lack of elite coaching ability, the squad would be good enough to get top 5/6.

However fans also need to understand he’s happy to let Yoro and Heaven start next to shaw in one of the worst back 3’s available to the club. We need Maguire and MDL back asap to stop the goals from being conceded, we are far too easy to counter and score against with Bruno and Casemiro in front of that back three, this team is shockingly bad defensively!

My problem with it was that if you take three steps after the contact was made and then randomly fall over it's just not a free kick.

It wasn't as if he was tripped and stumbled and went down trying to stay up. He just decided to hit the deck when he could have kept running.

This is not sustainable. Coach is utterly rubbish.
And many will disagree but I’ve been saying this for ages now, he’s taken 2 points from Everton, West Ham and Bournemouth at old Trafford this season with Villa and Newcastle both to play, I genuinely believe We will be lucky to get 4 points from our next 4 PL games, I said I wouldn’t be surprised if we might get 7 to 8 Points from Everton, Palace, West Ham, Wolves and Bournemouth which is 1.4 to 1.5 points per game which seems to be what we’re averaging and low behold we got 8 points from our last 5 PL games with only 2 at home.

Ruben is rapidly running out of time and I genuinely believe the Glazers are already putting huge pressure on SJR and INEOS saying we were never this bad in the previous seasons where their worst position was 8th once and the majority of their tenure being in the top 5 which is CL football.

I said if Ruben stays the final position will be 9th to 13th with a points total of 50-60 points, now if we go get him a quality CB and and Quality DM/CM in January, then he might finish 6th to 7th however with a new coach who plays 4-3-3 we would have a genuine chance of top 4/5?

Ruben’s stubbornness will ultimately be the reason why he fails to succeed at huge elite clubs like United?

Some posters will get upset when we win this comfortably and move up the table.

We know it's only a preseason, but we should remember how confident we played them in the summer. We shoul dbe also confident in a home game, after a dominant win.
    Aged well

If Deligt or Maguire was playing at CB, that would have been a comfortable win.

Pretty much this. If De Ligt isn't ready to go on Sunday, it's time to start Martinez in the middle. I think Heaven has great upside but he's not close yet. It's already going to be a midfield 2 of Mainoo (I presume) and Bruno...which leaves them even more suspect defensively.

Mbuemo is in some kind of slump. So maybe being away for a bit isn't the worst thing. Cunha looks like he's coming out of his.

Just a bummer we couldn't hang on and get to 5th. Can't keep giving points away at home. We'd be 3rd or 4th right now had we done what we're supposed to do against teams we should beat.

So who should go in goal for rest of the season then?
