Brentford Football Club (nicknamed The Bees) is a professional football club based in Brentford, West London, England. The club was founded in October 1889, as the local sportsmen's latest attempt to form a permanent football or rugby club in the town. By 1896, Brentford had joined the London League, progressing to the Southern League in 1898 and entering the Football League in 1920. Upon the appointment of Harry Curtis as manager in 1926 came the beginning of Brentford's most successful period, with promotions in 1933 and 1935 taking the club into the top-flight of English football for the first time in its history. Three consecutive top-six finishes in the First Division established Brentford as one of the top clubs in England, but a decline began in 1938 which led to the club's relegation back to the Third Division South by 1954.

Recently, after two failed playoff campaigns in six Championship seasons, Brentford were promoted into the Premier League after victory in the 2021 Championship play-off Final (reaching the highest level of the English football pyramid for the first time since the 1946–47 season). Brentford's main rivals are Fulham and Queens Park Rangers. The club have a long standing rivalry with Fulham. In the past this fixture has been marred by crowd violence. Brentford's rivalry with Queens Park Rangers intensified in 1967, when Rangers failed in an attempted takeover of the Bees, a move which, had it succeeded, would have seen Rangers move into Griffin Park and Brentford quit the Football League. Brentford play their home games at the Brentford Community Stadium.

Win this and it's pretty much done with games to spare. fecking hate Monday night games.

feck off with your Monday fixtures FFS

I read that it's 1 win in 7 on Monday night this season so chances are we're dropping points but it shouldn't be too critical now.

Brentford last five Premier League games.

    0-0 v Bournemouth
    2-2 v Wolves
    0-0 v Leeds
    2-2 v Everton
    0-0 v Fulham

Going by that pattern we'll see a 2-2 result in this fixture.

Monday comes after Sunday, which is a much better day for a professional football match to be played. But at least we're not playing on a Tuesday.

Like Ali Dia said above, any games with expectations are a recipe for lost points. Hopefully Maguire back will steady the defence a bit, but would definately not be surprised to see us drop points here.

A lot of people in here saying it’s on Monday night, is this true?

That can't be right - I can think of two wins at Everton and Wolves on a Monday night. But I also recall defeats and a draw against Everton, Leeds and Bournemouth - all at home.

Why are we playing Monday night again. Anyway a must win here.

A difficult game. We are due a good performance but of we dont turn up we will get beat.
Maguire is back which is a bonus. Mainoo playing is equally so.

The forwards need to start performing. Mbuemo and sesko have not been anywhere near the level they can play at. Amads been poor. Cunha not great either.. im not sure whats going on there.

    Bruno is carrying them imo.

I'm worried about this one, Brentford will sit back and force us to come forward, which is our kryptonite, if we do try to play higher it will open up lots of spaces for them to hit us in transition. We won't be able to sit deeper where we're much more comfortable.

We'll need to be clinical, as we have recently, and rely on Brentford being the opposite like most recent opponents, but that's worked for us for a while now so hopefully it will continue.

Or maybe not every team is as clinical as we always seem to think, and not just against us.

So if Chelsea lose at Brighton, we’re in a win and you’re in scenarios at Old Trafford on a Monday night against Brentford. Doesn’t feel like a trap at all.

We have a 100% record in this fixture:

    24/25 - W 2-1 (Garnacho, Hojlund)
    23/24 - W 2-1 (McTominay x2)
    22/23 - W 1-0 (Rashford)
    21/22 - W 3-0 (Varane, Fernandes, Ronaldo)
